The 5 Biggest Reveals In The 'Avengers: Doomsday' Trailer
We've finally gotten the first full trailer for Avengers: Doomsday (2026), and it has revealed so much of what we should expect from the fifth Avengers film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not only was Doctor Doom shown in all his glory, but we also saw many battles between heroes and a chilling speech from Thor.
Avengers: Doomsday didn't avoid hiding too much and finally delivered on months of waiting that the fanbase has endured. But with it are also new revelations that we never would've expected that change how we see many of the characters we know and love from this universe and others. Here's the five biggest reveals teased in the Avengers: Doomsday trailer.
Incursions Are Back, And They Are Terrifying
When we last heard about Incursions, it was at the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022), where Clea appeared and told Strange that he started an Incursion in his world and had to stop it. While we don't know if he actually did, we do know that they are very much a thing and the X-Men's world is in danger.
In the Avengers: Doomsday trailer, Charles Xavier looks at a sky on fire and a world that's dying. With Reed Richards telling Sue they don't have long in a small teaser, we can also infer that their world is colliding with the X-Men's. There's a lot we still don't know, but it's great to see that Icursiosn haven't been forgotten.
Thor Is Genuinely Scared Of What's Coming
Thor has faced powerful foes before, from Thanos to Surtur and the end of his world. But to see him talk about the threat they are facing, whether it be an Incursion or Doom himself, Thor is scared, and that's not a good thing.
Against Thanos, we saw him driven by revenge but never scared of his foe. It wasn't until Avengers: Endgame (2019) that Thor wasn't scared of Thanos but was scared of failing again. Now we are seeing him with something to lose, at his personal peak, with a powerful weapon, and even he is scared of whatever it is that's coming because he doesn't know how to stop it.
Wakanda And Talokan Aren't Friends
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022) saw Shuri broker a peace deal with Namor and his underwater kingdom, Talokan. So long as he doesn't harm Wakanda or the surface, his land won't be outed to the world.
It seemed like things were fine, but as Shuri and M'Baku work with Namor, they immediately stand off against the king. We know that Namor is cocky and ruthless, and it's enough to wonder how often this truce is threatened and why he would challenge the Wakandans when they need help.
Doctor Doom's Power Is Unparalleled
When Doom speaks at the start of the Avengers: Doomsday trailer, he talks of a difficult choice that's coming that people have to be ready for. It's interesting enough that he's the one saying this, as the film makes it sound like he's the main villain, but it also shows just how aware he is of the dangers ahead.
We also see his power in action as he stops Thor's axe with two fingers and isn't even struggling as the god screams in rage. In just a few seconds, we are not only shown how strong Doom is but also that he's barely scratched the surface of his abilities.
Steve Rogers Is Back
When Avengers: Endgame ended, it marked the end of Steve Rogers' story as he returned to his Earth as an old man, after living a life with Peggy in another timeline. However, he's back in Avengers: Doomsday with his long hair and beard, and we don't know why.
Whether his living in another reality changed the timeline or not is unknown, but what we do know is that Steve Rogers has returned. Holding Mjolnir, we know he won't be Captain America, and that opens up many possibilities for how he will be presented in the film.
