After making four short films in his native Italian tongue, Claudio Giovannesi moved into feature filmmaking in 2009 with La Casa Sulle Nuvole. That same year, another of his movies came out, titled Fratelli D'Italia. Since then, his work has gained more and more prominence, with flicks such as Ali Blue Eyes, Wolf, Fiore, and Piranhas leading to his most high-profile film to date: Hey Joe. The Italian drama movie stars James Franco and takes viewers back to Naples in the 1970s. Giovannesi also worked on the TV series, Gomorrah.
