There are few figures in the world of Hollywood who exude the star power of Angelina Jolie. Beginning her career as a starring actress in the movie “Girl, Interrupted” (1999), for which she won an Academy Award, Jolie went on to star in major movies such as “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” (2001) and its sequel, “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life” (2003), “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” (2005), “Kung Fu Panda” (2008), “Changeling” (2009), and “Maleficent” (2014). She began her filmmaking career with “In the Land of Blood and Honey” (2011) before going on to write and direct multiple major movies, including “First They Killed My Father” (2017) and “Without Blood” (2024). Jolie’s later career has seen her star in the critically acclaimed “Maria” (2024), directed by Pablo Larrain, and “Couture” (2025) by French filmmaker Alice Winocour. She is known as an avid human rights supporter and was notably Special Envoy to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees from 2012 to 2022.
