    “The name’s Bond, James Bond.”

Seven actors have said these iconic words in more than 20 movies, spread across multiple decades. Based on the spy novels by Ian Fleming, the James Bond movies follow the international exploits of the British secret agent as he takes on high-profile terrorists while engaging in new romances. Sean Connery was the first actor to play the MI6 spy in Dr. No (1962). Since then, many actors have had the 007 codename from Roger Moore to Pierce Brosnan to more recently, Daniel Craig.

If you wish to get started with the James Bond franchise, we have got you covered with a guide to stream all the movies in the correct order.

How to watch the James Bond movies in chronological and release order

The James Bond movies can be watched in the same order as their release date as each focuses on a standalone adventure. It’s only the five Daniel Craig James Bond movies that are chronologically connected, with shared characters and continuing backstories. Even then, these five movies were released in chronological order.

    • Dr. No (1962)

    • From Russia With Love (1963)

    • Goldfinger (1964)

    • Thunderball (1965)

    • You Only Live Twice (1967)

    • Casino Royale (1967)

    • On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969)

    • Diamonds Are Forever (1971)

    • Live and Let Die (1973)

How to watch the James Bond movies by actor

Out of the 27 James Bond movies released (so far), only two were not produced by Eon Productions, the company that holds the filming rights to Ian Fleming’s novels and characters. Every movie except these can be considered 'canon' – even if the James Bond franchise doesn't feature much canonical storytelling at all from one movie to the next.

Another way to watch James Bond movies is by streaming each Bond era, categorized by the actor playing 007. Here's a breakdown of each Bond era:

Starring Vin Diesel alongside action heavyweights like Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez and the late Paul Walker, the Fast and Furious franchise knows no stopping with one blockbuster after the other. What started as a movie about street racing turned into a multi-million dollar franchise about saving the world. With spin-offs, short films and prequels in the mix, watching the Fast and Furious movies can be tricky – but we’ve got you covered with a streaming guide to the entire Fast and Furious franchise in the chronological and release order.

The Fast and Furious franchise has two viewing orders – chronological and release – because The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, which was released after 2 Fast 2 Furious but actually takes places years later. If you are devoted to watching the entire Fast saga, you'll also want to see the two short film, Turbo-Charged Prelude and Los Bandoleros.

How to watch the Fast and Furious movies in chronological order

    • The Fast and the Furious

    • Turbo-Charged Prelude

    • 2 Fast 2 Furious

    • Los Bandoleros

    • Fast & Furious

    • Fast Five

    • Fast & Furious 6

    • The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift

    • Furious 7

    • The Fate of the Furious

    • Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw

    • F9

    • Fast X

The franchise begins chronologically with 2001’s The Fast and the Furious, when an undercover cop-turned-racer Brian O’ Connor (Paul Walker) crosses paths with the street-racing outlaws Dominic “Dom” Toretto (Vin Diesel) and Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez). This was followed by the short film Turbo-Charged Prelude, which adds more context to Brian O’Connor’s shifting loyalties. The short leads up to 2 Fast 2 Furious, which introduces fan-favourite character Roman (Tyrese Gibson) as he assists O’Connor in an undercover mission.

The next few movies in chronological order (Fast and Furious, Fast Five and Fast and Furious 6) continue the story of Dom and O’Connor’s crew as they take on ambitious missions to defeat global criminals and terrorists. From Fast Five onwards, Dwayne Johnson’s agent-turned-bounty hunter Luke Hobbs also became a main character in the franchise.

A post-credits scene in Fast and Furious 6 then reveals that Tokyo Drift is the next movie in the franchise's chronological order. The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift introduces an all-new cast with the story shifting (or should I say drifting?) to the racing culture in Japan. The breakout character of this movie was the street racer, Han (Sung Kang). Furious 7 is the next movie to watch after Tokyo Drift – the Fast movie that introduces the villainous terrorist Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham).

The legendary Fast and Furious star Paul Walker tragically passed away before the release of Furious 7, meaning it was the final movie to feature Brian O’Connor. After a fitting tribute to one of the franchise's biggest stars, the Fast saga continues with The Fate of the Furious, the spin-off Hobbs & Shaw, and F9. That brings us to the latest Fast and Furious movie, 2023’s Fast X, which ended on a cliffhanger – setting up a grand finale with the saga's next movie.

How to watch the Fast and Furious movies in release order

The release order of Fast and Furious movies is very similar to the chronological order, but there is one key difference: The Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift was released out of order. If you'd prefer to experience the Fast saga in the way they came out in theaters, here's every movie in release order:

    • The Fast and the Furious

    • Turbo-Charged Prelude

    • 2 Fast 2 Furious

    • The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift

    • Los Bandoleros

    • Fast & Furious

    • Fast Five

    • Fast & Furious 6

    • Furious 7

    • The Fate of the Furious

    • Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw

    • F9

    • Fast X

Pirates of the Caribbean brought the seafaring treasure-hunters back in fashion for 21st century audiences, thanks to the cheeky pirate Captain Jack Sparrow (played by Johnny Depp) and his magical ship, Black Pearl. Inspired by the Disney theme park ride of the same name, the Pirates of the Caribbean movies have emerged as one of Disney’s highest-grossing film franchises. With five adventures starring Johnny Depp, Disney is also planning to reboot the franchise with more movies to be expected.

If you want to watch the Pirates of Caribbean franchise in order, come aboard the Black Pearl as our streaming guide gives you all the information you need to stream these movies. We'll show you all the latest streaming offers from streaming services in India, and show you any options to watch Pirates of the Caribbean movies legally online for free. This guide also shows you how to watch Pirates of the Caribbean in chronological and release order.

How to watch the Pirates of the Caribbean movies in chronological order

Unlike franchises like Star Wars and Harry Potter, you can watch the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise chronologically by streaming them in the same order as their release date. However, the 2011 short film Tales of the Code: Wedlocked is set between the fourth and fifth installments. The 10-minute short, Tales of the Code: Wedlocked, acts as a filler between the fourth and fifth movies, dealing with a love triangle involving Jack Sparrow. The short film plays out for comedic purposes and doesn’t add much to the overall story. So it's not essential viewing for anybody that wants to follow the entire saga.

    • Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)

    • Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (2006)

    • Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End (2007)

    • Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011)

    • Pirates of the Caribbean: Tales of the Code: Wedlocked (2011)

    • Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017)

All five Pirates movies find Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow embarking on fantastical adventures on sea (and occasionally on land). The franchise is filled with thrilling naval battles, hilarious chase sequences and fearsome villains like the near-immortal Davy Jones. Played by Bill Nighy, Davy Jones is a cursed tentacled pirate that anchors a ghost ship known as the Flying Dutchman. He is the arch-nemesis to both Jack Sparrow and his unlikely friends, Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swan (Keira Knightley). Other iconic Pirates of the Caribbean villains include Blackbeard (Ian McShane) in On Stranger Tides and the zombie captain Armando Salazar (Javier Bardem) in Dead Men Tell No Tales.

The first three Pirates of the Caribbean movies were directed by Gore Verbinski (The Ring, Rango). Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides was directed by Rob Marshall (Mary Poppins Returns, The Little Mermaid), while the fifth movie (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) was co-directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg (Bandidas).

Where can I stream the Pirates of the Caribbean movies in order?

Below you can find the latest streaming information to watch every Pirates of the Caribbean movie. This includes every offer for viewers in India today and every OTT platform where you can watch, rent, or buy the movies. Smooth sailing, pirates!

Star Wars was then acquired by Disney in 2012, leading to the Sequel Trilogy and spin-offs. The sequel trilogy includes Episode VII: The Force Awakens, Episode VIII: The Last Jedi and Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. The two Star Wars stories include Solo (telling the origin story of Han Solo) and Rogue One (showing how rebels acquired the Death Star plans before the events of A New Hope).

George Lucas wrote and directed Episode IV: A New Hope, before handing over directorial responsibilities to Irvin Kirshner for Empire Strikes Back and Richard Marquand for Return of the Jedi. Lucas returned to the director's chair for all three prequel movies. JJ Abrams is the only other director to have helmed more than one Star Wars movie, having directed The Force Awakens and The Rise of Skywalker. What started out as a low-budget Australian indie film turned into one of the biggest post-apocalyptic franchises of all time. With the latest Mad Max movie, Furiosa, focusing on the titular one-armed rebel, the franchise continues to shift gifts and takes the chaotic wasteland to the next level.

If you want to watch all the Mad Max movies in the correct viewing order, we have got you covered with a complete guide on where to stream them. Here you'll find every way you watch legally stream them online from India. We'll also let you know the best viewing order (chronological vs release), and if there are options to watch the Mad Max movie franchise for free.

How to watch the Mad Max movies in chronological order

The first three Mad Max movies can be watched in the same order as their release date, but you can watch Furiosa before the fourth movie (Mad Max: Fury Road).

    • Mad Max (1979)

    • Mad Max 2: Road Warrior (1981)

    • Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome (1985)

    • Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024)

    • Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)

How to watch Mad Max movies in release order

The release order of the Mad Max movies can be divided into two phases. The first phase is the original trilogy (1979-1985), which stars Mel Gibson as Max. The second phase (2015-) includes more revisionist chapters in the Mad Max saga featuring Tom Hardy as Max and giving equal focus to Furiosa. These movies mark the franchise’s arrival in the 21st century, complete with bigger budget, longer runtimes and rave reviews.

All five Mad Max and Furiosa movies are directed by Australian filmmaker George Miller (Happy Feet, Three Thousand Years of Longing). The first three Mad Max movies are all standalone adventures revolving around the violent road journeys of the titular drifter hero played by Mel Gibson. Mad Max introduced Gibson’s character as an Australian policeman in a dystopian future, seeking revenge against a reckless motorcycle gang. The car stunts increased in scale in Mad Max: Road Warrior, which found Max helping a community from desert bandits.

The third movie, Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome, notably featured singer Tina Turner (who also had two songs on the soundtrack). As the final movie to feature Gibson’s Max, Beyond Thunderdome follows the titular hero as he teams up with a band of abandoned children to take down the town’s authoritarian queen.

In terms of release date, the next movie was Mad Max: Fury Road. Despite being a direct sequel to the previous Mad Max films, the 2015 blockbuster saw Tom Hardy replace Mel Gibson as Max. Hardy’s character is joined by Charlize Theron’s Imperator Furiosa. Furiosa is introduced as the aide to a tyrannical ruler Immortan Joe, rebelling against him in search of her own homeland. The movie was nominated for a whopping ten Oscars, eventually winning six.

Furiosa serves as a prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road, offering more background on the character. With young Furiosa played by Anya Taylor-Joy, the movie explores her origins as a young renegade warrior before meeting Mad Max in Fury Road.

30 Best Madhuri Dixit Movies and Where to Watch Them

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

    JustWatch Editor

A ‘90s diva who is known for both her acting and dancing talents, Madhuri Dixit is the star of many iconic movies like Devdas, Dil To Paagal Hai and Parinda. If you wish to know more about Dixit’s filmography, we have got you covered with a complete streaming guide that will tell you everything you need to know about her best movies and the streaming platforms where you can watch them.

What are the best Madhuri Dixit movies that I can watch?

The 1990s were the prime era of Madhuri Dixit’s stardom. So, the perfect Madhuri Dixit movies to begin with are the ones from this decade. These include top-grossing romances like Hum Aapke Hai Koun and Dil Toh Paagal Hai. The former starred her alongside Salman Khan. Dixit and Khan played a couple whose love comes in the face of their conflicting family ideologies.

Dil Toh Paagal Hai was relatively light-hearted and found Madhuri Dixit and Karisma Kapoor playing dancers vying for the attention of a choreographer (played by Shah Rukh Khan). Dixit and Khan would later collaborate for a more iconic pairing in 2002 with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas.

The BAFTA-winning and Golden Globe-nominated period romance revolves around the titular alcoholic lover and his romantic struggles with his childhood sweetheart (Aishwarya Rai) and a courtesan (Madhuri Dixit). The trio of actors drew immense praise along with Bhansali’s direction and the grand production design.

Since the late 2000s, Dixit’s on-screen appearances have become more limited. Some notable movies from her later career are still worth watching such as the feel-good dance film Aaja Nachle and the dark romantic comedy Dedh Ishqiya. What’s notable about Dedh Ishqiya is that Dixit revisited her mastery over the classical dance form of Khatak (a style that she had also performed in Devdas).

After the pandemic, Dixit has also dabbled in some OTT projects such as the Prime Video film Maja Ma and the Netflix original series The Fame Game. Maja Ma was a feel-good story on the “coming out” of a closeted lesbian housewife while The Fame Game found her playing a hot-headed Bollywood actress who mysteriously goes missing one day.

Why is Devdas the best Madhuri Dixit movie to watch?

Devdas is a grand period piece featuring career-defining performances by Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, and Aishwarya Rai. Dixit shines particularly for her empathetic portrayal of a courtesan who falls for a reckless alcoholic. The actress not only delivers some quotable monologues but also wows audiences and critics with elegant and graceful dance routines in songs like the cult classic “Dola Re Dola”.

Where can I watch the best Madhuri Dixit movies online?

Below you can find the latest streaming information for Madhuri Dixit's best movies. This includes every offer for viewers in India today. We'll also show you if any of her best movies are available to watch online for free.

  • Every Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra Movie Ranked and Where to Watch Them

Every Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra Movie Ranked and Where to Watch Them

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

    JustWatch Editor

An adman-turned-filmmaker, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra stood out in the 2000s and the 2010s with cult favourites like the revolutionary coming-of-age drama Rang De Basanti and the sports biopic Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.

If you wish to get a closer look at the best movies directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, we have got you covered with a definitive ranking of his filmography and a guide that tells you where to stream them all.

Which Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra movie should I watch first?

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s first movie makes for a worthy watch but it didn’t mark his breakthrough. His directorial debut Aks starred Amitabh Bachchan and Manoj Bajpayee and played out as an exciting supernatural action thriller. While Bachchan played a morally righteous cop and Bajpayee a deranged terrorist, the film found the two characters’ swapping souls and taking each other’s personality. The concept was perhaps too bold at its time and despite a few good reviews, the movie flopped at the box office.

A more quintessential Mehra film was his second project Rang De Basanti. The 2006 blockbuster featured an ensemble led by Aamir Khan, and revolved around a group of drifters who plan to act in a film recounting the struggles of Indian freedom fighters in the era of British colonialism. But with political chaos unfurling in modern India, the past and present collide in unprecedented ways.

The heavily acclaimed drama revealed Mehra’s potential to direct socially conscious storylines. Continuing this trend, his forays into satirical social comedy are some of his most underrated works. These include Delhi-6 and Mere Pyare Prime Minister. While Delhi 6 explored the urban chaos of the Indian capital city, the latter is a heartwarming tale of a young boy making the journey from his Mumbai slum to the Prime Minister’s residence in Delhi to help the living conditions of his mother.

Mehra has experimented with multiple genres in his career so far, ranging from a tragic period romance like Mirzya and sports dramas like Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Toofan. Bhaag Milkha Bhaag marked a major moment in his career with Mehra recreating the life and times of the Indian Olympian athlete Milkha Singh. Farhan Akhtar, who played the late runner, reunited with Mehra for his Prime Video boxing drama Toofan. An underdog story on the rise and fall and comeback of a fictional boxer, Toofan proved Mehra’s ability to play around with sports movies.

Known for his gritty crime dramas, underdog heroes, and numerous collaborations with actor Dhanush, Vetrimaaran has established himself as one of Tamil film industry’s leading directors.

If you wish to know more about the Asuran and Vidhuthalai director’s filmography, we have got you covered with a complete streaming guide that leads you to all of Vetrimaaran’s movies and information you need on where to stream them online.

Which Vetrimaaran movies should I watch first?

The best way to watch Vetrimaaran’s movies is in the same order as their release date, as this sequence would show how the director has only improved in his craft with every passing movie. Vetrimaaran made his directorial debut in 2007 with the action thriller Polladhavan. Dhanush played the lead character, a man whose fate changes after he buys a bike and later gets it stolen. Opening to rave reviews for Dhanush’s acting and Vetrimaaran’s directing, the movie spawned numerous remakes in other languages and popularised the Bajaj Pulsar (the bike featured in the movie) among Tamil youths.

The director and actor joined forces again for the drama Aadukalam. The 2011 hit found Dhanush’s protagonist embroiled in an unattainable romance and a rooster-fighting business. The movie earned Vetrimaaran a National Award for Best Director and Best Screenplay.

While Vetrimaaran’s first two movies addressed social themes like an economic class divide, his political themes got more evident in his third film: a police thriller titled Visaranai (also released as Interrogation). The gruelling social drama revolves around the fates of two men who are forced to confess to a crime after they are locked up by the cops. The film won a National Award for Best Tamil Film and also opened much debate and discourse over the ethics of the police force in Tamil Nadu.

Visaranai’s success opened the avenues for more ambitious projects like the period gangster epic Vada Chennai, yet again starring regular collaborator Dhanush. The movie charts an underdog’s journey between rival criminal factions in a fishing community in ‘70s-era South Chennai. Vada Chennai ended on a nail biting cliffhanger, teasing the possibility of a sequel that fans still await.

With Dhanush already starring in several anti-caste dramas, Vetrimaaran cast him again in Asuran. Addressing the oppression faced by marginalised castes, Asuran starred Dhanush as a hot-headed lower-caste youth who kills an oppressive upper-caste landlord. The ensuing chaos made for a violent, powerful, and relevant watch. As is the case with many Vetrimaaran films, Asuran also earned the National Award for Best Tamil Film.

Why is Vidhuthalai Part 1 Vetrimaaran’s best movie to watch?

Intending to direct a two-part saga next, Vetrimaaran directed Vidhuthalai Part 1. Set in the 1980s and inspired by real-life politics of the era, Viduthalai explores the conflict between the police and a separatist group. However, neither side is good or bad as Vetrimaaran’s story explores the morally grey areas of the policemen and their atrocities as well. Boasting impressive performances by Vijay Sethupathi and Soori, Vidhuthalai is a gripping political thriller.

30 Best Anushka Shetty Movies And Where To Watch Them

An enduring star of Tamil and Telugu movies since the 2000s, Anushka Shetty found pan-Indian fame portraying the warrior queen Devasena in the Baahubali franchise. But Shetty’s diverse filmography goes much beyond the blockbuster series. To know more about the actress’ best movies and where to stream them, have a glance at our streaming guide to the best Anushka Shetty movies.

What are the best Anushka Shetty movies to watch?

Anushka Shetty has appeared in a string of blockbusters since the 2000s, starring opposite Telugu heroes like Nagarjuna (Ragada), Ravi Teja (Vikramarkudu), and Prabhas (Billa) and Tamil stars like Suriya (Singam series) and Thalapathy Vijay (Vettaikaran). As entertaining as these movies are, a lot of Shetty’s mid-2010s and current work is more character-driven and features strong female protagonists. These are the best Anushka Shetty movies that you can get started with.

For starters, there is the SS Rajamouli-directed Baahubali franchise. The two period epics recount the political conspiracies and military battles in the fictional kingdom of Mahishmati. Shetty played the valiant queen Devasena who is shown to be captured and imprisoned in the first movie. But it’s the second installment (Baahubali 2: The Conclusion) that offers more backstory to her character, allowing Shetty to shine in the action sequences.

Another period drama that allows Shetty to shine on her own is the acclaimed Rudhramadevi. Winning the Filmfare Award for Best Telugu Actress, Shetty played the medieval queen Rudrama Devi, one of the few female monarchs in Indian history.

Some of Shetty’s best movies are the ones in which she plays multiple characters. A prominent example is the 2009 horror fantasy Arundhati which starred her as a woman who discovers the mysterious past of her great-grandmother (also played by Shetty). But when a dark arts magician goes after her, both the protagonist and her ancestor must come together. Another interesting double-role film is Bhaagamathie. The 2019 horror comedy finds Shetty playing a disgruntled government officer and the spirit of a queen that haunts her new home.

Even when Shetty doesn’t get top-billing, she shines in some serious and dramatic roles. For instance, her performance was quite impactful in the Vikram-led human drama  Deiva Thirumagal. While Vikram played a man coping with a learning disability, Shetty played a lawyer who helps him to regain custody over his estranged daughter.

Straying away from action, horror, and drama, Shetty can also shine in light-hearted roles. Some must-watch options include the romantic-comedy Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty in which she shared on-screen chemistry with stand-up comedian Naveen Polishetty. The actress also shone in Size Zero, a comedy on the body standards of women.

With Anushka Shetty still reigning as one of South’s highest-earning actresses, there’s still a lot of future potential for more hit projects.

Why is Baahubali 2: The Conclusion the best Anushka Shetty movie to watch?

The second Baahubali film increased the scope of its predecessor and brought out some interesting and emotional character-driven backstories. Anushka Shetty’s on-screen chemistry with Prabhas as Mahishmati’s rightful rulers added a lot of extra depth to the plot. As for the action, director SS Rajamouli raised the stakes to bigger and better levels.

20 Best Arya Movies and Where to Watch Them

Arya might not match the supreme status of other Tamil superstars like Vijay, Vikram, or Suriya, but the Sarpatta Parambarai and Raja Rani actor has carved his own niche in the film industry. From smart romantic comedies to innovative action dramas, watch the best of Arya’s movies along with a guide on where to stream them all.

    Arya’s movies at a glance

Born Jamshad Cethirakath in Kerala, Arya made a promising start in Tamil cinema with his Filmfare-winning debut in 2005, Vishnuvardhan’s Arindhum Ariyamalum. The complex crime drama starred Arya in a supporting role as a dreaded gangster’s hot-headed adopted son. Sharing screen space with an already-experienced thespian like Prakash Raj as his father figure, Arya’s debut opened up avenues to play more rogue supporting characters.

A quick example in succession was the 2006 crime thriller Pattiyal that explored the world of underworld dons and contract killers, with Arya playing one such morally-conflicted assassin.

Arya drew further critical acclaim in 2009’s Naan Kadavul. The drama followed him as a man estranged from his family to the point of becoming an unorthodox ascetic. But when he reunites with his brethren, fitting into society becomes a Herculean task with Arya effortlessly capturing the social transformation of his protagonist.

But it was only from the 2010s onwards that Arya began to prove his commercial prowess with hits like the colonial-era period romance Madrasapattinam (2010), the comedy film Boss Engira Baskaran (2010), family action film Vettai (2012) and Atlee's family film Raja Rani (2013). The latter was, in fact, substantial in exploring Arya’s comic timing as he and Nayanthara aced the portrayal of a mismatched couple brought together by personal tragedy.

His funny side was touched upon again in the dark crime caper Settai, the Tamil remake of Hindi cult favourite Delhi Belly (2013). In the same year, he reunited with Arunthum Ariyamalum filmmaker Vishnuvardhan for the action thriller Arrambam and starred as a mathematician and fantasy world hero in the surreal romance Irandam Ulagam.

Hits followed in the years to come albeit with mixed reviews from the critics’ front. But a watershed moment in Arya’s career was marked after the pandemic, with Arya fronting Prime Video’s 2021 release Sarpatta Parambarai. Helmed by Pa Ranjith, the ‘80s-set boxing drama found Arya displaying impeccable boxer physique and channeling a morally gray brand of heroism. Post-Sarpatta, Arya continued improving his credentials as an action hero with offerings like the Predator-like military-vs-alien adventure Captain and the social gangster drama Kathar Basha Endra Muthuramalingam.

Has Arya appeared in any TV shows?

Arya made his OTT debut in 2023 with the Amazon Prime Video original The Village, a folk horror series inspired by the Indian graphic novel of the same name.

Why is Sarpatta Parambarai Arya’s best movie to watch?

Director Pa Ranjith has proven he’s a master storyteller throughout the years and Sarpatta Parambarai finds him addressing his quintessential commentary on caste issues but within the guise of an underdog boxing drama. Arya shines as a village boxer who aims to make his mark in the ring not just for a championship title but also for his self-respect in the midst of two rival clans’ clash. Rocky-inspired boxing tropes like a training montage and a full-fledged comeback are aptly adapted in a local milieu and an ‘80s period setting with Arya delivering a career-best performance as the moustachioed heavyweight fighter Kabilan.

Where can you stream Arya’s best movies?

Below you can find the latest streaming information for Arya’s best movies in order. This includes every offer for viewers in India today. We'll also show you if any of his best movies are available to watch online for free.

While she is Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ cousin, Parineeti Chopra has established her own identity in Bollywood with spectacular debut performances in Ladies vs. Ricky Bahl and Ishaqzaade. Apart from these two acclaimed roles, Chopra has gone on to appear in many other acclaimed hits like Hasee Toh Phasee and Amar Singh Chamkila. Have a look at the best Parineeti Chopra movies in our guide that gives you a ranking of her best roles and all the information you need to stream them.

Which Parineeti Chopra movies should I watch?

The best Parineeti Chopra movies to get started with are her screen debut Ladies vs Ricky Bahl and her debut as a lead actress Ishaqzaade. A remake of John Tucker Must Die, Ladies vs. Ricky Bahl featured a Filmfare-winning debut from Chopra as one of the naive women who get conned by Ranveer Singh’s casanova antihero.

While Ladies vs Ricky Bahl showcased her skills as a supporting actress, Ishaqzaade established her as a Bollywood heroine. Ishaqzaade was an adaptation of Romeo & Juliet starring Arjun Kapoor and Chopra as the ill-fated lovers from rival political families. The violent love story makes for essential viewing as it features Chopra’s trademark style of playing bold, independent heroines.

Other dramatic performances to watch out for include the black crime comedy Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar which reunited her with Ishaqzaade co-star Arjun Kapoor. Playing out as a bank employee and cop’s road trip, the film explored themes like police corruption, workplace harassment, and toxic masculinity.

She has also acted in a range of biopics like Kesari, Amar Singh Chamkila, and Saina. Her diversity in roles can range from playing Punjabi folk singer Amarjot Kaur in Amar Singh Chamkila and the Olympic-winning badminton player Saina Nehwal in Saina.

On a lighter note, Chopra has also starred in a few good rom-coms and screwball comedies. Hasee Toh Phasee is a particular highlight with critics praising her chemistry with Siddharth Malhotra. Chopra’s protagonist was one of the many quirky heroines in her career. Her other experiments with romance included Shudh Desi Romance and Meri Pyaari Bindu, both of which flopped at the box office but developed a cult fan base later. Other comedy flops like the neo-Western Kill Dil and the food-themed romance Daawat-e-Ishq similarly have their loyal share of admirers.

Why is Amar Singh Chamkila Parineeti Chopra’s best movie to watch?

Amar Singh Chamkila stands out with strong direction by Imtiaz Ali and compelling lead performances by Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra. The Netflix original biopic finds Dosanjh play the titular singer and Chopra playing his fellow performer and second wife Amarjot Kaur. Apart from exploring their live stage performances in Punjab, the movie also covers the political and social drama that surrounded their careers. With Chopra acting and singing, she brings Amarjot Kaur to life with sensitivity and charm. It truly marks a distinct career highlight for the actress.

Every Pa Ranjith Movie Ranked and Where to Stream Them

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

Pa. Ranjith has emerged as one of Tamil cinema’s most outspoken and diverse directors. From the student politics drama Madras to the boxing epic Sarpatta Parambarai, Ranjith’s filmography takes on different themes but with a strong anti-caste system. His criticism of caste discrimination also stems from his association with his music group The Casteless Collective, a few members of which contribute to the soundtrack of Ranjith’s critically acclaimed Tamil movies.

If you wish to get started with the director’s best movies, we’ve got you covered with our streaming guide that will give you a definitive ranking of every movie and the information on where to stream them all.

What are the best Pa. Ranjith movies to watch?

All of Pa. Ranjith's films so far are worth a watch. However, it’s best to keep his mainstream ventures with superstar Rajinikanth, Kaala and Kabali, for later. While both movies were compelling with morally grey heroes challenging the system, the rest of Ranjith’s work is more nuanced.

His 2012 directorial debut Attakathi is a good starting point. The romantic-comedy starred Dinesh as Dinakaran, a dreamy casanova who falls for any girl who smiles at him. But after one particular lady re-enters his life, Dinakaran’s quest for true love begins. The film avoided familiar romantic cliches and presented a breezy exploration of modern romance instead.

But it’s the 2014 political action drama Madras that marked Ranjith as a force to be reckoned with. Starring Karthi as an angry young man archetype, the movie covers his journey from quitting his IT job to becoming involved in a political rivalry. With a wall creating a discord among two rival political factions, Madras explores larger themes like youthful angst, marginalisation of the Dalit (lower caste) community, and caste-based politics.

Following the success of Madras, Ranjith collaborated with Rajinikanth for two back-to-back action thrillers, Kabali and Kaala. Kabali starred Rajinikanth as an aging gangster who seeks to reunite with his estranged family after being released from prison. In Kaala, Rajinikanth essayed the titular role of a local slum leader who attempts to save his land from the clutches of a ruthless gangster-turned-minister.

While both Kaala and Kabali were subjected to mixed reviews, the tide turned to Ranjith’s favour with his 2022 Prime Video release Sarpatta Parambarai. Set in the world of rival boxing clans in 1970s-era Tamil Nadu, the boxing drama starred Arya as an aspiring underdog in the ring. The film drew immense acclaim for its performances, fighting choreography, and Ranjith’s directorial vision.

The director then brought out his anti-caste messages in a more explicit fashion in the ensemble musical drama Natchathiram Nagargirathu. The movie revolves around the creation of a local play, one that features Dalits, queer people, and even judgmental conservatives (many of whom unlearn their biases as the plot progresses). Balancing tragic reality checks with some optimism for the future, Natchathiram Nagargirathu proves how Ranjith can direct political movies with more depth and less preachiness.

Why is Sarpatta Parambarai Pa. Ranjith’s best movie to watch?

There is a lot to love about Sarpatta Parambarai, from its technical aspects to an emotional lead performance by Arya. While boxing movies often tend to follow the same cliches after Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky, the Pa. Ranjith film still excels with its focus on local boxing clans, ‘70s-era politics, and some standout training sequences.

Where can I watch the best Pa. Ranjith movies online?

Below you can find the latest streaming information for Pa. Ranjith's best movies. This includes every offer for viewers in India today. We'll also show you if any of his best movies are available to watch online for free.

What are the best Diljit Dosanjh movies to watch?

The best Diljit Dosanjh movies to get started with include his serious dramas, many of which are biopics on prominent personalities from the North Indian state of Punjab. For starters, you can watch Amar Singh Chamkila, the Netflix original movie that features Dosanjh as the titular singer. Directed by Bollywood auteur Imtiaz Ali, Amar Singh Chamkila followed the folk singer’s career from his iconic live stage performances to his unexpected assassination.

Other quintessential Diljit Dosanjh biopics include Soorma which recounted the comeback of Indian hockey player Sandeep Singh as he recovered from a fatal accident. Sajjan Singh Rangroot had Dosanjh playing a valiant World War I soldier fighting for the British Indian Army. His turn as slain human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra in the period thriller Punjab 95 earned Dosanjh further acclaim since it premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Other serious performances to watch include Udta Punjab, the controversial but acclaimed drama that explored drug abuse in Punjab. Dosanjh starred as a law-abiding policeman who has to deal with the drug menace and his own addict brother. The Netflix film Jogi and the Punjabi drama Punjab 1984 also brought out an emotional side of his acting. Both movies recounted the struggles of Indian Sikhs amidst communal riots in 1984.

On a lighter note, Dosanjh has also showcased comedic skills in successful Punjabi rom-com franchises like Jatt and Juliet and Sardaarji. The surrogacy-themed Bollywood comedy Good Newwz and the Punjabi superhero comedy Super Singh are other laugh-out-loud comedies perfect for fans of Dosanjh. Be it in his dramas or comedies, a bonus for his fans is that Dosanjh also sings original songs in most of them.

Why is Amar Singh Chamkila Diljit Dosanjh’s best movie to watch?

A sincere supporting performance by Parineeti Chopra and AR Rahman’s versatile music score add to the viewing experience.

35 Best Soubin Shahir Movies and Where to Watch Them

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

    JustWatch Editor

Starting out as an assistant director, Soubin Shahir has made his way to mainstream stardom in Malayalam cinema with socially conscious choices like Kumbalangi Nights, Sudani From Nigeria, and Manjummel Boys. If you wish to venture into Soubin Shahir’s filmography, our streaming guide has you covered with a definitive ranking of his best movies ranging from mainstream hits to more niche arthouse picks.

Which Soubin Shahir movies should I watch first?

For contemporary Malayalam cinema beginners, Shahir’s best movies would include critically acclaimed picks like the family dramas Kumbalangi Nights and Bheeshma Parvam, the sci-fi family comedy Android Kunjappan Ver 5.25, the cult romance Premam, the Ouija board-themed horror comedy Romancham, and the fact-inspired survival drama Manjummel Boys.

All of these movies find Shahir playing empathetic or morally grey lead characters, evoking dramatic nuance with occasional comic timing. Much like peer and frequent co-star Fahadh Faasil, Shahir’s performances brim with an energy that’s not over-the-top but impactful enough.

He is equally effective in supporting roles with his debut performance also being a side role in the 2013 Fahadh Faasil-starrer Annayum Rasoolum. Having worked as an assistant director for a decade, Shahir also made his directorial debut in 2017 with the coming-of-age drama Parava. The poignant tale set around a game of pigeon race and cricket makes for quintessential viewing for Shahir’s fans. Interestingly, the movie also featured an extended cameo appearance by Malayalam hero Dulquer Salman who has starred alongside Shahir in many other films.

Part of what works in making Shahir’s filmography gritty is its emphasis on real-world topics. So, while Trance dealt with the perils of religious televangelism, Kumbalangi Nights exposed toxic masculinity among a band of brothers. Similarly, Manjummel Boys played out as a claustrophobic real-world horror as it followed the titular town’s inhabitants daringly rescue their friend stranded in a pit at Kodaikanal.

But that doesn’t mean that Shahir doesn’t have a funny side. Even the most serious of his roles brim with either pious naivety or an underlying sense of mischief. Some of his most heartwarming comedies include Sudani From Nigeria, a sports comedy that finds Shahir’s football-loving protagonist befriending a Nigerian footballer stranded between immigration tussles. Android Kunjappan Ver 5.25 similarly had him playing a family patriarch encountering the titular AI humanoid.

Why is Kumbalangi Nights Soubin Shahir’s best movie to watch?

Kumbalangi Nights is considered Soubin Shahir's finest work owing to its gripping storyline and his standout performance. Shahir takes on the role of Saji, a character grappling with intricate family dynamics and personal dilemmas. Throughout the film, Shahir brings Saji to life with remarkable authenticity, portraying his struggles and growth with remarkable depth. For instance, in scenes where Saji confronts his inner conflicts or navigates complex relationships, Shahir's portrayal is both compelling and nuanced. His ability to convey Saji's vulnerabilities and evolution resonates deeply, enhancing the film's emotional impact, making Kumbalangi Nights a standout in Shahir's filmography.

Which Remo D’Souza movies should I watch first?

While D’Souza is primarily known for his involvement in Bollywood, his directorial debut was actually a Bengali-language production. Starring fellow Dance India Dance judge Mithun Chakraborty, Lal Pahare'r Katha was a heartwarming drama centered around a disillusioned dancer and a disabled boy as they find common ground to elevate themselves. The film allowed D’Souza to sit on the director’s chair after serving as choreographer in more than a hundred films.

In Bollywood, he first made his mark with the college comedy FALTU, an Indianised take on the 2006 Hollywood film Accepted. A satire on college acceptances, the film centered on a group of unemployed slackers making a fake university to dupe their parents. Despite mixed reviews from critics, it managed to perform reasonably well at the box office, setting a positive tone for D'Souza's directorial career.

Following the success of FALTU, D'Souza ventured into the genre of dance films with ABCD: Any Body Can Dance in 2013. This movie marked a significant milestone in Indian cinema, being one of the first 3D dance films in the country. Starring Prabhu Deva, Ganesh Acharya, and others, the film not only showcased D'Souza's prowess as a director but also highlighted his exceptional choreography skills. ABCD received critical acclaim for its dance sequences, storytelling, and performances, cementing D'Souza's reputation as a director with a unique vision.

The success of ABCD led to its sequel, ABCD 2, in 2015, which further solidified D'Souza's position as a leading director in the dance genre. Starring Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor, and Prabhu Deva, among others, the film was a commercial success and garnered praise for its engaging narrative and spectacular dance sequences. D'Souza's ability to blend storytelling with captivating choreography was evident once again, making ABCD 2 a crowd favorite.

In 2016, D'Souza stepped out of his comfort zone with A Flying Jatt, a superhero film starring Tiger Shroff as a Sikh costumed hero who fights eco-terrorists. While the film received mixed reviews, D'Souza's attempt to explore a different genre showcased his versatility as a director. Despite not performing as expected at the box office, it demonstrated D'Souza's willingness to take creative risks.

Continuing his directorial journey, D'Souza helmed Race 3 in 2018, the third installment of the popular Race franchise. Starring Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, and others, the film was a high-octane action thriller. While it received a lukewarm response from critics, Race 3 was a commercial success, reaffirming D'Souza's ability to deliver box office hits.

Why is ABCD Remo D’Souza’s best movie to watch?

ABCD: Any Body Can Dance stands out as one of Remo D'Souza's best films due to its groundbreaking approach to showcasing dance on the Indian screen. 35 Best Abhishek Bachchan Movies and Where to Watch Them

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

    JustWatch Editor

From early hits like Dhoom and Guru to more versatile ventures like Ghoomer and the Prime Video series Breathe, Abhishek Bachchan has carved his niche as an enduring Bollywood presence in both lead and supporting roles. If you are a fan of the Ludo and Paa actor, then our streaming guide has you covered with the best Abhishek Bachchan starrers along with all the information you need on where to watch them.

Where to get started on Abhishek Bachchan’s best movies

To get an earlier glimpse of Abhishek Bachchan’s filmography, it’s worth to watch his critically acclaimed debut film Refugee (a period epic on the migration of refugees from Pakistan to India) as well as the one that made him a bankable lead with Dhoom (which marked a watershed moment in modern Bollywood action and spawned two more successful sequels).

But the son of veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan hasn’t always been commercially viable as is evident from flawed but still watchable flops like the superhero fantasy Drona and the ensemble dance musical Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. While online trolls would be quick to reduce Bachchan as a flop actor, it’s worth noting that between these commercial duds, he also explored his dramatic prowess in cult favourites like his collaborations with Mani Ratnam: Yuva, Guru, and Raavan.

From playing a toxic lover-cum-hoodlum in Yuva to an ambitious underdog industrialist in Guru to a reckless but ultimately empathetic guerrilla rebel in Raavan, Bachchan proved that he can get top billing in “non-masala” projects as well.

Some of his best movies are also alongside his superstar father, including the likes of the National Award-winning family drama Paa and Ram Gopal Varma’s Indianised take on The Godfather with Sarkar.

Paa interestingly had the actor play his own father’s father, Abhishek playing a Delhi-based politician and Amitabh playing his estranged son who battles a rare medical condition of accelerated aging. Sarkar and its subsequent sequels found him standing in for a Michael Corleone-archetype of a conflicted son forced into his father's morally corrupt empire (with Amitabh Bachchan playing the politician father this time).

Over the years and with the streaming boom in India, Bachchan is also turning towards projects with wry humour, observational satire, socially conscious themes. And he’s content to do it even if he’s in a supporting role. Apart from a lead turn as an illiterate, degree-seeking politician in Netflix’s Dasvi, his recent supporting performances to watch include a stint as a coach to a single-armed cricketer in the sports drama Ghoomer and redemption-seeking criminal in Anurag Basu’s black crime comedy Ludo (again on Netflix).

Why is Guru Abhishek Bachchan’s best movie to watch?

If there’s a movie that fully fleshed out Abhishek Bachchan’s potential as a lead hero, it is Mani Ratnam’s rags-to-riches drama Guru. While it plays out as a capitalist fairy tale on the surface, Guru is much more layered as it explores the titular businessman’s journey from humble beginnings to self-centered egoism. The epic scale of the narrative also makes space for a wholesomely organic love story, foreshadowing the matrimonial love that Bachchan would go on to share with his co-star-turned-wife Aishwarya Rai. AR Rahman’s grandiose score adds to the ambitions, making Guru a career highlight for both Ratnam’s directorial cover and Bachchan’s Bollywood stint.

Redefining screen villains and antiheroes, the Ek Villain franchise comprises gritty neo-noir thrillers with the first movie even connected to a South Korean cult favourite. If you wish to watch the Ek Villain movies in the right viewing order, we’ve got you covered with a guide that gives you all the movies in chronological order along with all the information on where to stream them.

How to watch the Ek Villain movies in chronological order

The Ek Villain movies are thematically connected to each other despite different lead characters. They can fortunately be viewed in the same order as their release date.

    • Ek Villain (2014)

    • Ek Villain Returns (2022)

Additionally, fans of the franchise can also watch the South Korean thriller I Saw The Devil as the first movie was an unofficial remake of this 2010 hit.

    • I Saw The Devil (2010)

Much like the Korean film it draws inspiration from, Ek Villain deals with morally gray characters involved in a never-ending cycle of violence. While I Saw The Devil was about a face-off between a revenge-seeking police officer and a deranged murderer, Ek Villain instead pitted a reformed criminal (Siddharth Malhotra) against a misogynistic, homicidal villain (Riteish Deshmukh). Shraddha Kapoor also stars in Ek Villain as Malhotra’s on-screen love interest, one who helps awaken the humanity within his antiheroic character.

A few years later, Ek Villain Returns dealt with similar themes of violence and redemption but with an all-new cast of characters helmed by John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani, and Tara Sutaria. With Abraham and Kapoor’s characters both stuck in one-sided romances, the movie explores which of the two antiheroes would end up becoming an actual villain. A mid-credits scene brought back a major character from the first film connecting the two movies together and opening the possibility of a third installment.

10 Best Shows Like Fallout And Where To Watch Them

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

    JustWatch Editor

Based on the video game series of the same name, the Amazon Prime Video original Fallout offers a bizarrely funny and adventurous look at a post-apocalyptic future. The series is set two centuries after a nuclear apocalypse ended the world, forcing some of the survivors to seek shelter in underground vaults while the others roam the surface with their own goals.  Covering multiple perspectives of these survivors, Fallout has already won over both die-hard fans of the video games and franchise newcomers.

If you enjoyed Fallout, our streaming guide will offer you ten similar shows that you can watch on streaming services available in India.

    Westworld

Before writing and directing episodes of Fallout, Jonathan Nolan (the brother of Christopher Nolan and co-writer of Interstellar and The Dark Knight) created the dystopian Western series Westworld. Set in a futuristic theme park where unruly humans abuse machines, the series later expands to the real-world controlled by an advanced AI system.

    Star Wars: Andor

Certain characters from Fallout reflect resistance against an authoritarian future. Andor explores similar themes in the context of Star Wars. Set before the main movies, Andor finds the titular rebel solving political conspiracies and indulging in interplanetary adventures. You don’t need much Star Wars background to watch Andor as it’s good enough as a standalone thriller.

    Silo

Much like the underground vaults in Fallout, the survivors in Silo live in nuclear bunkers called “silos”. But when one of these survivors climbs up the surface like Fallout’s protagonist Lucy, dystopian action and drama follow.

    3%

The Netflix original is set in an alternate future where only an elite minority live on a luxurious island, the safest place on Earth. The rest of humanity dwells in post-apocalyptic chaos with only 3% having the chance to improve their life. Think of 3% as Fallout meets The Hunger Games.

    Outer Range

With drifter cowboy characters like the Ghoul, Fallout might also come off as a Western sci-fi. Perhaps the next best option in this niche sub genre would be Outer Range. An Amazon Prime Video original starring Josh Brolin, Outer Range finds Brolin playing a rancher who encounters extraterrestrial phenomena on his land.

    Snowpiercer

Snowpiercer is set in a time when the world has turned into a frozen wasteland. The action takes place in an unstoppable train but not all passengers on inside are equal. Much like Fallout’s post-apocalyptic society, a class divide leads to rebellion within the train.

    Brave New World

Based on the iconic sci-fi novel of the same name, Brave New World is set in a world ruled by strict protocols on human society. But when a few humans decide to exercise their free will, the consequences are chaotic and life-altering. The philosophies of free will and human liberation are similarly reinterpreted in Fallout.

    Daybreak

Teen high-school comedy meets nuclear apocalypse in Daybreak, the Netflix comedy-drama series that was unfortunately cancelled after one season. Despite ending on a cliffhanger, the now-discontinued series has had its own cult fanbase with some highly-likable characters as they navigate their lives in a future where all the adults are dead and only the teens have survived.

    Chernobyl

On a more serious note, Fallout also reveals the disastrous consequences of nuclear technology on humanity. A show that fleshes out such serious themes on a realistic level is Chernobyl, the Emmy-winning miniseries that recreated the titular nuclear disaster in the Soviet Union.

    The Last Of Us

Arguably the best-made video game adaptation, The Last of Us follows Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsay) surviving against all odds as deadly fungi turn humans into feral zombie-like creatures. But more than just the blood-soaked action, The Last of Us also stands out for emotional storylines and morally complex characters.

Every Homi Adajania Movie Ranked and Where to Watch Them

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

    JustWatch Editor

From niche English-language picks like Being Cyrus and Finding Fanny to more mainstream hits like Cocktail and Angrezi Medium, Homi Adajania is quite a versatile name among modern Indian directors. Here’s a definitive ranking of all movies directed by the Murder Mubarak filmmaker along with a guide on where to stream them all.

Being Cyrus and Cocktail: Homi Adajania’s collaborations with Saif

Homi Adajania began his career with advertising before transitioning into filmmaking, bringing his distinct vision to the Indian cinema landscape. His directorial debut came with the 2006 film Being Cyrus. This dark comedy-drama, starring Saif Ali Khan, Naseeruddin Shah, and Dimple Kapadia, received critical acclaim for its offbeat narrative and strong performances. Focusing on a Parsi family, the film delves into the chaos that unfurls after the family encounter an ominous member named Cyrus.

Adajania's directorial style, marked by his ability to blend dark humor with nuanced character portrayals, was evident in this debut effort.

In 2012, Adajania joined forces with Saif Ali Khan again for the love triangle romantic comedy-drama Cocktail. Starring Khan alongside Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty, the film was a commercial success and received positive reviews for its fresh take on modern relationships and friendships.

Finding Fanny and The Fakir of Venice: The experimental picks

Following the success of Cocktail, Adajania continued to explore unconventional narratives with Finding Fanny in 2014. This offbeat road movie, set in a sleepy Goan village, starred an ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, and Naseeruddin Shah. The film received praise for its quirky humor, poignant moments, and strong performances, further establishing Adajania as a director with a penchant for storytelling outside the mainstream.

The Fakir of Venice, released in 2019 but filmed earlier, offered yet another glimpse into Adajania's repertoire as a writer (with Anand Surapur directing). Though the film faced delays in release, it showcased Adajania's ability to tackle thought-provoking subjects with a touch of humor and insight. The quirky comedy found Akhtar’s protagonist assisting a modern artist as he finds a godman for an art installation.

Angrezi Medium and Murder Mubarak: Adajania goes mainstream

In 2019, Adajania directed Angrezi Medium, a heartwarming comedy-drama that marked his return to the director's chair after a five-year hiatus. Starring Irrfan Khan, Radhika Madan, and Kareena Kapoor Khan, the film explored the relationship between a father and daughter against the backdrop of education and aspirations. Despite its release amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Angrezi Medium was well-received by critics and audiences alike for its heartfelt narrative and stellar performances.

Retaining his mainstream sensibilities but for a smaller screen, Adajania also directed the 2024 Netflix murder mystery Murder Mubarak. A whodunit set within a fancy Delhi club, the movie drew positive reviews and boasted an all-star ensemble including Sara Ali Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, and frequent collaborator Dimple Kapadia.

Did Homi Adajania direct any TV shows?

2023 saw Adajania playing around with streaming as he helmed the Hotstar original Saas Bahu aur Flamingo, an exciting neo-noir starring Dimple Kadapia as an aging crime family matriarch. The eight-episode crime comedy garnered five Filmfare nominations.

Why is Cocktail Homi Adajania’s best movie to watch?

Playing around the familiar love triangle formula, Cocktail was a fresh take on modern love delivering Adajania’s stylish direction, Imtiaz Ali’s multi-layered dialogues, and Pritam’s breezy soundtrack that still dominates Indian pop culture.

Where can you stream Homi Adajania’s filmography?

While Murder Mubarak is a Netflix original, most of Homi Adajania’s other movies are available to watch ZEE5, Eros Now, Vi Movies and TV, and Jio Cinema.

Hailing from Bollywood royalty, Karisma Kapoor dominated the 1990s with starring roles in a slew of popular romantic comedies like Dil To Pagal Hai and cult favourites like Andaz Apna Apna. After her recent turn as a yesteryear actress in Netflix’s Murder Mubarak, Kapoor proves that she is still dynamic as ever. If you are looking for the best Karisma Kapoor movies, we’ve got you covered with a streaming guide. This includes where to watch her best movies on streaming services available in India.

Which Karisma Kapoor movies should I watch first?

The easiest Karisma Kapoor-starrers to watch first would be her breezy 90s-era rom-coms. The best place to start is Yash Johar’s musical romance Dil To Pagal Hai. Johar’s film starred Kapoor alongside Madhuri Dixit and Shah Rukh Khan with the former two heroines playing fellow dancers who fall for the same choreographer (Khan). The movie is still popular today for its larger-than-life love triangle and iconic title track, Dil To Pagal Hai was a major hit for the actress, ranking as the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 1997. If you enjoy After Dil To Pagal Hai, you can then watch screwball comedy movies like David Dhawan's Judwaa, Hero No. 1, Biwi No. 1 and Coolie No. 1.

However, Karisma Kapoor is way more than just a romantic heroine. To see all of her best movies, you need to watch typecast-breaking roles such as Fiza. The movie is a social drama set in the aftermath of the 1993 communal riots in Mumbai and addressed the perils of religious intolerance and fanaticism. Kapoor played the titular heroine, a woman in search of her lost brother (Hrithik Roshan) who has turned to extreme measures haunted by the riots. The film allowed critics to view Kapoor in a new light and earned her a Filmfare award for Best Actress.

Another example of Karisma Kapoor breaking her typecast is and Zubeidaa. Directed by Indian auteur Shyam Benegal, Zubeidaa is a period drama set in the confines of a conservative princely family in Rajasthan. Kapoor plays an aspiring actress who marries a prince and attempts to break free of his controlling grip. Displaying notable emotional range alongside co-stars like Manoj Bajpayee and Rekha, Kapoor went on to garner a Filmfare nomination for Best Actress and even picked up the Filmfare Best Actress (Critics Choice) trophy.

While Kapoor took a step back from the limelight in the late 2000s, her sister Kareena Kapoor rose in stardom. Her intermittent appearances in recent times include Vikram Bhatt’s 2012 fantasy Dangerous Ishq that found her playing four characters across four timelines, the Ekta Kapoor-produced comedy-drama series Mentalhood that marked her OTT debut in 2020, and Homi Adajania’s 2024 Netflix whodunit Murder Mubarak. The latter was a notable comeback for Kapoor who played ominous B-movie actress Shehnaz Noorani, one of the many suspects of a murder committed in an elite Delhi social club. Kapoor’s subtle yet nuanced performance was one of the talking points of this adaptation of Anuja Chauhan’s mystery novel Club You To Death.

Where can I watch the best Karisma Kapoor movies online?

Below you can find the latest streaming information for Karisma Kapoor's best movies. This includes every offer for viewers in India today. We'll also show you if any of her best movies are available to watch online for free.

Every Sriram Raghavan Movie Ranked And Where to Watch Them

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

    JustWatch Editor

Shaping Bollywood noir with Hitchcockian influences, Sriram Raghavan has built a career around cult favourite thrillers like Andhadhun, Johnny Gaddaar, and more recently, Merry Christmas. If you wish to get on a nail biting Sriram Raghavan binge, our streaming guide has you covered with everything you need to know about the director’s limited but impactful filmography and where to stream them.

Ek Hasina Thi: Starting with the basics

After dabbling in a few true crime documentaries, Raghavan made his Bollywood directorial debut with the gritty revenge drama Ek Hasina Thi. Urmila Matondkar, who had showcased terrifying range in many Ram Gopal Varma thrillers before, starred as a woman betrayed and murdered by her lover (Saif Ali Khan in an early experimental stage of his career). But when it turns out she isn’t dead, Matondkar’s femme fatale leads a bloody path to revenge.

In retrospect, Ek Hasina Thi is quite predictable when it comes to Raghavan’s future works. But it makes for an essential watch for audiences who wish to get into the director’s morally ambiguous, hyperviolent world.

    Agent Vinod: The Guilty Pleasure

Raghavan’s sophomore collaboration with Saif Ali Khan was an attempt at giving Bollywood its very own James Bond. While critics called it a misfire, later viewings have been more gentle. Agent Vinod is a genre mishmash that borrows heavily from spy thrillers from the West. But despite its muddled substance, Agent Vinod oozes with style and proves yet again that if nothing, Raghavan’s thrillers always look classy.

Badlapur: Raghavan seeks bloody revenge again

Raghavan revisited the revenge thriller formula after Ek Hasina Thi with his 2014 hit Badlapur. With Varun Dhawan cast against type as a disgruntled vengeance-seeking lover, Badlapur finds his bearded antihero tracking down his wife’s killer (played with haunting charm by Nawazuddin Siddiqui). Amping up the revenge and drama from his directorial debut, Badlapur was a welcome return to form for its writer-director. Avenging one’s lover is a dated trope in Bollywood thrillers but Raghavan brought an underlying tragic arc for his protagonist, thanks to a committed performance by Dhawan.

Johnny Gaddar, Andhadhun, and Merry Christmas: The Sriram Raghavan Holy Trinity

Barring Agent Vinod, all of Raghavan’s films have enjoyed a cult following. But if there was one thriller that truly made him stand out as a modern auteur, it was the neo-noir Johnny Gaddaar. Featuring a mixed ensemble of new talents like Neil Nitin Mukesh and veterans like Dharmendra, the film was Raghavan’s take on the 1962 French thriller novel Les Mystifies and a tribute to vintage Mumbai-set Bollywood thrillers like Johnny Mera Naam (which inspired the film’s title).

Coming to influences and reinterpreting them, Raghavan achieved further cult status with the critically and commercially successful Andhadhun. A Hitchcockian crime thriller/comedy of errors, the film starred Ayushman Khurrana as a blind pianist who gets embroiled in a network of criminal conspiracies.

Merry Christmas followed Andhadhun a few years later, with Raghavan’s Tarantino-like pop culture obsession becoming more pronounced. The thriller that begins with a chance encounter between Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi’s characters, is filled with Easter Eggs alluding to Hitchcock classics (The Birds, Rebbeca), Vivaldi’s music, old Bollywood, and even Blade Runner.

And yet despite all of this, Raghavan retains his unpredictable storytelling and ability to bring out the best of his mainstream stars. While Sethupathi has already established himself as a character actor, the movie brought a never-seen-before dramatic range from Kaif.

Why is Andhadhun Sriram Raghavan’s best movie to watch?

Andhadhun is stylish, unpredictable, heavy on Raghavan’s usual tropes and boasts an impeccable ensemble cast with an even more impeccable soundtrack by Amit Trivedi.

Where can you stream Sriram Raghavan’s best movies?

Netflix, Prime Video, and Eros Now. Agent Vindo is also available for free on Jio Cinema.

50 Best Prithviraj Sukumaran Movies and Where to Watch Them

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

    JustWatch Editor

Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran is one of Kerala’s most versatile actors, balancing unconventional projects with mainstream productions. If you are a fan of Prithviraj Sukumaran movies like the Driving License and Jana Gana Mana, have a look at his best movies (and find where to watch them) with this streaming guide.

How to get started with Prithviraj Sukumaran movies

Prithviraj Sukumaran’s career began in the early 2000s, mostly taking on romantic projects like his 2002 debut Nandanam and the 2006 coming-of-age rom-com  Classmates (the highest-grossing Malayalam film at its time). Born to veteran actors Sukumaran and Mallika Sukumaran, he established himself further in the 2007 Tamil romantic musical Mozhi for his performance as a musician whose life changes after falling for a deaf girl.

His other memorable non-Malayalam ventures include his Tamil debut Kana Kanaden (a thriller that featured him as a villain for a change) and Mani Ratnam’s revisionist Ramayana adaptation Raavanan. Even though his Bollywood debut Aiyyaa polarised audiences, he has had memorable roles in other Hindi films like an authoritarian cop in the neo-noir Aurangzeb and a rogue agent in Neeraj Pandey’s spy-thriller Naam Shabana.

Coming back to the Prithviraj Sukumaran's Malayalam filmography, the 2010s witnessed more experimentation in his career with multiple award-winning performances. He played the real-life Malayalam film visionary J.C. Daniel in the biopic Celluloid, and Urumi was another interesting example to showcase his lead actor charm with Sukumaran playing a 19th century warrior in Santosh Sivan’s ambitious period epic.

Apart from Urumi, Sukumaran’s 2011 also found him starring in low-budget sleeper hits as well like the satirical comedy Indian Rupee. A prominent career highlight, the film found Sukumaran playing an unemployed youth who wishes to make quick money through dodgy real estate deals.

From 2019 onwards, he started his own production house with its debut project being the supernatural horror 9 (also starring him in lead). The same year, Sukumaran also turned to directing with the Mohanlal-led crime thriller Lucifer. A commercially successful mass-entertainer, Lucifer gave way to another directorial project with Mohanlal with the comedy-drama Bro Daddy.

Sukumaran’s recent track record finds him easily balancing between light-hearted and more emotionally nuanced performances. So, while the 2019 satire Driving License found him playing a pastiche of himself (a Malayalam superstar), he explored a darker psyche as a disgruntled military veteran in the 2020 thriller Ayyappanum Koshiyum.

A few more must-watch Prithviraj Sukumaran movies from recent times include the legal drama Jana Gana Mana which starred him as a lawyer examining the brutal murder of a cultural professor. Drawing unanimous praise from critics and audiences alike, Jana Gana Mana boasts Sukumaran’s eye for not only acting in socially conscious projects but also producing them.

This doesn’t mean that Sukumaran doesn’t have time for any big-budget action, as is evident from his dual role in the Telugu dystopian action drama Salaar Part 1 Ceasefire. Considering its multilingual wide release, Salaar also boasted Sukumaran as a star with pan-Indian significance.

Why is Aadujeevitham Prithviraj Sukumaran’s best movie to watch?

Produced by and starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, Aadujeevitham (also released as The Goat Life) has been a passion project for the actor for quite some time. Based on the haunting true accounts of Kerala labourers forced into slavery in Saudi Arabia, the survival drama solely relies on Sukumaran’s subtle acting and emotional range as his hero Najeeb Muhammad struggles to make it out alive from the goat-herding desert hell he’s trapped in. This is Prithviraj Sukumaran like you’ve never seen him before.

Where can you stream Prithviraj Sukumaran’s movies?

Many of Sukumaran’s recent movies are available to watch on mainstream OTT platforms like Netflix and Prime Video while his older ones can also be found on Manorama MAX and Sun NXT.

15 Best Madhubala Movies and Where to Watch Them

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

    JustWatch Editor

Madhubala was a veteran Bollywood actress with a life as tragic as the heroines she portrayed. Despite passing away early in life, the Mughal-e-Azam and Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi starlet had left behind an illustrious career and established herself as one of the most prominent faces of post-Independence Bollywood.

Continue reading on as we delve into a definitive ranking of Madhubala's best movies along with a guide on where to stream them all.

From Barsaat Ki Raat to Half Ticket: A look at the best of Madhubala

While she hailed from a conservative family that didn’t really find cinema to be a respectable industry, Mumtaz Jehan Begum Dehlavi began her tryst with acting from a young age (cast as “Baby Mutaz” in her child artiste years). Soon, she took up the nom de plume Madhubala and earned acclaim as a leading lady, even becoming the highest-paid Bollywood actress of the 1950s.

Maha marked Madhubala's debut as a leading lady, where she portrayed Kamini, a hauntingly beautiful woman entwined in a tale of reincarnation and forbidden love. Her ethereal presence and haunting performance set the stage for her illustrious career to come.

Today, the late Madhubala is known for her portrayal of the ill-fated court dancer Anarkali in the Mughal-themed epic Mughal-e-Azam. But Madhubala is much more than Anarkali and other tragic heroines, as is evident from her occasionally light-hearted roles in cult classics like Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi and Half Ticket (both starring opposite husband Kishore Kumar) and Guru Dutt’s Mr and Mrs 55.

Half Ticket showcased Madhubala's energetic and bubbly personality as a city girl charmed with Kumar’s protagonist, a simpleton with childlike sensibilities. In Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, Madhubala showcased her comedic prowess as Renu, a spirited woman entangled in a love triangle with three brothers. Her chemistry with co-star Kishore Kumar added to the film's charm, making it a beloved comedy of its time. It’s only unfortunate that Kumar and Madhubala’s real-life romance didn’t work out like the movies.

As for Mr. and Mrs. 55 (directed by and starring Guru Dutt), the 1955 romantic comedy saw Madhubala in a delightful role as Anita Verma, a modern woman caught in a whirlwind romance with a cartoonist. Her portrayal of Anita's vivaciousness and independence resonated with audiences, earning her praise for her nuanced performance.

Coming to her more dramatic roles, Barsaat Ki Raat is a major case in point with Madhubala portraying Shabnam, a woman torn between love and duty in the backdrop of poetic romance and traditional values. Her emotive portrayal added depth to the character, making her a standout in the ensemble cast.

Similarly, Howrah Bridge saw Madhubala in the role of Edna, a cabaret dancer entangled in a web of intrigue and mystery while the freedom movement-era drama Kala Pani showcased Madhubala in a dramatic role as Radha, a woman embroiled in the struggle for justice and freedom.

Why is Mughal-e-Azam the best Madhubala movie to watch?

Mughal-e-Azam stands as a timeless classic in Indian cinema, where Madhubala portrayed Anarkali, a courtesan who captures the heart of Prince Salim (Dilip Kumar). Her portrayal of Anarkali's grace and defiance against societal norms amidst a backdrop of grandeur and romance remains etched in cinematic history. The narrative revolves around Salim and Anarkali’s forbidden love affair that draws the disapproval of the reigning Mughal emperor Akbar (Prithviraj Kapoor). The ensuing discord is captured with tragic beauty in vibrantly spectacular song-and-dance numbers and emotionally poignant dialogues.

Where can you stream the best Madhubala movies?

You can watch most of Madhubala’s highest-rated movies on streaming platforms like ZEE5, Prime Video, Vi Movies and TV and Shemaroo.

Set among warring factions of demons and armed demon hunters, the series kicks off with adolescent hero Tanjiro Kamado avenging the deaths of his family and the transformation of his sister, Nezuko, into a demon. Vowing to turn his sibling human, Tanjiro fearlessly embarks on a quest to become the greatest demon slayer of them all.

Despite a fairly straightforward premise, the anime is rich in details ranging from the different kinds of titular villains and some cutting edge fight sequences. There are three movies succeeding each season so far with the first one being Mugen Train, a commercial and critical success at the Japanese and global box office. The 2020 film still remains undisputed as the highest-grossing anime and Japanese film in the world.

The next movie was To The Swordsmith Village, which was essentially a recap of the last two episodes of the anime’s sophomore season along with additional footage from the third season premiere (which was yet to be released at the time).

A similar compilation-cum-recap film was To The Hashira Training which combined the third season’s finale with the fourth season’s premiere.

Where can you stream Demon Slayer in order?

All seasons of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba are available to stream on Netflix and Crunchyroll. Among the movies, The Mugen Train can be streamed on Crunchyroll.

How to Watch Neon Genesis Evangelion In Order: A Streaming Guide

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

    JustWatch Editor

Neon Genesis Evangelion is an anime classic from the 1990s, one that blends mecha robot action with coming-of-age arcs and profound concepts of religion, philosophy, and the very essence of life itself. While the original anime series lasted for a single season of 26 episodes, the franchise evolved to incorporate many films that can confuse the viewer in terms of narrative.

If you are curious about where to start with Neon Genesis Evangelion, we have a streaming guide that will kickstart your journey into the surreal world of Hideaki Anno’s iconic anime.

How to watch Neon Genesis Evangelion in order

Beginners to the franchise can start by watching the original anime series which presents a complete story on its own. Evangelion: Death(true)2 serves as a skippable follow-up which is essentially an hour-long recap of the entire series.

After finishing the anime, some viewers can also choose to watch the film The End of Evangelion which offers a different ending, replacing the anime’s final two episodes.

    Original series:

    • Neon Genesis Evangelion (1995-1996)

    • Evangelion: Death(true)2 (1998)

    • The End of Evangelion (1997)

A decade later, a new Neon Genesis film series sought to retell the story of the entire anime with some additional subplots and characters. Titled the “Rebuild of Evangelion”, the four films in this series can be watched in the same order as their release date.

    Rebuild of Evangelion series:

    • Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone (2007)

    • Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance (2009)

    • Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo (2012)

    • Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time (2021)

Regardless of which series you choose to watch first, the general premise remains the same. Set in a post-apocalyptic Japan plagued by gargantuan alien creatures called “Angels”, the humans set out to fight them in biomechanical mecha suits known as Evangelion. However, the anime is more than just a good vs evil saga as each suit requires a teenage pilot of sound mind.

With protagonist Shinji Ikari and two other pilots in the forefront, the anime explores the mental and physical limits to which the trio is tested. Instead of just taking down their extraterrestrial enemies, Shinji and the others must also discover the very cause of human actions and confront their own deepest fears, making Neon Genesis Evangelion a more psychologically-motivated watch than other conventional anime series. This might appear like Gundam on the surface but this is not your average robots-fighting-aliens anime.

Why does Neon Genesis Evangelion have multiple endings?

Despite boasting impressive animation and profound storytelling throughout, the budget for Neon Genesis Evangelion’s original anime ran out towards the final few episodes. This led the story to be wrapped up quicker than expected and viewers got a two-part finale that was filled with hallucinatory sequences and a mind-numbing open-ended conclusion.

While many anime fans have gone on to appreciate the complex and abstract ending years later, initial responses were more mixed. To clear the air around the final two episodes, director Hideaki Anno later got involved in a theatrical release The End of Evangelion that sought to offer a clearer perspective on the ending.

But continuing discussion and speculation on the ending of NGE led to a total reboot with four movies that formed the Rebuild the Evangelion series. Apart from fleshing out the anime arcs even further, the intent of the reboot movies was also to introduce the world of Evangelion to new fans at the time.

Where can you stream Neon Genesis Evangelion in order?

One can watch the original Neon Genesis Evangelion anime, Evangelion: Death(true)2, and The End of Evangelion on Netflix. All movies of Rebuild the Evangelion series can be watched on Amazon Prime Video.

The movie increased the stakes of the anime with Midoriya and the other Japanese heroes joining the global Pro-Heroes league to foil a terrorist conspiracy that can alter the entire world.

If you have been a fan of Robert Downey Jr’s timeless character, we’ve got you covered with a guide on where to stream all the Iron Man movies in order.

How to watch the Iron Man movies in order

The Iron Man movies can be watched in the same order as their release date.

    • Iron Man

    • Iron Man 2

    • Iron Man 3

Jon Favreau’s Iron Man offers a straightforward origin story, tracing the evolution of “millionaire, playboy, genius” Tony Stark as a weapons dealer, a terrorist hostage, and later, an armored avenger.

Iron Man 2 raises the stakes by throwing in villains like the vengeance-seeking Russian Whiplash and weapons industry competitor Justin Hammer. Also supporting Iron Man this time are SHIELD head honcho Nick Fury and the future Avenger: Black Widow.

Iron Man 3 marked an emotional conclusion to the Iron Man trilogy, covering Stark’s post-traumatic stress after the events of The Avengers. While facing off against a global threat like Mandarin, Stark also encounters his own inner demons as he realises he’s not the hero who he once was.

Where can you stream the Iron Man movies?

You can’t watch the Iron Man movies on any OTT platforms in India but they are all available to rent on Google Play movies, YouTube movies, Amazon, Apple TV, and Tata Play.

What’s the future of Iron Man movies?

The MCU expands upon the Iron Man armors with the upcoming Disney series Ironheart. The 2024 release will focus on adolescent inventor RiRi Williams as she builds an armor from scratch, one that rivals Stark’s technology. Much like other Marvel Disney+ collaborations, Ironheart will be available to stream on Hotstar in India.

Ironheart will eventually give way to a movie sequel Armor Wars. Not much is known about the plot but the title suggests inspirations from the comic of the same name. That means, we are bound to get many more armored Avengers!

Are there any Iron Man TV shows to watch?

While not connected to the Iron Man trilogy and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Iron Man has previously led two animated shows (both of which are standalone entries). The first is Iron Man from the 1990s, which you can watch today on Hotstar. Next in line is 2009’s 3D animated anime-inspired Iron Man: Armored Adventures that captures Stark in his younger years. You can watch the coming-of-age series on Netflix.

Is there any Iron Man anime to watch?

For the ones seeking more armored adventures, there’s also an Iron Man anime film titled Iron Man: Rise of Technovore. The direct-to-DVD film finds Iron Man framed by a technological terrorist as he attempts to clear his name. You can watch it for free on Jio Cinema.

When Steve Rogers volunteered to be injected with a super-soldier serum in 1941 in an effort to fight the Nazis in WWII, he became Captain America – the very first hero of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). This was only the beginning of the “first Avenger” and his crime-fighting adventures, and the Marvel hero is now the titular character of 4 MCU movies.

    • Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)

    • Captain America: Civil War (2016)

    • Captain America: Brave New World (2025)

The chronological viewing order for the Captain America movies is the same sequence as their release order. His story begins in Captain America: The First Avenger, released in 2011. However, The First Avenger leads to a dramatic sacrifice that will change Captain America’s life forever.

After saving the world with his fellow avengers, The Winter Soldier presents Captain America with a moral dilemma when his best friend Bucky Barnes – aka the titular Winter Soldier – is resurrected and used as a brain-washed assassin.

The Winter Soldier marked the MCU debut of directing duo Joe and Anthony Russo, who would go on to direct Captain America’s next movie, Civil War. The movie takes place after the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron, as the Marvel heroes are confronted with avoiding the collateral damage they previously caused. It features an ambitious team-up event that divides Earth’s mightiest heroes between Team Cap and Team Iron Man.

How to Watch the Death Note Franchise In Order: A Streaming Guide

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

    JustWatch Editor

Having immersed many an Indian “weeb” into the anime world, Death Note endures as a cult classic more than a decade since its Japanese premiere in 2006. Having spawned numerous live-action adaptations and spin-offs, it can get a bit tricky to keep track of the Death Note franchise. We’ve got you covered with a definitive guide to watch all things Death Note in order and where to stream them.

How to watch Death Note in order?

The original 37-episode-long anime Death Note can be watched as a standalone installment on its own. The series revolves around the antiheroic exploits of Light Yagami, a youngster who comes across a life-changing notebook on which any name that he writes is destined to die. Accompanied by the shinigami (spirit) Ryuk, Light’s homicidal scribbling makes him cross paths with ominous hacker L, Yagami’s own lawman father, and the who’s who of the Japanese mafia.

The Japanese live-action Death Note movies, however, can be watched in the same order as their release date. A web series Death Note: New Generation is also sandwiched in between the movies.

    • Death Note (2006)

    • Death Note 2: The Last Name (2006)

    • L: Change the World (2008)

    • Death Note: New Generation (2016)

    • Death Note: Light Up The New World (2016)

The movies largely follow the same premise as the comics but L: Change The World acts as a standalone spinoff for the movie’s take on the character L. Death Note: New Generations was a three-episode long web series that took place directly from the events of Death Note 2: The Last Name and L: Change the World.

In 2015, a Japanese live-action adaptation of Death Note was also broadcast, faithfully recreated from the original manga.

Additionally, Netflix produced a 2017 Hollywood movie adaptation too, simply called Death Note. Despite boasting mainstream names like Nat Wolff, Willem Dafoe, and LaKeith Stanfield, the film was panned universally and the sequels that it teased in the end were all scraped off.

Are there any future Death Note shows being made?

Despite the disaster of Netflix’s 2017 Death Note movie, the streaming platform has commissioned Stranger Things showrunners The Duffer Brothers to conceive a new Death Note live-action TV series. The release date remains unknown for now.

Where can you stream Death Note in order?

The Death Note anime, live-action TV adaptation, and Hollywood adaptation are all available to watch on Netflix. The other live-action movies aren’t available to stream in India at the moment.

10 Best Anime TV shows like Solo Leveling – Your Streaming Guide

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

    JustWatch Editor

Based on the Korean manwha (comic) of the same name, MAPPA Studios anime Solo Leveling broke out as the first major anime of 2024. If you are looking for similar anime series with underdog protagonists, a diverse world of monsters and monster hunters, and fast-paced action, we’ve got you covered with a streaming guide to anime TV shows just like Solo Leveling and where to stream them online. We'll also let you know if they are available to stream for free.

    Jujutsu Kaisen

Just like Solo Leveling, Jujutsu Kaisen is a finely animated cult favourite by studio MAPPA. Subverting shounen anime tropes, JJK finds goofy protagonist Yuji Itadori navigating his way through a multitude of sorcerers warding off their curses. Much like Solo Leveling’s Sung Jin-Woo striving to find his identity among monster hunters, Itadori aims to rise to the top.

    Goblin Slayer

Goblin Slayer is another visually dazzling recommendation, incorporating Japanese dark fantasy themes in a premise centered around the titular antihero. Killing every goblin in his vicinity, Goblin Slayer’s morality comes into question when he crosses paths with a young priestess.

    Chainsaw Man

Chainsaw Man also deserves a spot on your watchlist if you hunger for Solo Leveling's adrenaline-fueled action sequences. Unabashedly bloody and raunchy, Chainsaw Man yet again proves why MAPPA is the most innovative studio in the anime world right now.

    Bleach

If you prefer sword-wielding protagonists like the ones in Solo Leveling or just the humans-versus-monsters binary in anime, Bleach is an all-time classic. Replace monsters with spirits from another world and you have a compelling narrative in Bleach, one that has gone on to endure in many spin-off series and movies.

    Gintama

Gintama is a genre mishmash that sticks the landing with its alternate take on samurai-era Japan, one where freelance samurai roam in the backdrop of retro-futuristic aliens. Much like Solo Leveling's monster hunters, the samurai of Gintama are not glamorised to be fearless heroes but rather humanized caricatures of warriors.

The Daily Life of the Immortal King

The Daily Life of the Immortal King is a fantasy anime that reminds us that beyond other worldly challenges, the real Herculean task can be facing the real world itself. So, in this immersive anime, a near-invincible “cultivation genius capable of achieving new realms” faces the perils of… high school.

    Sword Art Online

Sword Art Online is another binge-worthy watch for Solo Leveling fans, given its worldbuilding scope. The action begins in a vast multiplayer role-playing game, one in which many gamers are trapped in their avatars. It’s up to one lonely drifter in the game to find a way out.

    Mashle

Mashle, one of the most popular anime series in recent years, is another anime that handles fantasy worlds with adolescent humour in the same vein as Solo Leveling. Anime fans usually describe the coming-of-age magic-themed anime as “Saitama (One Punch Man) meets Harry Potter”. Expect a Hogwarts-like magic academy with endless imagination.

    Frieren

Frieren, a more recent addition to the fantasy anime lists, has immediately spawned a cult fandom despite being based on a relatively niche manga. Solo Leveling might capture the build-up to a storm but Frieren covers the calm “after” the storm. An elf warrior and compatriots must face the aftermath of a demon war, realising that some quests remain incomplete even after the battle has been won.

    My Hero Academia

A trendsetting shounen anime with superhero influences, My Hero Academia is an anime that even non-anime fans can get into quite easily. Set within a superhero school training the next generation of heroes, MHA follows the journey of one Izuku Midoriya as he gives it all to become the protector of his generation, the same conviction that makes an inferior monster hunter like Sung Jin-Woo test his limits in Solo Leveling.

Where can I watch anime TV shows similar to Solo Leveling?

Below you can find streaming information for the 10 best anime TV shows that are similar to Solo Leveling. This includes the latest information on where to stream them on services such as Netflix, Crunchyroll and Prime Video. We'll also let you know if you can legally watch them for free online.

20 Best Vikrant Movies And TV Shows And Where To Watch Them

Vikrant Massey became a TV heartthrob in the 2010s but he was meant for bigger things as he set out to carve his own niche in Bollywood. From dramas like A Death in the Gunj and 12th Fail to streaming hits like Mirzapur and Criminal Justice, Massey is on his way to become a household name and we’ve curated his best movies and TV shows to watch in this streaming guide.

What are Vikrant Massey’s essential movies to watch?

While Massey initially began his Bollywood stint with supporting roles, his performances and career choices have mostly been top-tier. So, the period romance Lootera and the dysfunctional family comedy Dil Dhadakne Do might only feature Massey in limited capacities but have endured as modern Bollywood classics.

Massey’s supporting roles can also be found in acclaimed arthouse picks and social message dramas like his portrayals of supportive romantics in the feminist satire Lipstick Under My Burkha and the biopic of acid attack survivor-turned-activist Laxmi Agarwal in Chhapaak. On the flipside, he has also played more morally grey and sly characters in the tragicomedy Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi and the social drama Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitaare.

As a lead actor, Massey’s pursuits include genre-bending experiments like the space comedy Cargo and Konkana Sen’s stellar directorial debut A Death in the Gunj. The latter proved to be one of his breakout roles with Massey playing a mentally fragile student finding his identity amidst a chaotic Anglo-Indian family in the 1970s.

Massey’s most popular lead role would be that of the dreamy-eyed IAS exam aspirant Manoj Kumar in 12th Fail, a performance that won him a Filmfare Award for Best Actor (Critics’).

Where to get started with Vikrant Massey’s TV shows

An outsider who made his way into the Hindi film industry after a slew of auditions, Vikrant Massey wasn’t an overnight success. So, to get into his filmography, it’s worth revisiting some of the TV shows that earned him early fame.

Balika Vadhu, the Colors TV original, is a case in point. The social drama explored the perils of child marriage in Rajasthan with Massey appearing later in the series as one of  the supporting characters’ romantic interest Shyam Singh.

Another social drama that Massey dabbled in later was Qubool Hai, the Zee production that attempted to take on social stigmas and patriarchy within a conservative Muslim family. But with Massey giving up his TV career to try his hands at acting in films, eventually gave way to bigger and better shows on streaming platforms.

A quintessential watch will be the first season of Amazon Prime Video’s trendsetting gangster saga Mirzapur. Revolving around the blood-stained politics and crime of the titular Uttar Pradesh town, Mirzapur found Massey playing Vinay "Bablu" Pandit, a promising student who is pushed to a criminal conspiracy along with his hot-headed brother Guddu (Ali Fazl).

Over the years, Massey’s streaming titles included an emotional portrayal of a falsely-accused jail inmate in the first season of Criminal Justice, a Hotstar original remake of the acclaimed HBO crime drama The Night Of, and a guest appearance as yet another wholesome romantic Nawab Khan in the Prime Video hit Made In Heaven.

Why is 12th Fail Vikrant Massey’s best movie to watch?

Subtle emotional cues, acting with his eyes, and bringing an inspirational rags-to-riches story to life. What’s not to love about the underdog saga 12th Fail? Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s direction provided ample ground for Massey to shine with his subtle brand of emotionality.

Where can you stream Vikrant Massey’s movies and TV shows?

Massey’s older TV work can be found on streaming platforms like Jio Cinema and ZEE5 while most of his later movies and shows are also originals on Netflix, Prime Video, and Hotstar.

30 Best Aishwarya Rai Movies and Where to Watch Them

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

Miss World titleholder in 1994. Bollywood actress with critically acclaimed Tamil works and popular Hollywood titles on the side. There is a lot that Aishwarya Rai has achieved in her life, establishing her as one of India’s most prominent actresses and models. If you are a diehard Aishwarya Rai fan or new to her works, we have got you covered with a definitive streaming guide to her filmography through the years.

From Iruvar to Jodhaa Akbar - How to get started with Aishwarya Rai’s filmography?

A talented and versatile star like Aishwarya Rai is bound to have a diverse track record, offering both mainstream blockbusters and more niche critically-acclaimed picks. Despite starting out as a model, Rai’s Miss World win in 1994 was followed by a surprisingly profound acting debut in auteur Mani Ratnam’s political epic Iruvar.

However, it was the 1998 Tamil romantic drama Jeans that marked her first commercial hit, also holding the record for being India’s most expensive film at the time. Rai eventually moved to Bollywood, heralding her arrival with two classic romantic dramas directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali: Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas.

Both movies were favoured by critics and audiences alike, earning Rai two Filmfare Awards for Best Actress. Be it Nandini Darbar in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam or Paro in Devdas, both roles had her channeling tragically dramatic energy as women caught in between increasingly passionate romances disapproved of by society.

Finding mainstream success, Rai also ventured into other languages such as the Bengali period romance Chokher Bali (in which she played the part of a widow striving for sexual liberation). She would later reunite with her Chokher Bali director Rituparno Ghosh to play an unhappy wife in the Hindi-drama Raincoat, another critically acclaimed highlight.

Iruvar’s Mani Ratnam is also a recurring collaborator with Rai having acted in the rags-to-riches drama Guru and the Ramayana-inspired thriller Raavan (both also starring her husband Abhishek Bachchan). Even after years of taking a step back from acting, Rai returned to the big screen as a scheming royal in Ratnam’s two part period saga Ponniyin Selvan.

The Tamil historical epic Ponniyin Selvan wasn’t her first flirtation with the genre as she previously also drew raves for playing Rajput queen Jodhabai alongside Hrithik Roshan’s Mughal emperor Akbar in the ambitious historical epic Jodha Akbar. Alongside Roshan, Rai also starred in the heist thriller Dhoom 2 and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s tragic human drama Guzaarish.

While Rai’s on-screen appearances have been more sporadic in the 2010s, the decade also witnessed some of her biggest commercial successes like the Rajinikanth-led sci-fi actioner Enthiran (Robot) and Karan Johar’s ensemble romance Ae Dil Hai Muskhil.

Aishwarya Rai’s Hollywood movies to watch

Starting with the British drama Provoked, Rai has also gone on to occasionally act overseas. While Provoked found her playing a woman who accidentally murders her husband, she later appeared as a charming criminologist in The Pink Panther 2, a clairvoyant seductress in The Mistress of Spices, and also starred in Bride and Prejudice, Gurinder Chadha’s Indian adaptation of Pride and Prejudice.

Why is Iruvar Aishwarya Rai’s best movie to watch?

Starring alongside Tamil character actor Prakash Raj and Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, Aishwarya Rai held her own in her debut film as an ambitious woman climbing up the political ladder. The movie, supposedly inspired by the lives of real-life Tamil Nadu politicians M Karunanidhi, MG Ramachandran, and Jayalalitha, succeeds at exploring the nuances of its morally grey leads and remains one of Mani Ratnam’s finest ventures to this day.

Where can you stream Aishwarya Rai’s best movies?

Aishwarya Rai’s immense popularity implies that most of her movies are available on popular streaming platforms like Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hotstar, Eros Now, and Lionsgate Play. You can watch some of her Tamil movies on Aha and Sun NXT as well.

Chiranjeevi, often hailed as the "Megastar" of Telugu cinema, boasts a prolific filmography spanning over four decades. If you are a newbie to the actor-politician’s film career or one of his diehard fans, we have got you covered with a definitive streaming guide to his best movies so that you can know what to watch and where to stream.

From Indra to Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy: How to start with Chiranjeevi’s filmography?

While primarily taking on action roles from his younger years to even now (with his son Ram Charan also excelling as an actor in his own right), Chiranjeevi has enjoyed a stellar commercial film career for years.

To get into his massy action entertainers, Indra can be a good starting point. In Indra, Chiranjeevi mesmerizes as Indrasena Reddy, a powerful and righteous leader who battles against injustice and corruption. His commanding presence and intense portrayal of the character earned him widespread acclaim, solidifying his status as a megastar of Telugu cinema.

An older action classic from even before Indra is Tagore in which Chiranjeevi shines as Professor Tagore, a vigilante who fights against corruption. Khaidi, Stalin, Gang Leader, and Vijetha further demonstrate Chiranjeevi's prowess as an action hero, with each film featuring him in dynamic and memorable roles that showcase his physical prowess and on-screen charisma.

Occasionally Chiranjeevi can strike an emotional chord with particularly nuanced roles that rely more on his dramatic prowess than action star charisma. A case in point is Swayam Krushi that finds him playing a compassionate cobbler striving to provide education to underprivileged children. His sensitive portrayal of the empathetic protagonist resonated deeply with audiences, highlighting his ability to evoke empathy and emotion on screen.

Some of his best genre detours include the fantasy comedy Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari and the medical comedy Shankar Dada MBBS. While the former sees Chiranjeevi as Raju, a reincarnated prince who battles against evil forces, the latter was a remake of the Bollywood cult comedy Munnabhai MBBS with Chiranjeevi playing a local goon who changes his ways after joining medical school.

While Chiranjeevi’s recent work has often polarized critics and reviews, a notable highlight from this later stage has been the historical action epic Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. Set a decade before the trailblazing Revolt of 1857, the biopic honours the freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy who led his forces against the tyrannical East India Company. The movie also found him sharing screen space with other Indian A-listers like Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan and Tamil character actor Vijay Sethupathi.

Why is Rudra Veena Chiranjeevi’s best movie to watch?

Perhaps his most socially impactful movie, Rudra Veena featured Chiranjeevi in a socially conscious role as Shiva Kesava, a singer who confronts caste discrimination. His nuanced performance in this critically acclaimed film highlights his versatility, earning him accolades for his portrayal of the complex protagonist. Rudra Veena bears testimony to the fact that with the right script, Chiranjeevi can be more than just a mainstream action hero.

Where can you stream Chiranjeevi’s best movies?

You can watch most of Chiranjeevi’s older movies on Amazon Prime Video, Aha, and Eros Now. As for his newer titles, you can try either Prime Video or Netflix. Jio Cinema and ZEE5 also offer some options that are free to watch, such as Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari and Tagore.

20 Best Karthi Movies and Where to Watch Them

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

    JustWatch Editor

Karthi is a Tamil superstar with a slight edge to him as instead of sticking to formulaic action hero tropes, the Ponniyian Selvan and Kaithi actor evokes a charismatic energy that is unique only to him. If you were wondering where to start with Karthi’s filmography, we’ve got you covered with the best Karthi movies along with a handy guide to stream them.

From Paruthiveeran to Madras: How to get started with Kaithi’s movies?

Before he became a three-time Filmfare Award winner, Karthi was born in a family of film professionals. Not only is his father veteran actor Sivakumar but his older brother is Suriya, the Tamil megastar behind hits like Singham and Jai Bheem.

Karthi made a stellar acting debut as the titular character in the 2007 social drama Paruthiveeran. Karthi and Priyamani shone in their performances as two lovers who defy caste boundaries and societal norms in a village near Madurai. Karthi earned his first Filmfare for Best Actor and never looked back from acting.

To witness a more commercial side of Karthi, you can always watch his popular titles like the action-romance Paiyaa (starring opposite Tamannah Bhatia), and Siruthai (a remake of SS Rajamouli’s Telugu actioner Vikramarkudu).

Some of his action films that have subverted the massy action formula in favour of more passionate personal arcs and social themes include Naan Mahaan Alla and Madras. The former found Karthi playing an unemployed slacker who picks up arms to protect his father from a ruthless gang. As for Madras, Pa. Ranjith’s acclaimed political action drama starred him and Kalaiyarasan as two rival political party workers who go against each other’s throats to lay a claim over a wall.

Another great example of his introspective brand of action hero is Theeran Adhigaram Ondru, a cop drama that found Karthi playing a hard nosed man of the law waging a crusade against a band of dacoits along a highway. However, instead of serving as a familiar good-vs-evil drama, Karthi’s career-defining performance explores the morally gray lines between justice and vigilantism.

Occasionally, Karthi can venture into comical territory such as the tearjerker slice-of-life drama Oopiri in which he played a caretaker to a reclusive wheelchair-bound rich man (played by Nagarjuna). The Tamil remake of the French cult favourite The Intouchables, Oopiri was a good way for Karthi to break typecast.

Then came more hits like the first film in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe: Kaithi. Playing a recently-released prisoner who must fight again to protect his daughter, Kaithi was a critical and commercial success and paved the way for a shared universe for other action thrillers by director Lokesh Kanagaraj like Vikram and Leo.

Fresh off the success of Kaithi, Karthi went on to reunite with his old mentor Mani Ratnam as one of the leads in Ratnam’s Chola-era two-part epic Ponniyin Selvan. Based on the classic Tamil novel of the same name, both Ponniyin Selvan movies were set in ancient India during the reign of the Chola dynasty. Revolving around a political conspiracy to remove the Cholas from power, the movies found Karthi playing Vanthiyathevan, a local chieftain loyal to the throne.

Why is Madras Karthi’s best movie to watch?

Madras marked a new era for Karthi as critics began taking him more seriously in terms of his creative choices, dialogue delivery, and dramatic range. No longer was he just beating up bad guys. This time around, he was expressing urban angst of a tumultuous period and taking on gritty characters written by socially-relevant filmmakers like Ranjith.

Where can you stream Karthi’s best movies?

You can watch Karthi’s movies on mainstream OTT platforms like Netflix and Prime Video along with South Indian-specific services like Sun NXT, Aha, and Manorama Max.

10 Best Anees Bazmee Movies and Where to Stream Them

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

    JustWatch Editor

Aneez Bazmee is a heavyweight director when it comes to mainstream Bollywood comedies, thanks to the quintessential 2000s-era over-the-top theatrics of Welcome, No Entry, and Singh Is Kinng. Here’s a definitive ranking of the best Anees Bazmee films and a handy guide to stream them all.

Where can you stream Anees Bazmee’s filmography?

Most of Aneez Bazmee’s popular credits like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Sandwich, and Welcome among others, are available to stream on popular OTT services like Netflix, Prime Video, and ZEE5. Sony LIV, Lionsgate Play, and Eros Now are also good options to stream the rest of his filmography while Ready can be rented on YouTube movies and Google Play Store.

You can also watch Welcome and its sequel Welcome Back for free on Jio Cinema, ZEE5, and Shemaroo.

Once you’ve sorted your Anees Bazmee watchlist, look at the comedy director’s track record over the years.

Early Start with Thrillers like Deewangee

Despite making a career out of directing comedies, Bazmee initially started out with thrillers. His directorial debut was the Ajay Devgn-led action thriller Hulchul which failed to make much of a mark. A warmer reception was received by his sophomore thriller Deewangee, a Hindi remake of the Richard Gere and Edward Norton-starrer Primal Fear.

Comedy Breakout with No Entry and Welcome

Following Deewangee, Bazmee tried to tickle his audience’s funny bone and stuck to it for the decades to come. His first comedy was No Entry, a commercial and critical success with a stellar ensemble led by frequent collaborators Anil Kapoor and Salman Khan. The movie, known today for its catchy songs and quotable one-liners, is a raunchy comedy revolving around a web of lies about cheating husbands and their womanizing friends.

Similar themes were echoed in his next movie Sandwich, a comedy starring Govinda as a man caught between his two wives. The film underperformed at the box office and Bazmee failed to replicate the No Entry success. However, in 2007, his fate turned in his favour again with Welcome.

The 2007 comedy of errors starred Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif as a couple in love caught within the drama around two bumbling gangster brothers (played to perfection by Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar). Welcome was an instant hit and remains a cult comedy till today.

Sequel experiments with Welcome Back and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2

Following Welcome, Bazmee continued exploring his recurring themes of failed marriages, infidelities, and romances interrupted by snobby families with movies like No Problem, Thank You, Mubarakan, and Ready. But while honing his familiar tropes, Bazmee also took time to work on sequels to iconic comedies. One was Welcome Back, a gangster comedy that served as a direct sequel to his own Welcome (sans Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif this time).

The other was the supernatural comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. The latter initially aroused criticism for Kartik Aaryan starred as the lead instead of the preceding movie’s Akshay Kumar. But upon release, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 subverted audience expectations and earned Bazmee his first-ever Filmfare nomination for Best Director.

Why is Welcome Anees Bazmee’s best movie?

With tongue-in-cheek dialogues immortalised in memes and slapstick-mannered characters like Dr Ghungroo and Majnu Bhai that still dominate Indian pop culture, Welcome is arguably Anees Bazmee’s career-best film. Welcome is loud and silly with a sense of self-awareness, aging only better after more than a decade since its release. For many a Bollywood comedy fan, Welcome continues to be their comfort watch.

The World’s Greatest Heroes have helmed some of the world’s highest-grossing movies. If you wish to binge on all the Avengers movies within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), we have got you covered with a streaming guide to watch them all in order. Avengers Assemble!

How to watch the Avengers movies in order

Much like most of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies and TV shows, the Avengers movies can be fortunately watched in the same order as their release date.

    • The Avengers (2012)

    • Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)

    • Avengers: Infinity War (2018)

    • Avengers: Endgame (2019)

The first Avengers movie was the MCU’s first ensemble-driven adventure and featured six Avengers uniting to fight against the Asgardian demigod Loki’s forces. In Age of Ultron, the teamcount was increased with new additions like siblings Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch as they take down the titular villain Ultron, the sentient Artificial Intelligence created by occasional team leader Tony Stark (Iron Man).

The last two Avengers movies were monumental chapters in the franchise as they concluded Marvel’s Infinity Saga with a multitude of Avengers teaming up across different dimensions and timelines to prevent the Mad Titan Thanos from wielding the universe-altering Infinity Gauntlet.

While the first two Avengers movies can still be watched as standalone movies with some background context, Infinity War and Endgame are directly interconnected with the former ending on an open-ended conclusion that the latter resolved a year later.

Will there be any more Avengers movies in the future?

While Endgame marked the retirement of Captain America and Iron Man, the legacy of Avengers carries on with the other members and many new recruits in future MCU chapters. These threads will hopefully be joined together for another Thanos-like universal threat in Avengers: 5 and Avengers: Secret Wars. Both movies are expected to release subsequently in 2026 and 2027 respectively.

Are there any Avengers TV series to stream?

Apart from the MCU movies, Disney and Marvel have also had a few Avengers animated series like The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and Marvel’s Avengers, both of which are available to stream on Hotstar.

Where can you watch the Avengers movies in order?

All the Avengers movies (except Avengers: Age of Ultron) are available to watch in 4K on Hotstar. Avengers: Age of Ultron and the other three big-budget superhero movies are also available to rent on Google Play Movies, YouTube, Amazon, Apple TV, and Tata Play.

“I’ll be back.” Arnold Schwarzenegger made a career out of three iconic words over multiple decades as a red-eyed cybernetic robot in the Terminator franchise. If you wish to binge watch all the Terminator movies in order, we have got you covered with a guide to stream all the post-apocalyptic, time-traveling adventures.

How to watch the Terminator movies in order

Chronology is quite a puzzling issue when it comes to the Terminator movies. While the first three movies can be watched in the same order as their release date, matters get complicated with all the movies that came out in the 2010s as these included indirect follow-ups, spiritual sequels, and even a reboot of the entire franchise.

It’s for this reason the Terminator movies can be watched in three different orders.

Let’s get started with the classic pattern of watching them.

    • The Terminator (1984)

    • Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)

    • Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003)

    • Terminator Salvation (2009)

Along with the aforementioned chronological timeline, Terminator: Genisys (2015) acts as a reboot of the franchise acting as a parallel story alongside the original Terminator. So, you can watch it as a standalone movie.

    • Terminator Genisys (2015)

Then comes Terminator: Dark Fate that ignores all events of other 2000s and 2010s movies and serves as a direct sequel to Terminator 2: Judgment Day. This gives us a new order to watch them.

    • The Terminator (1984)

    • Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)

    • Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)

In the first and classic order of to watch The Terminator franchise, the first movie directed by James Cameron starts off with Sarah Connor being hunted down by a murderous robot from the future (the titular Terminator played by Arnold Schwarzenegger). Another time-traveler in this narrative is Kyle Reese, who would have a child with Sarah named John Connor, the leader of the future resistance against the robots engineered by the Artificial Intelligence network Skynet.

While Reese and the antagonistic T-800 Terminator die in the first film, Cameron’s sophomore entry to the franchise finds Sarah Connor and her teenage son John fighting against yet another robot from the future (the T-1000). Schwarzenegger returns as another T-800 (but one with good intentions) as the epic continues with an explosive, interstate road trip.

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines revolved around a grown-up John Connor in 2004. Next up is Terminator: Salvation that was set much further in the future with Connor finally living up to his fate and leading the resistance.

But when Terminator: Dark Fate (2019) brought back Sarah Connor into the timeline and shockingly killed off Terminator 2’s adolescent John Connor early on, the 2019 movie served as a direct sequel to Terminator 2 and ignored all the events of other entries in the franchise.

Where can you stream the Terminator movies?

The first movie is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video while you can watch Terminator 2: Judgment Day for free on Jio Cinema (although with ads in between). Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and Terminator: Salvation are both available on Sony LIV while Terminator: Genisys can be rented on Amazon, Apple TV, Google Play, and YouTube. Terminator: Dark Fate is similarly not available to stream but can be rented on Apple TV.

    JustWatch Editor

From the 2012 horror Pizza to the satirical Jigarthanda movies, Karthik Subbaraj has established himself as one of the freshest directors of Tamil cinema. We offer you a definitive ranking of every one of his directorial efforts, ranked from the most mediocre to the most acclaimed. And if you are wondering where to stream the director’s multi-genre efforts, we have you covered with a streaming guide.

Where can you stream Karthik Subbaraj’s filmography?

Sun NXT and Netflix are some of your best bets to stream Karthik Subbaraj movies. His collaboration with Dhanush Jigame Thandiram was exclusively a Netflix release while his Vikram-starrer Mahaan was a Prime Video release. You can also stream his Rajinikanth-led venture Petta for free on Jio Cinema.

    Pizza: Subbaraj’s breakout hit

The movie that put Karthik Subbaraj on the map was his directorial debut Pizza. A low-budget horror starring Tamil character actor Vijay Sethupathi (who hadn’t achieved mainstream success by then), Pizza revolved around a pizza delivery man's chilling encounters with a paranormal phenomenon on a night shift gone wrong.

The movie’s scares were fresh enough with some impeccable tension-building and Sethupathi’s convincing lead performance. More than a decade since its release and after several multi-lingual remakes, Pizza still remains a cult classic.

The Jigarthanda franchise: Subbaraj’s love letters to cinema

While Pizza marked Subbaraj’s creativity with limited budget, his 2014 gangster comedy Jigarthanda marked his stylistic flair for violence and satire. Echoing influences from his cinematic idol Qunetin Tarantino, Jigarthanda found a down-on-his-luck director collaborating with a rowdy gangster for an unexpected project. Immensely praised by critics and audiences, Jigarthanda wasn’t just a satire to pulpy crime dramas but a love letter to filmmaking itself.

These themes were touched upon yet again in a different setting in 2023 with Subbaraj helming a spiritual sequel Jigarthanda DoubleX. The Jigarthanda franchise is a binge-worthy amalgamation of Tamil cinema tropes, deadpan humor, and nods to Subbaraj’s influences like the aforementioned Tarantino and Western legend Clint Eastwood.

Mahaan, Petta, and more: Subbaraj and Tamil megastars

Following the success of Pizza and Jigarthanda, Karik Subbaraj went on to collaborate with some of the biggest Tamil superstars albeit with mixed results. So, while his pandemic release Mahaan featured a career-defining performance from Vikram as an honest teacher-turned-liquor baron, Petta turned out to be one of industry titan Rajinikanth’s less successful projects in recent years.

Additionally, his neo-noir crime comedy Jagame Thandiram succumbed to a style-over-substance approach despite a delightfully magnetic lead performance by Dhanush.

Independent anthologies and a Netflix project: What else has Subbaraj done?

Other than his feature films, Subbaraj has also involved himself in diverse anthology films like his segment in the 2015 indie Bench Talkies, Prime Video’s Puthum Pudhu Kaalai, and the Sri Lankan Civil War-set segment Peace in the Netflix series Navarasa.

Why is Jigarthanda DoubleX Karthik Subbaraj’s best movie?

Jigarthanda on its own is a memorable movie. But living up to its name, the prequel Jigarthanda DoubleX revamps its director-filming-gangster premise to a bigger, better, and more emotional level. In front of Subbaraj’s stylistic lens, choreographer-director Raghava Lawrence is a revelation as the menacing gangster-cum-Clint Eastwood aficionado Alliyus Caesar. Equally impressive is SJ Suryah as a fake director posing as Satyajit Ray’s student.

Easter Eggs are plenty for cinephiles but the ‘70s-era style is perfectly balanced with some socio-political elements that make the prequel all the more emotional. Audiences witness Caesar’s change of heart in the face of his forest community’s struggles with ecological degradation and police brutality, gritty realities that are addressed with enough sensitivity and relevance. Jigarthanda DoubleX celebrates Subbaraj’s own stylistic world but with some heartwarming earnestness instead of any shameless self-indulgence.

Within two decades, Fahadh Faasil has established himself as one of contemporary Indian cinema’s finest artistes. If you wish to go down a rabbit hole of this versatile Malayalam star’s heavily acclaimed filmography, we have got you covered with the definitive guide to his best movies and where you can watch them.

Where can you stream Fahadh Faasil’s best movies?

Most of Fahadh Faasil’s best movies are available to stream on mainstream OTT platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Lionsgate Play, and specific Indian ones like Hotstar, ZEE5, and Sun NXT. Most of Faasil’s post-pandemic releases have also been Netflix and Prime originals, ensuring that they stay on these streaming platforms.

Once you have got your Fahadh Faasil watchlist sorted, have a look at his diverse on-screen journey so far.

Fahadh Faasil’s career at a glance

While far from being a conventional nepo kid, Fahadh Faasil was still born in an artistic family with his father being the acclaimed Malayalam cinema director Fazil. His father had helmed many hits in Kerala but he couldn’t launch his son in the industry that easily. Faasil’s acting debut in his father’s romance Kaiyethum Doorath failed to make a mark in both critical and commercial terms.

The disappointment hit Faasil hard who took a sabbatical from the craft for seven years until he returned in a segment in the anthology Kerala Cafe. 2011 was a notable year for his performance in the thriller Chaappa Kurishu which earned him some positive reactions. Faasil starred as a wealthy builder whose life gets intertwined with that of a working-class man over an ominous phone call.

Further critical acclaim was to follow with 2012 projects like the harrowing thriller 22 Female Kottayam and the feel-good medical romantic drama Diamond Necklace. He won his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor, for his role as a sexual assault victim’s partner in 22 Female Kottayam.

It was in the latter half of the 2010s when Faasil began to really shine for his dramatic prowess. An artiste who can convey a lot with just his eyes, Faasil emphasised on subtle physicality and a chameleon-like versatility instead of fixating with a loud, masala-heavy brand of heroism. Be it in his native language Malayalam or occasional Tamil and Telugu segues, Faasil has excelled in both lead and supporting parts.

Even when Faasil is playing villainous characters, the actor asserts a layer of vulnerability and depth to humanise these characters. A few cases in point include the 2017 drama Thondi Muthalum Driksakshiyum, the televangelist Viju Prasad in the psychological thriller Trance, and, of course, the cult-favourite antagonist of Kumbalangi Nights, Shammi Sreenivasan.

Other morally grey characters in Faasil’s rapidly increasing filmography include the titular character of Joji, a pandemic-era reimagining of Shakespeare’s Macbeth, and Malik, a Godfather-style political drama that finds Faasil as a local leader forced to introspect on his influence.

Faasil is one of Malayalam cinema’s most popular exports as is evident from his villainous parts in productions outside Kerala, like the Telugu blockbuster Pushpa The Rise Part 1, Kamal Haasan’s record-breaking Tamil thriller Vikram, and the acclaimed Tamil anti-caste drama Maamannan.

It seems like that seven-year sabbatical really worked in Faasil’s favour!

Why is Kumbalangi Nights Fahadh Faasil’s best movie?

Fahadh Faasil has helmed many unforgettable movies as a leading man and yet it’s his villainous supporting part in Kumbalangi Nights that is synonymous with his career. The modern classic is a multi-dimensional exploration of masculinity and patriarchy within a dysfunctional Keralite family of four brothers.

Adding to the chaos is Faasil’s wealthy but ruthless businessman Shammi Sreenivasan. Faasil’s Shammi has become a cult favourite character of Malayalam cinema with his quotable dialogues and morally ambiguous personality.

    Dulquer Salmaan’s Early Beginnings

The youngest son of Malayalam cinema legend Mammootty, Salmaan didn’t instantly walk in the same path as his actor father. Instead, his initial plans were to pursue business management in Dubai following which he enrolled in a three-month-long acting course in Mumbai. The rest, as they say, is history.

The year 2012 marked Salmaan’s acting debut with the action crime drama Second Show in which he played a reformed gangster seeking revenge for his friend’s death. The Malayalam film polarised critics even though it was a commercial success with Salmaan drawing praise as its lead.

Breakout with Ustad Hotel, Bangalore Days and More

In the same year as his debut performance, Salmaan starred in the now-cult favourite Ustad Hotel. The Anwar Rasheed-directed drama is a heartwarming coming-of-age tale with Salmaan playing an aspiring chef who fights against his father’s wishes while being stuck at his grandfather’s hotel.

The movie was a notable highlight for Salmaan’s dramatic prowess and charismatic range, paving the way for future hits like Bangalore Days (2014) and O Kadhal Kanmani (2015). The former was another coming-of-age romance following a cousin trio exploring their dreams and aspirations in the titular city of Bangalore.

The latter was a Tamil romantic drama by auteur Mani Ratnam, exploring marriage and urban love from a new-age perspective. O Kadhal Kanmani proved Salmaan’s effortless charm as a self-reflective romantic lead, his on-screen chemistry with Nithya Menen was grounded in reality and filled with wholesome moments.

Transition to action and adventure with Charlie, Kali, and Kurup

While Salmaan built on his initial fame as a romantic hero, it didn’t take him much time to experiment with other genres. For instance, he played a carefree vagabond in the adventure drama Charlie (2015) while the very next year, he flirted with the action genre with Kali (2016). The latter starred him as a short-tempered man whose life turns awry after a run-in with a gangster.

He also raised eyebrows with his performance as late Tamil actor Gemini Ganesan in the biopic Mahanati (2018), a Telugu-language exploration of the life of actress Savitra (also Gemini’s wife). Among his post-pandemic projects, Salmaan ambitiously took on another biopic Kurup that had him playing the titular gangster, a man on the run after killing a person for life insurance fraud.

Karwaan, Chup and a Netflix show: Salmaan’s occasional Hindi projects

Apart from the Malayalam actor’s occasional forays into Tamil (O Kadhal Kanmani) and Telugu (Mahanati), Salman has also made a few memorable Bollywood appearances. His Hindi-language debut was opposite Irrfan Khan in the slice-of-life road comedy Karwaan, followed by a psychological thriller Chup. Salmaan’s performance as a violent artist targeting a critic was a notable effort in the hero breaking typecast.

He also made his streaming debut in the Hindi-language ‘90s-era noir Guns & Gulaabs, playing a cop who changes colours and morals with chameleon-like versatility.

Why is Sita Ramam Dulquer Salmaan’s best movie?

The period romantic drama Sita Ramam featured career-defining performances from Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, and Rashmika Mandanna. The heartwarming tale of Salmaan’s orphaned soldier receiving letters from an anonymous lover makes for an emotional tearjerker of a movie.

A remake of the Malayalam ‘90s psychological horror Manichitrathazhu, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and its sequel subverted supernatural comedy in Bollywood while providing some genuine scares.

If you want to watch the entire Bhool Bhulaiyaa series in chronological order, we've created a complete streaming guide to show you which streaming services have offers for every movie in the franchise and its associated remakes. We'll also let you know where to watch every title in the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise in 4K and options to watch them legally for free online.

How to watch the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise (chronological order)

The chronological order of the Bhool Bhulaiyaa series is, fortunately, the same as its release order:

    • Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007)

    • Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022)

    • Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 (2024)

The first film in the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise follows a psychiatrist who investigates a haunted mansion where strange occurrences are linked to a centuries-old legend. As he delves deeper, he uncovers psychological twists and uncanny revelations about the past. Akshay Kumar’s performance as the eccentric psychiatrist and Vidya Balan’s stellar turn as a woman and her possessed dancer form drew critical acclaim and Bhool Bhulaiyaa has gone down as a cult classic in mainstream Bollywood.

The 2022 sequel followed directly from the events of the first film. Kartik Aaryan led the franchise this time as a fraud exorcist who investigates yet another case of haunting by the first movie’s dancing spirit Manjulika. Apart from Aaryan, new additions to the franchise included Kiara Advani and Tabu with the latter filling Balan’s shoes in playing Manjulika’s latest victim.

Despite Kumar and Balan’s absence, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 managed to win over critics and audiences alike and now will be followed by a direct sequel in 2024 with Aryan reprising his role.

Which movie was Bhool Bhulaiyaa inspired by?

Bhool Bhulaiyaa has its fair share of original jokes and catchy songs but director Priyadarshan’s supernatural comedy owes its existence to the 1993 Malayalam hit Manichitrathazhu. Starring Mohanlal in the lead role, the National Award-winning classic interestingly had Bhool Bhulaiyaa filmmaker Priyadarshan serving as an assistant director at the time. Mohanlal revisited his lead role in a 2013 spin-off titled Geethanjali.

What other movies like Manichitrathazhu can Bhool Bhulaiyaa fans check out?

The movie that inspired Bhool Bhulaiyaa has also spawned remakes in many other languages such as Kannada (Apthamitra), Tamil (Chandramukhi), and Bengali (Rajmohol).

Where can you stream the Bhool Bhulaiyaa movies and its other inspirations?

You can unfortunately not stream Bhool Bhulaiyaa even though it is still available to rent on Google Play, YouTube Movies. As for the sequel Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, you can watch it on Netflix. The Malayalam original can be streamed on Eros Now, and Prime Video and its spin-off Geethanjali on Prime Video and ZEE5.

How to Watch the Munna Bhai Movies In Order: A Streaming Guide

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

Kickstarting director Rajkumar Hirani’s career and resurrecting Sanjay Dutt’s status as a leading man, the Munna Bhai franchise has provided some of Bollywood’s funniest and most heartwarming comedies. If you wish to go on a Munna Bhai binge, we’ve got you covered with a complete streaming guide of the movies in order along with a handy guide on where to stream them all.

How to watch the Munna Bhai movies in order?

The Munna Bhai franchise’s entries can be streamed in the same order as their release date. While Munna Bhai MBBS establishes the recurring characters Munna Bhai and Circuit, the sophomore film Lage Raho Munna Bhai is a spiritual sequel building upon a different premise.

    • Munna Bhai MBBS (2003)

    • Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006)

The first movie followed the goon Munna Bhai (Sanjay Dutt) as he aims to change his ways and become a medical student instead. Thrown in the mix are fan favourite characters like his loyal sidekick Circuit (Arshad Warsi) and the strict medical college dean Dr Asthana (Boman Irani). The movie was a breakaway hit, offering Warsi his breakout acting role and establishing Hirani’s bankability as a filmmaker. As for the leading man, Sanjay Dutt witnessed a resurgence in popularity after a string of flops and publicized controversies.

Three years later, the trio of Dutt, Warsi, and Hirani returned with another blockbuster sequel Lage Raho Munna Bhai. This time around, Munna Bhai has a change of heart yet again when he crosses paths with the ghost of Indian freedom fighter Mahatma Gandhi. Boman Irani returns to the franchise in an antagonistic role (but playing a different character). There’s hardly any continuity to Munna Bhai MBBS’s medical comedy but the lovable tomfoolery of Munna and Circuit still endures in this social drama.

Will there be a third Munna Bhai movie?

Lage Raho Munna Bhai was supposed to lead up to a third movie titled Munna Bhai Chale America. But plans were canceled with Sanjay Dutt’s prison sentence in an illegal arms scandal. Even after Dutt served his time, he collaborated with Hirani on his religious satire PK and even became the subject of the biopic Sanju. However, no future developments for Munna Bhai Chale America have been revealed yet. Judging from the title, it is possible that the third movie might find Munna and Circuit flying to the US for some international misadventures.

Does the Munna Bhai franchise have any remakes?

The first Munna Bhai movie spawned several multi-lingual remakes. In Tamil, the auteur Kamal Haasan took on Dutt’s role in the Vasool Raja MBBS while Telugu superstar Chiranjeevei essayed the same role in Shankar Dada MBBS. Elsewhere in Kannada cinema, Upendra starred in Uppi Dada MBBS. Lage Raho Munna Bhai also led to one Telugu remake Shankar Dada Zindabad with Chiranjeevi reprising his role as the goon-turned-Gandhian.

The correct order of viewing the Telugu remakes is the same as the Hindi versions (i.e. in order of release date).

    • Shankar Dada MBBS (2004)

    • Shankar Dada Zindabad (2007)

All remakes aside, Munna Bhai MBBS itself bears some vague resemblances to the medical drama Patch Adams (available to rent on Amazon, Apple TV, Google Play).

Where can you stream the Munna Bhai movies?

Munna Bhai MBBS and Lage Raho Munna Bhai are available to stream on Amazon Prime Video and to rent on YouTube Movies, Google Play store, and Apple. As for the remakes, you can watch both the Shankar Dada movies on Sun NXT. The Tamil remake Vasool Raja MBBS can similarly be streamed on Sun NXT.

The Drishyam movies found life in a few nail-biting Malayalam thrillers but over the years, the Mohanlal starrers have spawned many other remakes in languages like Hindi, Tamil and even Chinese and Korean. If you wish to watch the Drishyam movies in order, we have got you covered with a guide that not only gives you all the streaming platforms to watch the original franchise but the many remakes as well.

How to watch the Drishyam movies in chronological order

The original Malayalam-language Drishyam and its sequel Drishyam 2 can be watched in the same order as their release date.

    • Drishyam (2013)

    • Drishyam 2 (2021)

The same can be said for the two Hindi-language remakes starring Ajay Devgn, the Telugu remakes directed by Joseph again with Venkatesh in lead, and in Kannada with Ravichandran as the hero.

    Hindi:

    • Drishyam (2015)

    • Drishyam 2 (2022)

    Telugu:

    • Drushyam (2014)

    • Drushyam 2 (2021)

    Kannada:

    • Drishya (2014)

    • Drishya 2 (2021)

Additionally, the first part was also remade in Tamil as Papanasam with Kamal Haasan in Mohanlal’s role and in Sri Lanka’s Sinhalese language as Dharmayuddha and in Chinese as Sheep Without A Shepherd.

Ranking among the best Mohanlal movies, Jeetu Joseph’s cerebral 2013 thriller Drishyam found Mohanlal playing an ordinary video store owner who must defend his family from a vengeance-seeking policewoman after her son goes missing.

Building nail-biting tension from everyday situations with some splendid plot twists, Drishyam broke new ground in mainstreaming Malayalam thrillers and spawned several frame-to-frame remakes in other languages. A Korean remake was also announced in 2023, making Drishyam the first Indian movie to be remade in Korean.

In 2021, the cult hit received a direct sequel with the Prime Video release of Drishyam 2. The movie continued Mohanlal’s protagonist saving his family as the murder case from the first film is investigated further. The sequel was soon remade in Hindi, Kannada, and Telugu.

Will there be a Drishyam 3?

While Drishyam 2 wrapped up the first movie’s arc, both director Jeetu Joseph and lead actor Mohanlal have occasionally stated their interest in joining forces for a third time. Joseph has also revealed that while he has figured out the climax of Drishyam 3, the scripting and production might take him a few years.

Where can you watch the Drishyam movies and remakes?

Drishyam and most of its remakes (Hindi, Kannada) are available to stream on Hotstar. The Hindi-remake in particular is also available to watch on Netflix and Jio Cinema (for free).

Drishyam 2, on the other hand, is an Amazon Prime Video original, the OTT service also being the home for its Hindi and Telugu remakes. Papanasam and Drushyam are on Sun NXT. The Kannada sequel Drishya 2 is available to stream on ZEE5.

With three movies boasting hilarious one-liners and over-the-top gags, the Dhamaal franchise is one of contemporary Bollywood’s best comedy franchises. If you wish to watch all the Dhamaal movies in order, we have got you covered with a roundup of the Dhamaal trilogy in order and where to stream them.

How to watch the Dhamaal movies in chronological order

With the first two Dhamaal movies directly connected to each other and the third one being a reboot, the Dhamaal series can fortunately be streamed in the same order as their release date.

    • Dhamaal (2007)

    • Double Dhamaal (2011)

    • Total Dhamaal (2019)

The first Dhamaal remains a cult classic winning over critics and audiences alike for its goofy premise and intertwined subplots connecting to a wild treasure hunt. Loosely inspired by the vintage Hollywood comedy It’s A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, the film found a ragtag bunch of four slackers and a corrupt cop as they battled each other in laying claim to a dead man’s treasure.

Sanjay Dutt’s cop character and the rest of the ensemble (Arshad Warsi, Jaaved Jaffrey, Riteish Deshmukh and Aashish Chaudhary) returned a few years later in Double Dhamaal, a direct sequel that builds up from its predecessor’s events and continues exploring the many exploits of the franchise’s conman protagonists.

Even as Double Dhamaal failed to replicate the first movie’s legacy, it fared well at the box-office. The third movie Total Dhamaal was a reboot of the franchise and found many of the first two movie’s cast-members returning along with new additions like Ajay Devgn, Madhuri Dixit, and Anil Kapoor. The movie yet again went ahead with the first part’s treasure hunt premise, increasing the stakes and the budget.

With Total Dhamaal yet again subjected to mixed reviews, the movie was a box-office hit, leaving the franchise to be profitable enough to yield any sequels in the future.

Where can you stream the Dhamaal movies?

The original Dhamaal’s popularity is evident from the many OTT services where you can stream it. These include Amazon Prime Video, ZEE5, Lionsgate Play, Shemaroo, and Vi Movies & TV. As for Double Dhamaal, it is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video and ZEE5 again. You can watch the reboot Total Dhamaal on Hotstar.

As for the movie’s original Hollywood inspiration It’s A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, you can rent it on Amazon and Apple TV.

A trendsetting action franchise in 2000s and 2010s-era Bollywood, the Race trilogy has spawned a few blockbusters. If you wish to binge on this high-octane, adrenaline-fueled franchise, then we have got you covered with a guide that not only tells you the correct viewing order of the movies but also where to stream them all.

How to watch the Race movies in chronological order

The correct sequence to watch the Race trilogy is in the same order as the release date. While the first two movies are directly connected, the third installment however only acts as a spiritual sequel.

    • Race (2008)

    • Race 2 (2013)

    • Race 3 (2018)

The first installment was directed by the twin brother duo Abbas-Mustan, who had previously helmed many other action genre mass-entertainers. Venturing in a somewhat neo-noir territory, Race featured an all-star cast including the likes of Saif Ali Khan and Akshaye Khanna as a pair of businessmen brothers at odds with each other. As their personal conflict turns into a whirlwind of assassination plots and car chases, Anil Kapoor plays an unorthodox policeman on their trail.

Race 2 continued the story further with Khan and Kapoor’s characters crossing paths with the leader of the Indian mafia in Turkey. Apart from John Abraham playing the big baddie, new additions to the franchise included Deepika Padukone and Jacqueline Fernandez. With Abbas-Mustan yet again on the director’s chair, the direct sequel fared well at the box office even if critical reviews were mixed.

A spiritual sequel with a different storyline was Race 3 that found choreographer-turned-filmmaker Remo D’Souza (of the ABCD movies) serving as director this time. Saif Ali Khan was replaced by Salman Khan with Anil Kapoor playing a brand-new character. Despite the involvement of a Bollywood megastar like Salman Khan, the movie underperformed commercially leaving the fate of the Race franchise uncertain.

Will there be a Race 4?

Despite the disappointing box office performance of Race 3, a fourth and final installment is still on the cards with Remo D’Souza hinting that production will start in 2024. Salman Khan is yet again announced to star and the franchise’s perpetual face Anil Kapoor can also be expected.

Where can you stream the Race movies?

Race and Race 3 are unfortunately not available to stream at the moment but can be legally downloaded or bought from Google Play and YouTube movies in India. As for Race 2, you can watch the 2013 hit on Netflix or rent it on Google Play, Amazon, and YouTube movies.

How to watch the Don and Billa Movies in Order: A Complete Streaming Guide

    Shaurya Singh Thapa

    JustWatch Editor

From Amitabh Bachchan to Shah Rukh Khan and now Ranveer Singh, the titular role of the internationally wanted gangster Don has been reserved for some of Bollywood’s most dynamic leading men. With so many actors playing the titular role and many other remakes of the franchise, keeping track of the Don movies can be challenging. But we have got you covered with the definitive streaming guide to all the Don sequels and remakes.

How to watch the Don movies in chronological order

Watching the Don franchise can be confusing for it has been remade and rebooted several times but it’s easier viewing them in the same order as their release date.

    • Don (1978)

    • Don: The Chase Begins (2006)

    • Don 2 (2011)

    • Don 3 (upcoming)

The lore of Don began with the 1978 classic that starred Amitabh Bachchan in a double role as a charismatic gangster and his doppelganger Vijay, a police insider who impersonates Don after his apparent death. Written by Sholay’s acclaimed duo Saleem-Javed and ranking among one of Amitabh Bachchan’s best movies, Don still endures as a cult classic.

In 2006, Don screenwriter Javed Akhtar’s son Farhan rebooted the franchise with the same premise but on a larger scale with big-budget action sequences. Shah Rukh Khan filled Bachchan’s shoes as Don and Vijay with the movie even recreating its predecessor’s iconic songs like “Paan Banaras Wala”. The reboot was a commercial success and was followed by a direct sequel Don 2 (2011) that takes place a few years later.

With Khan straying away from the franchise after Don 2, many of the actor’s fans wished for him to return as the stylish criminal for a third time. But with Don 3’s casting announcement, it is clear that Ranveer Singh will take the mantle of Don this time. Not much is known about the upcoming film but even with Farhan Akhtar’s contribution to the script, the film is expected to be yet another reboot with no connection to the SRK films.

How to watch the Don Tamil remakes in chronological order

Both Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan’s takes on Don inspired remakes in other languages, most prominently in Tamil. While the first remake Billa (1980) is a standalone watch, the correct order to watch the Ajith Kumar-led remakes is to watch Billa II (2012) before Billa (2007) as the former is the prequel.

    • Billa (1980)

    • Billa II (2012)

    • Billa (2007)

The original Don served as the inspiration for Billa that found Tamil superstar Rajinikanth taking on the titular role of the gangster Billa and his identical double Rajappa. The 1980 hit was later remade under the same name in 2007 with Ajith Kumar starring in a dual role. The movie was followed by the prequel Billa II that traced the gangster’s rise to power in the 1990s.

Billa II was thematically and stylistically very different from the Bollywood Don movies as the prequel dealt with the turbulent Sri Lankan politics of the era and amped up the violence to a more graphic level.

How to watch the Don Telugu and Malayalam remakes in chronological order

Don and Billa were also remade in Telugu and Malayalam, each of which can be watched in any order as they are all standalone narratives.

    Telugu:

    • Yugandhar (1979)

    • Billa (2009)

    Malayalam:

    • Sobharaj (1986)

Where can you stream the Don movies and remakes?

Amitabh Bachchan’s original Don is available to stream on ZEE5 while you can watch both the Shah Rukh Khan-led movies on Netflix and Prime Video. The modern Tamil remakes (Billa, Billa II) are available on ZEE5 and Sun NXT respectively although you can also stream Billa II for free on MX Player. The Telugu Billa is available to stream on ZEE5 and Sun NXT.
