5 Multiverse Battles That Could Break The MCU In 'Avengers: Doomsday'
Avengers: Doomsday (2026) is coming at the end of 2026, and its first trailer revealed an inevitable fact about the massive multiversal film: big fights between cool characters. We saw Shang-Chi versus Gambit and Yelena Belova versus Mystique as a start, but there are many more we still don't know about.
With the Multiverse playing such a large role in the narrative, seeing other earths feels like a given in the story. As a result, past characters that haven't been confirmed yet could still appear, even for a moment, to deliver epic fights we would love to see and others we can't help but expect.
Spider-Man vs. Wolverine

Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine are two of the most definitive castings of the 2000s, and one thing fans always wanted to see was them meet. Now, with Avengers: Doomsday, that could be possible, and the fight could be legendary.
There's always a risk that these appearances could lead to the deaths of these beloved characters, but seeing them match skills against one another is a battle that's almost 30 years in the making. Plus, it wouldn't hurt to see both actors in action one more time. However, neither Tom Holland or Hugh Jackman have been confirmed for Avengers: Doomsday at the time of writing.
Reed Richards vs. Doctor Doom

The rivalry between Reed Richards and Doctor Doom is part of comic book history but also something that has never carried as much weight in the movies. That could finally change as Doom's choices directly affect Richards and his family.
Not only is this an important fight to see between comic book legends, but we also need to see how a character like Mr. Fantastic can use his mind and push his limits. Of all the battles in the Multiverse, this one carries the most weight and can have the greatest impact should it happen in Avengers: Doomsday.
Magneto vs. Doctor Doom

Magneto and Doctor Doom are two of the most powerful villains in comics who have never appeared on the big screen together, no matter how hard studios tried. Now, this can finally happen, and it's only a matter of time before we see if these two titans will finally duke it out.
Seeing the Master of Magnetism take on Doom feels like an easy fight, but comic fans know that Doom won't go down easy. But reading it is nothing compared to seeing this battle, and something is exciting about the idea of Magneto throwing Sentinels at Doom while the other uses magic to defeat his opponent.
Blade vs. Nightcrawler

Blade returned in Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) and killed Azael in their battle against Cassandra Nova's forces. We also know that Nightcrawler will return for Avengers: Doomsday and is famous for his use of swords in combat.
Seeing two accomplished swordsmen in battle would be incredibly fun to witness, especially since none of this would be possible without Blade having a successful film. It's unlikely to happen in Avengers: Doomsday, but if it did, Marvel fans would surely lose their minds.
Savage Hulk vs. Hulk '03

People often forget just how strong the Hulk from Hulk (2003) was and how unstoppable he was from beginning to end. But with a multiverse of Hulks and many of them being savage, it would be great for one of them, if not the Earth-616 version, to take on the original movie Hulk.
It's hard to say who would win, but the fight would be brutal. As the '03 Hulk gets bigger, the madder he gets, and the scarier this battle would feel. We love the Hulk, and the Multiverse is a great way to see how the two would survive a battle against one another.
