Jasmine Trinca burst onto the scene with an award-winning performance in “The Son’s Room” (2001), directed by Nanni Moretti. She went on to star in “The Best of Youth” (2003) and worked with Moretti again for “The Caiman” (2006), both of which earned her further acclaim. She had lead roles in “The Big Dream” (2008), “There Will Come a Day” (2013), and “Miele” (2013), which solidified her as one of the top Italian actresses. Trinca went on to star in “Lucky” (2017), which won her a Jury Award at the Cannes Film Festival. Trinca directed her first short film, “Being My Mom” (2020), and followed it up with her feature-length directorial debut, “Marcel!” (2022), a drama movie that she also co-wrote. She starred as the famous Italian educator Maria Montessori in the eponymous movie “Maria Montessori” (2023), in the six-part television drama “The Art of Joy” (2024), and in the crime movie “The Eyes of Others” (2025).
