Is 'Avatar: Seven Havens' Set Right After 'The Legend Of Korra'?
The Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise is expanding with a new TV series, Avatar: Seven Havens (2026). Serving as a sequel to Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005) and The Legend of Korra (2012), the show tells the story of a new Avatar, a young Earthbender named Pavi (Saheli Khan). Pavi lives in the city of Ellora during a time when an apocalyptic event has ravaged the Earth. Upon learning she is the Avatar, she and her long-lost twin sister work together to save the Seven Havens, the pillars of civilization that arise after the apocalyptic event.
The teaser for Avatar: Seven Havens may make you think that much time has passed between The Legend of Korra and the time of Pavi, given the drastic differences in environment. Use our guide to find out where exactly Avatar: Seven Havens lies on the Avatar: The Last Airbender timeline.
Is Pavi the Avatar After Korra?

According to Paramount+, Pavi is the next incarnation of the Avatar after Korra (Janet Varney) from The Legend of Korra. In the Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise, a new Avatar is born the moment the previous Avatar dies. The Legend of Korra ends when Korra is still a young woman. However, it’s worth noting that Paramount+’s press release on the show uses some choice wording about Pavi.
The article reads, “She [Pavi] is the first known Avatar after Korra in a spirit-overrun world. A cataclysmic event leaves behind a world that sees the Avatar as a threat rather than a hero.” Classifying her as the “first known” Avatar is interesting, suggesting that perhaps there were other Avatars before her who went into hiding due to the shift in how the world perceived them. It could mean even more time may have passed between The Legend of Korra and Avatar: Seven Havens than just Korra’s lifetime.
When Does 'Avatar: Seven Havens' Take Place?

In the Avatar: The Last Airbender universe, the timeline is usually divided between the period Before the Air Nomad Genocide (BG) and the period After the Air Nomad Genocide (AG). Almost the entirety of Avatar: The Last Airbender takes place between 99 AG and 100 AG, when Katara (Mae Whitman) and Sokka (Jack De Sena) free Aang (Zach Tyler Eisen) from his iceberg and help him defeat Fire Lord Ozai (Mark Hamill). The comics and Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender (2026) reveal that between 100 AG and 153 AG, Aang helped establish Republic City, married Katara, and had three children before his passing.
Korra is born in 153 AG, when Aang dies. The Legend of Korra takes place when she’s a young woman, beginning during her firebending training in 170 AG. It concludes in 174 AG, when she masters metalbending and defeats the tyrannical de facto Earth Kingdom leader Kuvira (Zelda Williams). Since the comics and The Legend of Korra end when Korra is 21, we don’t know for certain what age she dies at. However, Avatar: Seven Havens is set around 225 years after the end of The Legend of Korra, which gives some context to Paramount+’s press release about Pavi being the “first known” Avatar since Korra.
This pays off on fan theories that speculated that Avatar: Seven Havens takes place centuries after The Legend of Korra, with anything from the apocalyptic event to Korra’s breaking of the Avatar cycle potentially impacting the Avatar reincarnation.
