The Most Romantic Spider-Man Scenes, Ranked
Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026) is the first story about Spider-Man that explores the ideas and tragedy of love and romance, but doesn't have as many romantic moments as you'd think. While Peter tries to keep MJ safe, the love he feels can't be reciprocated because she forgot all about him, and it leaves a void in Peter's heart.
But his shift is enough to think about the idea of general romance in the Spider-Man movies and how many of them had truly unforgettable scenes. While some scenes are grand gestures of love and others lean into the quieter and more real moments, there are quite a few noteworthy romantic moments in the Spider-Man movies.
9. Peter and Gwen's First Kiss in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’

In The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), we see that Gwen Stacy had a crush on Peter and eventually they went on their first date, where she invited him to dinner with her family. Definitely not the most ideal first date idea, and it was made worse by Peter being active as Spider-Man and Gwen's father being the police captain.
After a heated argument over Spider-Man's intentions, Peter and Gwen share a moment on the balcony where he tries but can't tell her he's Spider-Man. But as she walks away, he webs her and pulls her to him to kiss her before leaving after hearing sirens. It's a very romantic Spider-Man moment that's hard to forget but pales in comparison to other entries.
8. MJ Kisses Peter in ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’

Being tied to the Marvel Cinematic Universe means that finding romantic moments in these movies is both hard to do and incredibly important. That said, Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) manages to introduce Peter's crush on MJ and handle it delicately. Peter had a whole plan to confess that he liked MJ, and things ultimately went south.
But after the battle against Mysterio, we see them reunite. Peter is happy she's alive but devastated that the necklace he wanted to give her was broken. Seeing how much he cared about her and the plan he had that didn't pan out, she gives him a quick kiss that he returns. It's a delicate scene that is handled perfectly and shows us how healthy their bond would become.
7. MJ Confessing to Peter at the End of ‘Spider-Man 2’

From the very first Tobey Maguire film in his trilogy, we have wanted to see Peter and MJ reunite, but their paths always kept them separated. Spider-Man 2 (2004) nearly ended that hope entirely when MJ decided to marry someone else. But after learning Peter was Spider-Man and that's why he couldn't be with her, she left her groom at the altar.
The moment Peter and MJ share a kiss, and she confesses her love for him is like breathing a sigh of relief. We can see the happiness in both their eyes that the universe will let them be together, and then seeing her tell Peter to "go get em, Tiger" as he swings off as Spider-Man shows she can be with both sides of him, but it won't be easy.
6. MJ Consoling Peter in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’

Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) delivered a powerful gut punch with the death of Aunt May, and Peter had never felt more alone than in that moment. Even after meeting the alternate versions of himself and reuniting with MJ and Ned, it was MJ who reminded him he wasn't alone.
Seeing her console Peter when he was at his lowest was one of the sweetest moments between them and even impacted Peter's variants. She reminded him they were a team, and it solidified that, more than any other pairing, these two could never be separated.
5. Peter and MJ's Upside-Down Kiss in ‘Spider-Man’

Of all the entries on this list, the upside-down kiss in the rain between Peter and MJ in Spider-Man (2002) has to be the most iconic. After saving her from a group of thugs in an alley, Spider-Man finds MJ, and they share a few words before she rolls up his mask and kisses him.
Easily one of the more romantic scenes in the series, the only reason it's not at the top of the list is because it also comes with some issues. MJ was already dating Harry Osborn at this point, and even Peter knew that, so while their love was pure, the circumstances, not so much.
4. Peter Asking Gwen Out in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’

The Amazing Spider-Man was very much a romance between Gwen and Peter, and before their first kiss, his efforts to ask her out on a date are hard to forget. After getting into trouble and getting scolded by his Uncle Ben, he notices Gwen behind him and sparks a conversation between them before leaving.
Seeing Peter ask Gwen out was as awkward as it should be between high school students, and that's what makes it so sweet. They both like each other but don't know how to convey it, and yet they're on the same page, which greatly humanizes the film and the characters.
3. MJ Telling Peter She Loves Him in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’

The ending of No Way Home is one of the saddest in the series because everyone who ever knew Peter Parker would forget him forever to save his reality. In that time, he also has to tell Ned and MJ what's coming, and MJ is completely against it.
Before he leaves, the two share a kiss, and she tells Peter she loves him, but he shouldn't say it back until they see each other again. There's so much love in the scene between them, and it makes it hard to see them say goodbye because of how much we care for them.
2. ‘Spider-Man 3’s Personal Ending

Spider-Man 3 (2007) features Peter and MJ during a severe low point where both of their lives aren't going well and, under the influence of the black suit, Peter hits her. While this forces him to reject the symbiote and right his wrongs, it leaves them fractured.
At the end of the film, Peter finds her at her job while she's singing, and they share a quiet embrace and dance as the screen fades to black. It's a somber end to the trilogy but one that puts a period on the fact that their love was always the focus. We never see superhero relationships struggle, and this was the most real moment where two people with flaws come together and reconcile as a team.
1. Peter and Gwen on the Bridge in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) isn't without its flaws, but it did have amazing chemistry between Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy. Dealing with the weight of loving her but promising not to be with her, we see Peter throw caution to the wind and confess his love to her by writing out "I love you" in web on a nearby bridge.
Taking her to the top of the bridge, he says he'd join her in England, where she wants to go to school, because he will follow her anywhere. It's the greatest gesture of love we've seen in the series and incredibly sweet between them as well, even if it was cut short by the final battle and the untimely death of Gwen Stacy.
