Based on the video game series of the same name, the Amazon Prime Video original Fallout offers a bizarrely funny and adventurous look at a post-apocalyptic future. The series is set two centuries after a nuclear apocalypse ended the world, forcing some of the survivors to seek shelter in underground vaults while the others roam the surface with their own goals. Teen high-school comedy meets nuclear apocalypse in Daybreak, the Netflix comedy-drama series that was unfortunately cancelled after one season. Despite ending on a cliffhanger, the now-discontinued series has had its own cult fanbase with some highly-likable characters as they navigate their lives in a future where all the adults are dead and only the teens have survived.
On a more serious note, Fallout also reveals the disastrous consequences of nuclear technology on humanity. A show that fleshes out such serious themes on a realistic level is Chernobyl, the Emmy-winning miniseries that recreated the titular nuclear disaster in the Soviet Union.
