Eli Roth is a name that’s pretty much synonymous with splatter films. Like other directors who incorporate a lot of violence into their horror work, he is considered to be part of ‘The Splat Pack’. This group of directors, who were even the subject of a documentary, are considered to have played a huge role in bringing blood and gore back to horror. Roth’s filmography as a horror director includes flicks like Thanksgiving, Hostel, and Cabin Fever. Outside of horror, he has directed things like fantasy movie The House with a Clock in Its Walls and video game movie Borderlands. He has also dipped his toe into acting in the past, most notably appearing in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds.
