7 Must-Watch Movies Coming Out In June 2026
June often marks the beginning of three months of summer blockbusters that pump us up and start to force us out of the house and into the theaters. With a ton coming in the next three months, pacing ourselves is going to be tough when there's so much exciting content to look forward to in various genres.
From Disclosure Day (2026) to Supergirl (2026), June is packed with action, angst, and animated features. We've even got another rom-com, which naturally is everything for the romance fan in me, so there's really something for everyone. Here are the movies you can't miss coming out in June 2026.

Masters of the Universe, based on the He-Man comics, is finally set to release in theaters on June 5, and early reactions from critics are overwhelmingly positive. Whether die-hard fans or casual viewers who were hesitant, most took to social media after the embargo broke to talk about how surprisingly fantastic the film is and why it's set to be one of the year's biggest blockbusters.
Starring Nicholas Galitzine, Camila Mendes, Idris Elba, Jared Leto, Morena Baccarin, and more, the casting alone is enough reason to check out the film, whether you're a fan of the original comics or not. The trailer looks like a blast, and judging by the brief visuals within, Travis Knight really seems to be the director fit for the job.

The Scary Movie franchise is huge, and its fan base is perhaps even bigger. While remakes and reboots don't always do well with die-hard fans and there's a lot riding on whether they stick the landing, Scary Movie could still be worth watching to see original cast members return and how modern-day antics are woven into the mix.
I mean, they literally have M3GAN (2019) in the trailer, and we also learn that it's Ghostface under the mask. Still, the parody can provide plenty of laughs and fun Easter eggs to pick apart at any given moment. These movies are also some of the safest ones for people who typically don't dabble with horror, so if nothing else, the entertainment can be good for all types of friend groups.

Jennifer Lopez is a rom-com queen, and pairing her with professional yearner Roy Kent, aka Brett Goldstein, is the kind of genius move I don't know how to wrap my head around. There's plenty in the title Office Romance, but there's everything in the casting to give us the type of movie that'll likely be on endless rotation.
Forbidden, angsty, and hot? Sign me up. The trailer alone is enough to leave us wanting more, and while the film will be premiering on Netflix, it should've been available on the big screen, too. Still, this is the one movie on streaming that's not to be missed. Summer is the perfect time for rom-coms, so everything about Office Romance is perfectly timed to be a winner.

A new Steven Spielberg movie in the summer is exactly what we need to then thrust us into Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey (2026) next month. Disclosure Day is already getting rave reviews on social media, but even without them, my tickets have already been purchased for Emily Blunt and Josh O'Connor.
The sci-fi epic is bound to be a hit in more ways than one, with visual effects at the forefront to give us the kind of Spielberg film that's been missing in the last few years. With movies like Project Hail Mary (2026) also making a strong statement about empathy and how to care for our planet, we can be sure that in many ways, Disclosure Day will do the same.

Did we need another Toy Story movie? No. Will I be seated in the theater on opening day regardless? Yes. Interestingly, while the initial backlash has a lot to do with how unnecessary Toy Story 4 (2019) was, Toy Story 5 has the potential to send a significant message about tablets and the way the world has changed since the original movie was first released.
Interestingly, its new villain, Lilypad, may provide the necessary segue to having conversations about how much screen time and AI are changing the world as we know it in a more negative way, and that alone is a riveting thought to hold us over. But ultimately, even if it's not the best thing we watch, reuniting with these characters is always a solid time to at least provide us with entertainment.

A sapphic coming-of-age love story that looks super sweet and wholesome? Say less. Based on the book by Hayley Kiyoko, it's got the type of happy ending that the movie will hopefully honor to give us a romance that sticks the landing. We have a good chunk of M/M romances that are hits like Red, White, & Royal Blue (2023) and Heated Rivalry (2025), but it's high time a sapphic book adaptation takes center stage.
Girls Like Girls will likely be in select theaters, so it's the kind of movie you should go out of your way to see before it's out on digital. Judging by the trailer, it looks like an endearing, nostalgic movie that's sure to tug on our heartstrings in a way that's been missing from our screens.

Superman (2025) took the world by storm last year, and now it's time for his cousin to do the same as Milly Alcock gears up to take center stage in Supergirl. While we've had a Supergirl (2015) show in the past, we've never really seen her in a substantial role in the film universe, so the development alone is really exciting to expand James Gunn's universe.
Plus, Krypto is her dog, so the adventures we can get with the two of them alone is everything. Movies centering women in the superhero universe are often subjected to a lot of weird and unnecessary flak solely because of their gender, and it's frustrating when a lot of times there's a huge story people are ignoring. For that, I'll be seated on opening day and can't wait to watch a new favorite character in the DCEU.
