See this film on the biggest, loudest screen you can, and it'll reverberate through your soul for hours (maybe even days) after. Warfare is not a movie I'd rush to watch again, but that's only down to the profoundly uncomfortable and impactful experience we must endure the first time round. It's a no-holds-barred depiction of the minutae of conflict, with raucous explosions, frenetic camerawork, and some of the most authentic performances I've seen in a while. Credit to Joseph Quinn and Cosmo Jarvis for transmitting their pain so convincingly that I forgot they were even actors at all.

While The Monkey may be a significant dip in quality compared to Osgood Perkins’ last effort, the thrilling, bone chilling Longlegs, this Stephen King adaptation certainly knows how to have fun with itself and its audience. One thing’s for sure, the onslaught of gnarly kills are more than entertaining enough to keep you hooked for the runtime. The Monkey has more in common with Final Destination than haunted doll horrors like Annabelle, but if you like your scares with a tongue in cheek playful side, this is for you.
