Criminal Minds: Evolution (2022) Season 19 will bring Heated Rivalry’s (2025) Connor Storrie on the show in a four-episode guest-starring role. The actor had his breakout role as the fictional Russian hockey player, Ilya Rozanov, in the sports romance series opposite Hudson Williams as the fictional Canadian hockey player, Shane Hollander. Since then, both actors have been on the fast track to ascendance, with multiple TV shows and movies in their future. For Storrie, that includes Heated Rivalry Season 2, as well as Criminal Minds: Evolution.

The Criminal Minds (2005) sequel series returned with its fourth season on Thursday, May 28, 2026, exclusively on Paramount+. In reality, it’s the 19th season altogether. Criminal Minds aired for 15 seasons on CBS before continuing its run with the aptly titled Criminal Minds: Evolution on the streamer. The two-episode premiere began Season 19’s story of the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) team having to work with serial killer, Elias Voit (Zach Gilford), as a copycat killer, The Fan, emerges. So, how does Connor Storrie’s character fit in (or out) of that narrative?

How Did Connor Storrie Join ‘Criminal Minds: Evolution’?

Criminal Minds: Evolution is no stranger to guest and recurring stars. For example, Clark Gregg and Paul F. Tompkins are among those recurring stars to return for Season 19, as FBI Director Ray Madison and Paul F. Tompkins, respectively. They both joined the show in Season 2. They will be joined by Justin Kirk, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jeri Ryan, Cress Williams, Kofi Siriboe, Dash Mihok, and Nicholas Gonzalez. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Nicole Pacent will also reprise her role as Rebecca Wilson, alongside guest stars Lyndon Smith, Richard Cabral, Rob Yang, Inny Clemons, Joseph Cross, and Cara Jade Myers.

There is little known about the new characters these cast members will be playing, including that of Connor Storrie’s character. There is more known about how he joined the long-running procedural drama. Showrunner Erica Messer told TV Insider that Storrie joins Criminal Minds: Evolution in the fourth episode of its 10-episode season, which is directed by star Adam Rodriguez. “And he was only supposed to be in Episode 4, and he was so good that we were like, ‘No, he’s going to have a bigger role than we thought,” Messer said.

So, excitingly, a one-episode spot turned into a four-episode stint. That change isn’t all that surprising after becoming a fan of Storrie’s work on Heated Rivalry. (Funnily enough, Messer told Us Weekly that they even tried to get Storrie’s co-star, Hudson Williams, to join Criminal Minds: Evolution.) He’s just mesmerizing on screen. Connor Storrie has such range—look no further than his accent duel for a Saturday Night Live (1975) promotion when he hosted—that I can only imagine what he’ll bring to Criminal Minds

The truth is that little is known about Connor Storrie’s character. He is seen for a brief second in the Season 19 trailer. Storrie’s character is in an interrogation room, which suggests the BAU team is asking him about something. His expression suggests that he isn’t all that pleased with whatever is going on in the scene. But the scene’s context and its connection to the larger story are among the many mysteries heading into this season. Erica Messer told Us Weekly that Storrie’s character’s “story does have something to do with the big bad of the season, but—without wanting to give much away—that’s all I’ll say.”

In Messer’s conversation with TV Insider, she revealed a bit more, sharing that “there’s something else going on with this guy.” Apparently, the writers “kept trying to connect him to this other mystery woman who’s played by Jessi Case. And we were like, ‘OK, how are these two going to come into play for the bigger turn by the end of the season?’” That all waits to be seen, as Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 19 is only beginning, and Storrie has yet to appear.

If his character has a dark side, I bet he’ll pull the audience—or at least, me—right into it. If his character is innocent but suspected of something nefarious, I can’t wait to see how Storrie balances that. Also, Storrie’s performance as Ilya really showed that he has such a handle on the emotional sides of his characters. He knows how to let vulnerabilities live just under the surface to the character’s benefit. They feel more real because of it. So, the possibilities for Storrie’s guest-starring role on Criminal Minds: Evolution are endless. No matter what, I know that Connor Storrie will turn in another fantastic performance that showcases his truly impressive skills as an actor.
