Where To Watch Inde Navarrette After ‘Obsession’
Movie goers are obsessed with Inde Navarrette after her showstopping performance as Nikki Freeman in the horror movie Obsession (2026). Directed by Curry Barker, the movie tells the story of Bear, a man who makes a wish for his best friend Nikki to love him more than anyone else in the world. But the standout of the film, from the very beginning, was Navarrette’s Nikki.
Her Nikki was terrifying, and yet you felt a great amount of sympathy for what she was going through. And Navarrette managed to portray the disturbing facets of her character’s journey without losing the core of what this story was about: a young woman losing control of her life because of the whims of a man.
So what’s next for Inde Navarrette? At the moment, her next movies are Kids of the Black Hole and Invertigo. Both movies seem to have her firmly in the teen role. During the tail end of The CW’s DC golden age, there was Superman & Lois (2021). This show took us through the adventures of Clark Kent/Superman, with Lois not just as a side character. She was a lead just like him. And together, we got to see Kent and Lois’ married life, their children Jonathan and Jordan, and how they faced the challenges of the world together.
So where does Navarrette come into the picture? She played Sarah Cortez (also known as Sarah Cushing), the daughter of Lana Lang and Kyle Cushing. And when she wasn’t dealing with her own family drama, she was also Jordan Kent’s love interest. Sarah was caring and responsible, but often struggled with mental health issues. And Navarrette managed to show off the depth of Sarah’s pain but also her continued fight to try and try again no matter what.
Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why was a standout teen drama when it premiered in 2017. It told the story of high school student Clay piecing together the mystery behind his friend’s tragic suicide. Unfortunately, the magic of Season 1 didn’t transfer over to the other three seasons this show had. But in the midst of all that, Navarrette did stand out with her character in Season 4.
Navarrette played Estela de la Cruz. She was the younger sister of Montgomery de la Cruz, who spent seasons on the show being an antagonist. Sweet but perceptive, Estela was trying to deal with her grief while also facing who her brother was. And something that ends up having an odd connection to Obsession is the group Estela is part of: H.O. aka Hands Off Our Bodies, an activist group to support sexual assault survivors.
A Snap Original, Denton’s Death Date (2019) stars Adventure Time’s Jeremy Shada as Denton Little. He’s a high school junior whose death is only a week away. And when he starts living his life to the fullest, strange events start happening that point to him actually making it out alive.
Navarrette plays Veronica and it marks her first big role in a series. Her Veronica is the older sister of Denton’s best friend Paolo, played by Gustavo Gomez. And Veronica is key to the story being told because Denton finds himself torn between her and his actual girlfriend, Taryn.
Wander Darkly (2020) is one of Navarrette’s few movie credits, but it’s a small one. She plays Ellie, the 15-year old daughter of new parents Adrienne and Matteo, played by Sienna Miller and Diego Luna. The entire movie has to do with this couple's lives unraveling after a car accident, forcing them to relive their past to face their future.
The movie was praised for how it portrayed grief through its dreamlike approach, but some thought it ended up spinning its wheels and not going anywhere.
Like Wander Darkly, Trap House (2025) is one of Navarrette’s handful of movie credits. In this movie she plays Teresa Flores, the girlfriend of teen lead Cody Seale. Trap House is about a DEA agent and his partner as they pursue thieves. The plot twist is that the thieves are teens robbing the cartel and using their parents’ tactics and intel.
Without spoiling things, Navarrette’s Teresa isn’t just the girlfriend. She never was. As for how audiences felt about this movie, it’s B-Grade action. If anything, some of the tropes applied to Teresa left viewers with a lot to be desired.
