Comedy remains one of the best genres for pushing boundaries and experimenting with big ideas, whether it's through biting satire, pitch-black humor, or straight-up slapstick hijinks. While big 2026 releases like The Devil Wears Prada 2 and Scary Movie had massive press events and theatrical releases behind them, other 2026 comedies flew under the radar—or have yet to even release.

The movies below might be a bit more niche, but that's what makes them so intriguing. Yes, most of them are weird, but that's why they're charming. So, if you're searching for a new gem to boot up on your next movie night, then you don't want to miss these 2026 comedies. The good news is that you can watch most of them on streamers like Apple TV.

Outcome

2026

If you're a fan of Jonah Hill's Mid90s (2018), then you won't want to miss Outcome. While Mid90s is a raw coming-of-age story, Outcome veers off to the left. This time around, Hill delivers a dark comedy that follows an A-list actor (played by Keanu Reeves) who emerges from a five-year sobriety hiatus only to be met with a blackmail threat from an unknown enemy.

By synopsis alone, Outcome sounds like a high-tension thriller of sorts. However, the film is very much a dark Hollywood satire that strives to take big swings. For some, that's a divisive choice. For others, it's an ambitious delight. One thing is certain, though: Cameron Diaz is a film highlight, and this movie knows how to get weird.

When it comes to ridiculousness, it might be a toss-up between this movie's title and its concept. Is The Dink a silly-sounding name? You bet. And is a sports comedy about pickleball also pretty silly? Also, yes. That said, this Apple TV movie is right on trend because pickleball is all the rage these days.

Jake Johnson plays Dusty Boyd, an aging tennis player who has to take up pickleball to save a local club. Other comedy favorites like Ben Stiller, Mary Steenburgen, Ed Harris, and Patton Oswalt round out the cast in what should be a rip-roaring comedy with plenty of hijinks. Think Happy Gilmore (1996), but with pickleball instead of golf.

Directed by Jonathan Goldstein, Mayday chronicles an American soldier who is forced to crash-land his plane in the Soviet Union wilderness. While action will certainly be a part of this film, it's also billed as a comedy, which should be a fun combination with Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh in lead roles, even if the term "mayday" doesn't typically evoke humorous feelings.

Goldstein and frequent collaborator John Francis Daley have made multiple films together, including Horrible Bosses (2011), Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (2023), which suggests that Mayday should be a treat. Most of these movies combine action and comedy to great effect, so expect more of that bombastic action meets goofy comedy beats in the upcoming Apple TV movie with a scary-sounding name.

If you played with Matchbox cars or action figures growing up, then this is the movie for you. Directed by stuntman/actor/director Sam Hargrave, Matchbox: The Movie is all about a former soldier's reunion and subsequent kidnapping with childhood friends. The stakes are high. The action is tense. And it's all based on the Matchbox toyline!

John Cena plays the lead here, and we already know the actor can handle fast cars if the Fast and the Furious franchise is anything to go by. Plus, Hargrave is the man behind Extraction (2020) and Extraction 2 (2023), two stunt-heavy movies with high-throttle action that don't disappoint. If you're hungry for childhood nostalgia, you won't want to miss Matchbox: The Movie on Apple TV.

If horror meets weird is more your vibe, then don't sleep on Forbidden Fruits. Nostalgic mall setting? Check. Secret witchy coven? Check. Mean Girls (2004), but make it horror? Also, check. Basically, Forbidden Fruits is the ultimate horror comedy for anyone craving campy, dark humor and genre-pushing sensibilities.

Forbidden Fruits might not scream classic comedy on the surface, but it's the ultimate treat for the cult movie crowd. It might leave you a little scared, but the true fear comes from the horrors of being a teenage girl. Think of this one a bit like The Craft (1996), but with a goofy makeover.

Pizza Movie

2026

Pizza Movie is 2026's crown jewel for fans of stoner comedies, and boy, is it ridiculous. The entire plot revolves around two college roommates getting… pizza. The twist? They somewhat accidentally take a hallucinogen, which, of course, turns what should be a simple trip to get pizza into a surreal, chaotic nightmare for them and a raunchy buddy-comedy for us.

What works here is how a mundane task becomes so perfectly absurd. Not to mention, Gaten Matarazzo and Sean Giambrone have a believable, well-matched chemistry that sells the whole silly thing. If movies like Pineapple Express (2008) and Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle (2004) rank among your favorites, Hulu's Pizza Movie should be a sure hit.
