Every New Scene In 'Avengers: Endgame Encore', Explained
Avengers: Doomsday (2026) is meant to be the Marvel Cinematic Universe's most groundbreaking film yet, and we are already seeing how it's affecting the Multiverse through Avengers: Endgame Encore, which hit some theaters early.
There are only a few minutes' worth of new footage in the releases, but they redefine everything we knew about the series over the past few years. That said, there are still many wondering exactly what these scenes are, what characters are in them, and why they're so important to the Multiverse. Thankfully, these scenes waste no time in getting to the point.
Loki Interrupts Steve and Peggy's Reunion
We all know that at the end of Avengers: Endgame, Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter reunite and share their dance before kissing for the first time in decades. It's a tender moment that caps off The Infinity Saga but is quickly interrupted in Avengers: Endgame Encore thanks to none other than Loki.
As we know, Loki is now the God of Stories and architect of the Multiversal tree, seeing all realities. So hearing him knock on the door shouldn't have been as much of a surprise as it was. He mentioned that he could help Peggy as Steve hid, before saying he could help them both. Steve emerged, looking concerned, before we cut to black.
Tony Stark's Hammer Strikes Have a Different Meaning
Instead of a post-credits scene at the end of Endgame, we were treated to Tony Stark's hammer strikes from when he was in the cave and crafting his Mark I mask. But in the encore version, those strikes take on a different meaning entirely.
Now, we know that Robert Downey Jr. is playing Doom, and it's unclear if him also playing Tony Stark carries narrative value. With each hammer strike, we see Doom crafting his mask in the same way that Stark made his, such as cooling the mask, and the final strike is Doom, in his mask, looking at the camera. It shows that, like Stark, Doom is a self-made and dangerous character.
We Find Out What Happened to Bruce Banner After 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day'
At the end of Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026), Bruce Banner unleashes the Hulk for the first time in a decade and is then quickly taken into custody for psychiatric evaluation. It's a sad conclusion for the character, but an Avengers: Endgame Encore scene shows us what he's been up to.
Locked away deep underground, Banner is shown with a beard and longer hair, working on a new Gamma Suppression device that seems to be working well for him. However, it's quickly interrupted by a green flash that is revealed to be Doom off camera. As Banner gets defensive and begins to transform, Doom states he's here to collect the scientist, and he and Banner disappear, with green runes being the only sign anyone was there.
The TVA Returns For the End of Reality
Picking up where Loki (2021-2023) left off, Mobius M. Mobius is back at the TVA, with Miss Minutes talking in the background, checking out the branched timelines and being told that two of them are colliding. Mildly concerned that he wasn't made aware of this, the stakes grow higher as more universes collide, including others being terminated, like the world from Hulk (2003) and Captain Carter's world from What If…? (2021-2024).
Before the scene ends, we see the Multiverse Tree is dying, and reality is ending as constant Incursions begin and the TVA is left utterly powerless. This is easily the most important scene from Avengers: Endgame Encore, as it gives us a clear look at just how serious these stakes are and how much of a losing battle it may be to stop the end of reality itself.
