Will Billy Maximoff Appear in VisionQuest? We've Got the Answer
When WandaVision first ended, the fates of Billy and Tommy Maximoff were left up in the air. However, Agatha All Along changed everything. The Marvel series revealed that, rather than dissipating following the reversal of Wanda’s Westview hex, Billy’s consciousness had entered the body of William Kaplan, a teenager who died of a car crash.
In turn, towards the end of the show, Billy (or, should we say, Wiccan) essentially placed his brother, Tommy’s disembodied soul into the body of Thomas Shepherd, who was dying from drowning after a cruel prank in a swimming pool. However, as we found out in VisionQuest, Thomas’ memories never left the body, leaving both consciousnesses in one vessel.
This has left a lot for Thomas to untangle alongside his kind-of father, White Vision, who has been searching for his purpose ever since his encounter with Hex Vision. But, do you know what would make things even messier, and in turn, entertaining? If Billy was able to reunite with his twin and robo-daddy. Many of us have been waiting with bated breath for Billy to show up in VisionQuest, and the good news is that this waiting won’t be in vain! Here’s what we know…
Will Billy Maximoff Appear in VisionQuest?
The good news is, Billy is coming back! But here’s the rub — it’s not until Episode 8. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight Tommy/Thomas actor Ruaridh Mollica confirmed that the brothers would reunite.
Interestingly, Mollica and Locke also starred in a play together around the same time as all this kicked off. The play, Clarkston, was written by Samuel D Hunter, who is probably best known for writing The Whale (which was the basis of the Brendan Fraser movie). It ran for a limited season in London’s West End last year.
As Mollica explained, “We actually shot our MCU stuff before we did the play, which was amazing. And so, we met for like a coffee beforehand to get to know each other, and we were just so excited. We became such good friends instantly. And then, we did a play on the West End together, and had this big secret that slowly started to leak as we were doing it and it was fun, you know, people would be like doing secret MCU fan art at stage door, and it was amazing. It was like my first time connecting with fans and people were excited about it, and I was like, ‘God, but how does anyone know?!’”
Billy Maximoff Theories for VisionQuest
In terms of what their scenes actually involve, that, at least, has stayed under wraps. However, eagle-eyed fans noted how, in the trailer, there were two different hands charging Vision: one vibrating at an extremely fast speed, and another with black nail polish on seemingly imparting the same blue magic we saw Billy use in Agatha All Along.
With that in mind, along with the fact that this will be the climactic episode of the whole WandaVision trilogy, we can probably expect this scene to be part of some big final battle with Billy and Tommy in full Wiccan and Speed mode, maximising (Maximoffing?) their joint slay to help their ol’ dad when he needs it the most.
The question remaining is this: who will they all be fighting against? As of now, it could be Ultron, Paladin, the Client, or Jocasta — but given we’ve just hit the half way point of the season, we can expect plenty more twists, turns, allies, and enemies to come.
