Nathan Fielder is having a great year, with his Elizabeth Holmes documentary You Can See Everything (2026) quickly racking up impressive reviews and waves of accolades from audiences. Fielder has established himself in Hollywood thanks to his singular mix of awkward cringe comedy and biting social commentary, often in the form of mockumentaries like Nathan For You (2013) and The Curse (2023).

However, Fielder got his start as a stand-up comic and has plenty of appearances in other major shows and films that audiences may not have even realized. Each of them has used his droll delivery to their advantage, whether it be in minor roles or taking a big comedic swing. Here are the best Nathan Fielder cameos in movies and shows you may have missed.

The Disaster Artist (2017)

While Nathan Fielder might be best known for his own work, his cameos in films like The Disaster Artist underscore his comedic talents. Based on the production of the infamously bad film The Room (2003), The Disaster Artist recreates the production of the movie from behind the scenes.

This includes remaking portions of the movie with a new cast, who are technically playing the actors in the original film. Fielder appears as Kyle Vogt, the actor who plays Peter in The Room. It’s a small turn for the actor but a memorable one, coming during a portion of the film that gleefully has fun with the shaky production.

Marcel the Shell With Shoes On (2022)

Marcel the Shel with Shoes On (2022)

Based on the “Marcel the Shell” shorts by Jenny Slate and Dean Fleischer Camp, Marcell the Shell with Shoes On is a feature-length expansion of the story that fleshes out the narrative for the character. One of the big emotional throughlines of the film is the discovery that Marcel doesn’t know what happened to the rest of his family. By the end of the movie, though, Marcel is able to reunite with them.

Each of them is played by a modern comedy fixture, including Sarah Thyre and Andy Richter. Fielder plays Justin, Marcel’s brother. It’s a small role but a sweet one, highlighting how the mockumentary form that Fielder has often been drawn to can be used for heartwarming comedy.

Bob's Burgers (2011)

Nathan Fielder in Bob's Burgers

Bob's Burgers has benefited from a stacked and eclectic roster of guest voices over the years, with Nathan Fielder appearing twice on the show. In Season 2's "Beefsquatch," Fielder plays a boy named Nathan who convinces Tina to go out with him in a bid to meet local news anchor Pam. Fielder later appeared in Season 6's "The Land Ship" as Jordan, a local tagger who forms a bond with Tina.

Unlike his previous appearance, Fielder actually gets to play someone genuinely interested in Tina, even if their dynamic doesn't end well in the long run. While Nathan was a more or less forgettable side character, it could be fun to see Jordan return down the line.

The Simpsons (1989)

Nathan Fielder also appeared in Bob’s Burgers’ sister show, The Simpsons, in a role that uses his dry delivery to their advantage. In Season 26’s “Sky Police,” Marge and the other members of the local church group begin counting cards at a local casino for necessary repairs. When the casino gets wise and detains Homer, Marge’s simple act of prayer in the casino draws the attention of manager Doug Blattner.

Fielder plays Blattner as a blunt but normal man, in stark contrast to the rest of the wackiness of Springfield. It’s a small but memorable turn from the actor, especially as he tries to patiently figure out who can give the okay to let Homer go.

Rick and Morty (2013)

Between his first time on Bob’s Burgers and his appearance on The Simpsons, Fielder also made a short but memorable appearance in the second season of Rick and Morty. “The Ricks Must Be Crazy” sees Rick and Morty venture into the “teeny” universe that Rick uses to fuel his spaceship’s engine. Inside, they find increasingly teenier universes created by brilliant scientists in their respective worlds.

While the majority of the conflict in the episode plays out between Rick and Stephen Colbert’s Zeep Xanflorp, Fielder appears briefly as another inventor, Kyle, who is so disheartened by the discovery that his work is just part of a pointless cycle of similar turns that he takes his own life and strands Rick, Morty, and Zeep in that timeline.

Tour de Pharmacy (2017)

Nathan Fielder in Tour de Pharmacy

Tour de Pharmacy is a wacky HBO comedy that follows up on 7 Days in Hell (2015), serving as a crass and absurd sports mockumentary about a fictional and infamously corrupt iteration of the Tour de France bike race. Fielder appears throughout the film as Stu Ruckman, the current head of the World Anti-Doping Agency.]

Ruckman actually gets a lot of good laughs in the film, especially when he starts revealing his own experiences with drugs. It’s arguably one of Fielder’s most memorable appearances as an actual character in film, even if he isn’t necessarily the star.

Drunk History (2013)

Nathan Fielder in Drunk History

Drunk History has a lot of fun over the course of six seasons, giving a plethora of actors a chance to reimagine history through the perspective of inebriated comedians. The commitment to the bit is a big part of the fun, something Fielder leans into in his appearance in the show's very first episode.

In Season 1's "Washington D.C.," Fielder plays Bob Woodward in a goofy dramatization of the Watergate Scandal that brought down President Richard M. Nixon. Fielder has a lot of fun with the character, playing it with the same kind of gravitas Dustin Hoffman provided in the same role in All the President's Men (1976).
