Spider-Man: Brand New Day finally released a new trailer to announce that tickets for its July 31st release are on sale. But the trailer also revealed a lot about what to expect from the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe entry and how it will impact Spider-Man’s world.

Aside from great action sequences and the return of the Savage Hulk, there are even more plot points shown that could change the MCU forever. Plus, there’s even more evidence as to who Sadie Sink will be playing. Here’s a list of some of the most shocking reveals we found in the new Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer.

5. Spider-Man Is Going Through Changes

The opening of the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer reveals Spider-Man getting severely beaten up by Scorpion until something comes over him, and his eyes go black. From there, he beats up Scorpion within an inch of his life. Peter turns to Bruce Banner to hopefully figure out a way to suppress the bad parts of his new powers, but Banner asks him who’s to say what’s bad and what isn’t, mirroring the theme of the movie.

The biggest change Peter has is the addition of organic webbing so powerful that it shoots off his web shooters. While its full range hasn’t been shown yet, the webs can entrap a horde of Hand ninja and almost trap the Hulk.

4. Ned & MJ Still Trust Peter Parker/Spider-Man

Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) showed Peter sacrificing his identity to save his universe, and that meant MJ and Ned would have to forget him as well. Even still, Spider-Man: Brand New Day shows that fate still brings them together when they move into his building.

Ned has a wall that he uses to try to figure out who Spider-Man is while also helping him with the Spidey Tracker website, and he immediately connects with Peter Parker. The trailer also showed Spider-Man showing up to MJ’s room and explaining that she’s in danger and she has to trust him, which she quickly agrees to. They may have forgotten Peter, but both of his closest people still trust him.

3. More Signs Point To A Jean Grey Appearance

Surprisingly, by Marvel’s standards, Sadie Sink’s new character has still not been revealed, but there have been more than a few points to prove that she may actually be Jean Grey. The first is that her attire is green and yellow, a classic color scheme for Jean.

Second, there seems to be a telepathic wave that covers New York City and freezes everyone but Punisher and Spider-Man, alluding to how Professor X froze people in the X-Men movies. Then, there’s the body-swapping that takes place in one scene that all seems to tie into things Jean Grey can do.

2. Spider-Man And The Punisher Are An Unlikely Team

Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s first teaser showed that Spider-Man and the Punisher have a loose relationship where they aren’t friends, but they don’t hate each other, either. This slightly hostile banter only scratches the surface, as the latest trailer shows that there’s some trust between them.

MJ is in danger from an unseen force, and Spider-Man takes her to the Punisher to hide her, and he reluctantly agrees. While he still wants nothing to do with the hero, MJ also looks to convince him to help Spider-Man against whatever he’s facing, showing that Frank Castle is a hero, even if he doesn’t believe it.

1. The Hulk Is Back And More Savage Than Ever

Since Avengers: Endgame (2019), fans have been subject to Bruce Banner’s new form as Smart Hulk, a weaker version of the hero who is in control of his power. But now, possibly through the influence of Sadie Sink’s character, it looks like Bruce will lose his inhibitor band and Hulk out once again.

Not much was shown in the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer, save for Bruce transforming and throwing his weight around in a skyscraper, but what we know for sure is that Spidey’s webs barely hold him. This is a long-awaited return for the character and also marks the first time Spider-Man and the Hulk have fought in live-action.

Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn't remember him—and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him—sparks a change in Peter Parker he may not have the power to control. But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves - a powerful villain no one can even see.
