Joel Miller (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsay) will return in The Last of Us season 2 to continue their fight for survival amid an outbreak of a fungal infection that turns humans into zombie-like creatures. The new season is expected to adapt the video game The Last of Us Part II and is aiming to premiere within the first half of 2025 to meet the eligibility window for the 2025 Emmy Awards.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, the second prequel in the Game of Thrones franchise, is expected to premiere in late 2025 on HBO and Max. It is set a century before the events of Game of Thrones and follows the exploits of Ser Duncan the Tall (Peter Claffey) and his squire Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell).

After over 45 years, the Alien franchise is finally getting its very first TV series. Alien: Earth is slated to premiere on FX on Hulu in 2025 and will be a prequel story. It will take place three decades before the events of Alien and follows a young woman, Wendy (Sydney Chandler), who investigates a mysterious vessel that crash-landed on Earth.

The Dexter franchise will expand in the summer of 2025 with the highly anticipated sequel to Dexter: New Blood, Dexter: Resurrection. While plot details are unknown, the series will see the return of Michael C. Hall’s iconic vigilante serial killer and pick up directly after the events of Dexter: New Blood.
