6 Upcoming Movies & Shows Starring 'Heated Rivalry's Connor Storrie

April X is a psychological science fiction thriller that was originally released in 2025. It had its world premiere at the 43rd Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival. Still, it’s set for a limited theatrical release in the United States, starting in September of 2026, per Deadline’s exclusive. The cyberpunk, futuristic movie will also have additional international distribution. 

This movie, directed by Michel K. Parandi, marks Connor Storrie’s first movie release since the premiere of Heated Rivalry. Here, Storrie stars as Baxter, described as “a black-market body-parts hustler” who is looking for his missing twin sister, April. Lilly Krug plays the character “who can digitally record her dreams.” Oh, and of course, the characters are dealing with a sinister conspiracy in their dystopian world in April X. 

Peaked is the first A24 movie on this list, but not the last. It was originally announced in February 2025, when Molly Gordon joined the project. She wrote the script with costar Allie Levitan. Production was originally slated to start then, too, but things were delayed until around the time of Connor Storrie’s casting. He was announced as part of the cast in February 2026, which was also when the movie was anticipated to start production this time around.  

This movie stars Emma Mackey, Laura Dern, Simone Ashley, Levon Hawke, Mitra Jouhari, Gabby Windey, Amy Sedaris, Owen Thiele, Jaya Harper, Emil Wakim, Alex Consani, and Dua Lipa. Peaked will follow “the two girls who traumatized you in high school as they try to relive their glory days at their 10-year reunion.” Gordon described it as “funny and heart-forward.” As of now, there are still no details of Storrie’s character in Peaked, but it’s exciting to imagine him as part of such an incredible ensemble. 

Please is Connor Storrie’s second and latest A24 collaboration. Deadline exclusively announced Storrie’s attachment to the project in May 2026. When he came aboard, the movie was already set to star Gracie Abrams and Tom Burke. As a fan of her music, I am looking forward to seeing what Abrams will bring to Please, as it’s her acting debut. 

The same day as Storrie’s announcement, Variety exclusively reported that David Jonsson would also star in Please. The movie is written and directed by Halina Reijn, marking her third project with the production company. The most recent was Babygirl (2024). There are few details about the movie or Storrie’s character so far. I’m starting to think that the anticipation and mystery of it all make Please one to watch, as if it wasn’t already. 

I should start by mentioning that as a Knives Out (2019) fan, I like knowing that Rian Johnson is producing Turpentine. I realize that it’s becoming quite a theme, but there are no details about Connor Storrie’s character in Turpentine yet. However, there is a description of the movie. It’s set to follow “a deadbeat son who hires friends to rob his own parents to pay off a bookie, with disastrous results.” 

I am totally assuming, but I’m starting to wonder if Storrie will be playing the son. It may be a while before we know for sure. Two things I am certain of are that Turpentine will also star Melissa McCarthy and the thriller comes from Craig Zobel. If that name sounds familiar, it’s because he’s the same man who directed three episodes of HBO Max’s award-winning series, The Penguin (2024). It sounds intense and interesting; I’m in!

Transaction Planet is a fun one to look forward to because it’s a real passion project for Storrie. He wears many hats on it. Perhaps most paramount, he wrote and directed it. Not to mention, he’s also the sole producer on it. That alone is fascinating to me. It shows how seriously Storrie takes every facet of the creative work. And by seriously, I mean you can see how interested he is in all of it and how he wants to strengthen his craft.

It’s also exciting because Transaction Planet is his feature directorial debut. Impressively and almost shockingly, this movie was entirely shot on an iPhone camera. It also stars Storrie’s friends, Gabe Kessler and Bailey Tait. If all of that hasn’t piqued your interest, the movie’s description may. Transaction Planet is about what happens when an alien spirit inhabits a 25-year-old human. Spoiler alert: They will face “numerous obstacles while adapting to earthly existence.”

Of course, one of Connor Storrie’s most anticipated up-and-coming releases, and the only TV show on the list, is Heated Rivalry’s second season in 2027. The first season aired its season finale in December 2025, and I, like so many others, have been clamoring for more ever since. Thankfully, I hadn’t read Rachel Reid’s books, of which the show is adapted. So I have plenty of source material to dive into during the hiatus. 

There are three Game Changer books between Reid’s Heated Rivalry and The Long Game. The first of which is where the show gets its first season, that and the first book, Game Changer. The latter is where the second season will pull from, so I’m holding out to read it until Heated Rivalry’s return is closer. I know enough about what happens in that book to know that I am so eager to see Storrie explore an ever deeper and more vulnerable side of Ilya Rosanov opposite Hudson Williams as Shane Hollander.
