Reacher (2022) is an action-mystery series based on the many books by author Lee Child. Alan Ritchson plays the titular character as he travels the country using his military and detective expertise to solve murders and crimes that he feels compelled to solve to save others.

Reacher is a unique series due to the type of character Jack Reacher is and his very focused and specific code of ethics. But even though he's a character who is hard to copy, the tone of the show isn't. We have a list of a few shows that capture the essence of Reacher in very unique ways, and you can watch them right now on Prime Video, Apple TV, and more!

Based on the book character of the same name, Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan (2018-2023) follows the CIA analyst as he's tasked with traveling the world to try and stop various terrorists from unleashing an evil so great it could end civilization as we know it. John Krasinski brings a great quality to Ryan and balances kindness and decisiveness perfectly.

This iteration of Jack Ryan is more hands-on than the one from the books, and he's often more in the field throwing punches than he should be. But for the sake of the series, it works well and feels very much like Reacher in that respect.

The Terminal List

Another series based on a novel series, The Terminal List (2022) follows Lieutenant Commander James Reece, who was the sole survivor of a Navy SEAL mission gone wrong. But after returning home, his wife and child are killed, and he's on a mission of revenge while trying to solve a conspiracy meant to make him think he's going insane.

The Terminal List embraces the darkness that creeps its way into Reacher, but Reece is just as tactical and brutal, using his training to his advantage. It's a thrilling series that demands the audience's attention and is a great follow-up to Reacher.

Based on the Marvel Comics character, The Punisher (2017-2019) follows Frank Castle, who, after thinking he killed everyone tied to the murder of his family, is thrust into a government conspiracy tied to his past. Season 1 of the series feels very Reacher-esque, but Season 2 captures the nomadic quality of Ritchson's character.

Jon Bernthal delivers a definitive performance as the Punisher, and it's magnetic to watch even years after the show ended. It may not be Reacher, but it matches it with its brutality and stoic lead.

Justified
Justified

Justified

2010

Justified (2010-2015) explores the life of U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens, who, even in the modern day, lives life like a Wild West sheriff. But for audiences, this leads to some great moments as we see him enter a small town and shake up the status quo in the name of justice.

As the season progresses, the characters and storyline get more complicated but are far from boring. If you love Reacher for his matter-of-factness or his inability to waste time, Justified is the perfect show to watch after catching up with Reacher.

Bosch

2015

Yet another series, just like the previous entries, Bosch (2014-2021) is a series based on books. But rather than try anything new and exciting, Bosch keeps things simple as it chronicles the many crimes LAPD detective Harry Bosch has to solve.

The simplistic quality of the series is what keeps people coming back to watch it and its spin-offs. These elements prove that not all shows have to be exactly like Reacher to succeed, as others can focus on the procedural quality and thrive.

Banshee

Banshee

2013

Banshee (2013-2016) sees jewel thief Lucas Hood, fresh out of prison, trying to get away from old enemies. This leads him to the town of Banshee, where he assumes the identity of a deceased man who is supposed to be the sheriff. While you'd think he would use it to commit more crimes, he actually uses his own methods to help people.

Banshee has no shortage of action and thrills based on the fact that Hood's identity could be outed at any moment. Hood doesn't have the same morals as Reacher, but his brutality is even wilder, and the story is just as engaging.
