Their contrasting personalities and outlooks leave them poking fun at one another throughout the movie while still leaning on one another for assistance.
When Spider-Man takes a bullet meant for Jean Grey fired by the Punisher, it's a distraught Frank who carries his friend to the hospital and rests with him during the course of his recovery.
