Every MCU Earth Destroyed or Threatened in Avengers: Endgame Encore, Explained
The post-credits scenes for Avengers: Endgame Encore have been revealed, with one particular scene at the TVA showing that the Multiverse is, indeed, collapsing.
So what does that mean for the various versions of Earth and the universes that have come into play as part of, or adjacent to, the MCU.
If you're keen to get your facts straight after Avengers: Endgame Encore, we have broken down those timelines that are already marked as destroyed, those at the mercy of incursions, and those that might be left standing heading into Doomsday...
Three Earths Will Return in Avengers: Doomsday

The Avengers, The X-Men and The Fantastic Four (Earths 616, 10005 and 828)
Of course, the film is set to focus on three main versions of Earth and, judging by the trailers thus far, all the inhabitants are going to be moving between the three timelines throughout the film.
We’ve seen the X-Men from Earth-10005 and The New Avengers from Earth-616 engage in some fisticuffs in Xavier's Mansion, as well as Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Ben Grimm and Johnny Storm of the Fantastic 4 interacting with Thor and others at Avengers Tower from their Earth-828.
So what is happening? Well, judging from the Endgame Encore post-credits scene at the TVA, the X-Men's Earth has seen incursions before, hence why they set missiles on Earth-1127 to stop them crashing into each other. So, it makes sense that they would treat the Avengers' arrival as hostile, at least initially.
Of course, in comics lore, Doctor Doom creates Battleworld out of the ashes of the Multiverse. Are we about to see that play out “for real” in the next two Avengers films? The Multiverse is collapsing, after all…
Spider-Man Stars Are At Risk

Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man Universe (Earth-96283)
Alongside the first X-Men film from 2000, Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man helped resuscitate the Marvel brand and usher in a new era of superhero films. Tobey Maguire was Raimi’s hero, battling Green Goblin, Sandman, Doctor Octopus, and Venom across the three record-breaking films.
Fast forward to 2021, and the Raimi-verse collided with the MCU in Spider-Man: No Way Home, which saw Maguire, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, and Thomas Haden Church reprise their roles from the original films. Rumours abound that Maguire returns for both Doomsday and Secret Wars, with his Earth reportedly posing a threat to another…
Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man Universe (Earth-120703)
After Spider-Man 4 was cancelled, Sony decided to reboot Spider-Man as The Amazing Spider-Man, and brought in Andrew Garfield as the new Spidey and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacey.
Only two films were made, with the second underwhelming hugely, leaving a third film and spin-offs to be cancelled. However, Garfield got a chance to redeem his version in No Way Home, as did Rhys Ifans’ Lizard and Jamie Foxx’s Electro. Whether we see another Web-verse appearance in the MCU remains to be seen.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness - Earth-838 (Home of the Illuminati) / Earth-TRN952 (America Chavez’s home) / Earth-TRN953 (Defender Strange’s home) / Earth-TRN954 (Sinister Strange’s home)
Outside of the main Earth-616, Doctor Strange and America Chavez visit multiple multiverses across Multiverse of Madness, including one where the Illuminati appear to tell Strange that their version of him died at the hands of Thanos.
Fans seem more keen to find out what happened to Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch at the film’s conclusion. Surely she will appear again soon?
The Spider-Verse (Earth-1610)
It's incredible that the first two Spider-Verse films are still being talked about now, particularly after the trilogy closer has had multiple delays for a variety of reasons (it opens next year, now).
The story sees Miles Morales become Spider-Man in his universe and navigate the infinite realms of the Multiverse with Spider-Gwen and numerous iterations of Spider-people, as well as glimpses of both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man Universe (Earth-86445)
Like the What If series, Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man may see lots of alternate Earths deleted. The Disney Plus animated series may also be up for an incursion, but while it is possible, it seems to be a little too disconnected from the main action to worry.
Four Timelines Are Destroyed, Including the Home of Eric Bana's Hulk

Eric Bana’s Hulk Universe (Earth-400083) - TERMINATED
One of the very first forays into the Marvel world on-screen was Ang Lee’s divisive yet artistically rich version of Hulk, which starred Eric Bana in the lead role. While it was potentially part of the MCU in its infancy, Marvel Studios did a soft reboot with The Incredible Hulk, which would then become Mark Ruffalo’s MCU canon.
In the post-credits scene of Avengers: Endgame Encore, it is confirmed this universe has been terminated, meaning any chance of Bana's green rage machine joining the MCU has now passed.
Fant4stic Universe (Earth-15886) - DESTROYED
Back in 2014, there was a great sense of excitement when Chronicle filmmaker Josh Trank earned the director's chair for a new Fantastic Four film (affectionately called Fant4stic). A year later, the movie was heavily reshot, making little to no sense and being arguably the weakest Marvel film ever, with awful reviews and box-office. Nothing has been spoken of it again since.
It's not surprising, then, that the new scenes in Endgame confirm that this universe has been destroyed.
Captain Carter’s What If? Universe (Earth-82111) - DESTROYED
The first episode of the first season of the animated MCU spin-off series, saw Peggy Carter, and not Steve Rogers, takes the Super Soldier Serum instead and becomes Captain Carter. An MCU version appeared in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, also, and given this is happening, many of the other What If stories and their Earths may well be part of the 3,000 incursions occurring.
One casualty of the incursions will be Captain Carter's cartoon timeline, as it's also on the list of destroyed timelines here.
Comics Universe (Earth 1127)
Not much is known about this Earth in the MCU, but in the comics, Earth-1127 is pretty interesting. As per Marvel Fandom, it features a storyline that goes a little something like this: “The Defenders discovered the Concordance Engines. However, the Engines were protecting them from the Death Celestials, and the Defenders accidentally caused their own universe's demise. Doctor Strange went to the past to stop his past self from finding the Engines, diverging the timeline, while this reality was destroyed."
Ghost Rider and Blade Timelines are Dying

Fantastic Four 2005 Universe (Earth-121698)
The first big-screen Fantastic Four arrived in 2005 with Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Michael Chiklis and Chris Evans as the titular heroes. However, we learn in Deadpool & Wolverine that Evans’ Johnny Storm has been pruned and sent to the Void.
The assumption is that the other three either followed him down there, or they stayed to witness the inevitable incursion of their Earth; however, the Fantasti-Car’s brief appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine suggests they have all since “passed through.”
Daredevil 2003 Universe (Earth-701306)
Jumping on the success of Spider-Man in 2002, Daredevil was one of the first big Marvel/Fox spin-offs that saw Ben Affleck don the red horns and costume alongside Jennifer Garner as Elektra, Colin Farrell as Bullseye, and the late Michael Clarke Duncan as Kingpin.
Similarly to the 2005 Fox Fantastic Four team, Elektra is in the void in Deadpool & Wolverine after Cassandra Nova killed Daredevil. She teams with the duo, as well as Gambit, X-23 and Blade to take on Nova, with her fate left ambiguous at the end.
Ghost Rider Universe (Earth-121347)
With Ryan Gosling now officially announced as the new Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider, it is only right that the original version of the character is pruned. But try telling Nicolas Cage that…
Released in 2007, Ghost Rider was directed by Mark Steven Johnson, helmer of the 2003 Daredevil, and saw Cage come up against Blackheart, the demon son of Mephisto.
Blade Universe (Earth-26320)
The start of Marvel on the big screen was led by Wesley Snipes as Blade, the Daywalker, a dark, brooding but tremendously entertaining horror-superhero film that was ahead of its time, as well as a huge hit.
Blade II, directed by Guillermo del Toro, and the ill-fated Blade: Trinity followed, with Snipes reprising his role in Deadpool & Wolverine. A Marvel reboot, set to have starred Mahershala Ali, has been cancelled in the intervening years, so any and every version of Blade is now dead and buried.
Spider-Noir Universe (Earth-TRN1832)
This is one of the newest Earths, as it is the setting for Prime Video’s adaptation of Spider-Noir, which has since been cancelled after one season, and saw Nicolas Cage as Ben Reilly/The Spider, a character he voiced in the Spider-Verse films.
Clearly, Cage is not having much luck when it comes to existing in the future of the MCU.
The Sony SSU (Earth-688)
The home of Sony’s ill-fated Spider-Man Universe (SSU), which included Tom Hardy’s Venom trilogy; Kraven the Hunter starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson; Madame Web, with Dakota Johnson in the lead role; and Morbius.
While produced by Amy Pascal, who brought Sam Raimi’s films to life, the films were all poorly received, and while the Venom films made big money at the box-office, the series is considered dead. Incursions, have at it...
