Every Live Action Spider-Man Suit, Ranked
Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026) is bringing us a new era of the Spider-Man mythos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and with it come some new villains, heroes, and surprises we won't expect. More than that, it's also a new era for his design as we get the first practical Spider-Man suit in the MCU for Tom Holland.
Not only is Brand New Day's Spider-Man suit already getting massive praise, but it's also a good excuse to revisit the many suits Peter Parker wore since 2002 while fighting crime as Spider-Man in live-action. Here's a list of the best Spider-Man suits that we've seen between Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland.
13. Black and Gold Suit
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) introduced various versions of Spider-Man's suit, likely to sell toys but also for narrative reasons that made sense. In the case of the black and gold suit, the only reason it's at the bottom of the list is that it doesn't have any special reason for being there.
Essentially, Spidey's upgraded suit got green paint on it, and when he was on a mission, he had to turn the suit inside out, giving it the black and gold look. It works with the magical webshooter that Doctor Strange gave him, but with the exposed wires, it makes the suit a greater risk than an aid.
12. Night Monkey
When Peter Parker tried to go on vacation in Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), he had to wear a suit to work with Nick Fury so that no one from his school knew where he was. The Night Monkey suit came from this as a black tactical suit with Spider-Man eyes and fingerless gloves.
It's not a very complex or detailed suit, but the stealth qualities gave it an incredible presence, especially in the scene when he's on the side of a wall with fireworks in the background. But since it doesn't look like a Spider-Man suit or do anything special, it can't rank high on the list.
11. Integrated Suit
The Integrated Suit was the next-to-last suit used in No Way Home and felt more like a last-minute compilation to differentiate Holland's Spider-Man from the other two. Using the nanotechnology Doc Ock stole from the Iron Spider suit, Peter was gifted a massive golden spider symbol on his chest and back.
It worked well combined with his Upgraded Suit and helped the character stand out, but its original status didn't blend well with the other Spider-Men in the film. It also didn't last long until Peter changed his outfit again.
10. Iron Spider
The Iron Spider Suit was teased in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and later made a full debut in Avengers: Infinity War (2018). The suit itself doesn't homage the comic inspiration but is still very fun to look at.
From the mechanical arms to its nano-tech ability that allowed it to be used at a moment's notice, it's the perfect suit to have if you need to change in a pinch. However, it struggled because it was overly designed and didn't keep Peter as a friendly neighborhood hero because of how advanced it was.
9. Homemade Suit
The only Homemade Suit in the Spider-Man films to be used while Peter was a crime fighter, this suit has so much charm when it was fully debuted in Spider-Man: Homecoming. The colors showed that Peter definitely put thought into the design, but with its bulky web-shooters and hoodie, it also feels very simple.
It's a perfect prototype Spider-Man suit and a great foundation that Tony Stark would eventually build on for the suit he gives to Peter. But from here on out, the suits only get better, hence why we can't have it much higher on the list.
8. Upgraded Suit
Made after Peter needed a new suit in Spider-Man: Far From Home, he messed with the colors and gave audiences a black and red Spider-Man suit that is even more advanced than the Stark Tech one. He used it to fight Mysterio and loaded it with many gadgets to help him on his mission.
By No Way Home, there were slight tweaks to the design to streamline it, but it was the primary suit in the film. What makes it great is that it homages the early looks of the suit, when the blue was more of a shadowy black, and it also showed Peter trying something different while keeping with the look he started with.
7. Stark Tech Suit
Captain America: Civil War (2016) not only introduced Peter Parker but also the Stark Tech Spider-Man suit. We would see this suit return in Homecoming and Far From Home and is complete with an array of high-tech additions from various web types to an Instant Kill mode and Spider-Drone.
The suit was a perfect way to introduce this new version of the character while also being inspired by the early Steve Ditko lines. But for as classic as it is, it's a strong contender for one of the most overdesigned suits in the MCU, using lines throughout to show this suit is incredibly advanced.
6. 'The Amazing Spider-Man' Suit
This is one of the more controversial entries on this list as it's also a truly standout Spider-Man suit design. When taking on the name in The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), Peter made a suit that fit like a luge racer outfit, had yellow lenses, and a completely different pattern for the red parts.
While it's a departure from what we know and love, the suit is one of the more homemade designs that stands out from the crowd. It has the aura of a classic ‘60s Spidey suit and dared to be different with confidence that felt like Spider-Man.
5. 'Spider-Man 3' Black Suit
Spider-Man 3 (2007) was the first time we saw the Black Suit in live-action, and rather than adapt what was from the comics, this film did something different. Still an alien symbiote, the suit was far more reminiscent of the main suit Peter wore than anything else.
From the promotional posters to the scene the suit was in, this Black Suit evoked strength, and even the slight change of the spider symbol stood out. It wasn't a scary suit, but it was definitely a suit that meant Peter Parker wasn't playing around.
4. Tobey Maguire's Main Suit
The suit that started it all after Peter's wrestling suit in Spider-Man (2002), Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man suit set a standard for superhero costume design that is still being referenced today. While the eyes were narrower and the symbols were different, this was the most accurate Spider-Man suit of its time.
Future sequels would tweak the design and colors of the suit, but overall, it's one of the most consistent of all the film iterations. It's hard to find a flaw in this design, and that's why it's so high on this list.
3. Final Swing Suit From 'Spider-Man: No Way Home'
Though it appeared in the closing moments of No Way Home, the Final Swing suit was jaw-dropping to see in motion. Peter's first homemade suit since his original one with the hoodie. He used a reflective blue for his suit that shone in the light as he was swinging through a snowy New York City.
Unfortunately, this particular suit won't be seen again, as it's already been upgraded. Still, it's hard to deny how impressive it was to see Holland's Peter integrate influence from the other Peters he met. As a result, we had one of the most perfect suits in the MCU that would only get better from there.
2. 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' Suit
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) is a divisive Spider-Man film from beginning to end, but the one thing that can't be argued is that it had one of the most beloved suits of any of the movies. Many remember the big eyes on Garfield's suit more than anything, but there was so much more to love.
Its shade of red and blue, mixed with the eyes, evoked an Ultimate Spider-Man-era look that fit in perfectly with the tone of the film. He was both cool and disarming enough to be approachable to kids, and seeing the suit in motion is still a sight to behold.
1. 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' Suit
Our latest live-action Spider-Man suit, Peter's Brand New Day suit, is, for all intents and purposes, perfect. It has a great shade of blue, a fun mask, and with or without the web-shooters, the suit still pops.
Being practical makes the suit even more impressive, and for the first time it feels like the movies got the formula right. The only hope now is that this suit sticks around for a while because there are no notes needed.
