The 10 Most Powerful Cosmic Gods In The Marvel Cinematic Universe (So Far)
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has immensely powerful beings that are rarely seen. Many of them are obvious, like the Scarlet Witch or the Sentry, but others go far beyond that.
From Gods to Celestials, cosmic beings are the heartbeat of the MCU. While many are strong, there are a select few that represent unlimited power in the franchise.
10. Entropy
The son of Eternity, Entropy hasn’t been introduced in the MCU save for as part of a wall caving in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014). Aside from that, his place in the franchise continues to be a mystery.
Known for destruction, the character never got much attention in the comics, with only one true appearance, but in the case of the MCU, he has replaced Oblivion among the other cosmic beings. Due to his powers being tied to destruction, it would make sense that he could be as strong as a walking apocalypse.
9. Infinity
Similar to Entropy, Infinity only appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy but represents the spatial concept of everything. She lives to continue to grow and nurture the expansion of the universe and works in tandem with her brother, Eternity.
Another character who hasn’t officially been seen in the MCU; it could be argued she’s always around, being that she represents space itself. Therefore, she’s naturally incredibly powerful.
8. Eternity
If Infinity represents space, Eternity represents time and first appeared in Thor: Love and Thunder (2022), bringing back Gorr the God-Butcher’s daughter. There, at the beginning of time, Eternity is omniscient and omnipresent.
Eternity is a mystery but also incredibly powerful. As a being, it has immense power, and only a few can challenge it. That said, no one in the MCU has tried to take his power yet.
7. Eon
The son of Eternity, Eon was first teased as a statue in Thor: Love and Thunder and has yet to appear in the MCU. His powers aren’t known, but he’s highly respected by those who worship cosmic entities.
In the comics, Eon appointed Protectors of the Universe and is also a Keeper of Cosmic Knowledge. Though he has his own power, Eon is best known for gaining knowledge and time.
6. One Above All
Yet another character shown as a statue in Thor: Love and Thunder, the One Above All is the leader of the Celestials. The Celestials in the MCU are famous for creating planets and people as well as the Deviants and Eternals.
While Celestials have been shown before, the One Above All has never been seen but is still incredibly powerful. If Arishem from Eternals (2021) is intimidating alone, the One Above All is even worse.
5. Living Tribunal
A brutal cosmic judge, the Living Tribunal has been teased in the MCU since Doctor Strange (2016) as a weapon used by Mordo. Since then, statues of the character have been shown in Loki (2021) and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022).
There is only one Living Tribunal, and it judges the actions of beings in the entire Multiverse. In the comics, the being also listens to the One Above All, God in the Marvel Universe.
4. The Watchers
First appearing in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2022), the Watchers are beings that witness the events of the Multiverse but are not to interfere with it. What If’s (2021) Uatu is notorious for breaking that rule to help keep the Multiverse alive.
The Watchers have immense latent power that makes them God-like. However, they can die like any other being, even though they can venture through various realities from X-Men ‘97 (2024) to Daredevil: Born Again (2025).
3. Death
Death made her first full appearance in Agatha All Along (2024) as the on-and-off lover of Agatha Harkness. She’s the first Green Witch and is always present to ferry people to the afterlife.
A being such as Death is the final stop for many, and that alone teases just how strong she is. She’s a literal force of nature that makes her an unbeatable threat and a powerful cosmic being.
2. Loki
Loki wasn’t always a powerful cosmic being, but following the events of Loki, a variant of him managed to venture through time itself and learned that the only way to save his friends was to safeguard the Multiverse.
Now on a throne at the center of reality, Loki holds the Multiverse together in a beautiful tree. This choice elevated his powers tremendously, and he can now hold all realities together with relative ease.
1. Ego
First appearing in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Ego started as a floating consciousness who managed to form an entire planet and humanoid avatar, siring countless children like Peter Quill. He has great power and longevity and calls himself a Celestial.
Ego’s power can span beyond his planet, but he isn’t all-powerful outside of the planet. He can still die, but he represents the boundless potential of the universe and just how dangerous it can be.
