French writer-director Olivier Assayas has been crafting films since the late 1980s, but it wasn't until the 2010s when he really started to find success on a bigger scale with films like Clouds of Sils Maria, Personal Shopper, and The Wizard of the Kremlin. He also helmed the '90s flick Irma Vep, and made the TV adaptation years later.
