Ironically, Andy Serkis is most famous for a role in which his face wasn't technically even on-screen. He helped pioneer motion-capture technology to bring Gollum to life in The Lord of the Rings, and has been an integral figure in further developing of that process for other projects like King Kong and the modern Planet of the Apes movies. Serkis has also voiced Supreme Leader Snoke in Star Wars, Baloo in Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, and in animated movies like Flushed Away, The Adventures of Tintin, and Arthur Christmas. He's also had more traditional, on-screen roles in films like The Batman, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll, The Prestige, and on the small screen in Andor. As a director, Serkis has helmed projects like Venom: Let There Be Carnage and the new Animal Farm animated remake.
