Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 is coming to Disney+, and recently, showrunner Dario Scardapane promised we would see even more villains than those shown in the past. Not only is this great news for Marvel fans, but it finally opens the door to more loose ends being tied off that myself and other fans have been waiting for.

It’s been fun seeing Daredevil and Kingpin face off time and again for over a decade, but there have been many other enemies that never got the time of day, even back in Daredevil (2015). Here are some iconic villains we want to see trade blows with the Man Without Fear in Daredevil Season 3.

Gladiator

Melvin Potter, aka Gladiator, is a costume designer whose hatred of superheroes leads him to take on the likes of Daredevil. One of the first villains the Man Without Fear ever faces, he is also present in the first season of Daredevil, played by Matt Gerald.

Unfortunately, in the show’s third season, his decision to help Kingpin while under duress forces him to be arrested, with Matt Murdock playing a part in that. After two seasons of helping him, seeing Potter return as Gladiator with a grudge against Daredevil is exactly what fans want to see.

Stilt-Man

Wilbur Day, aka Stilt-Man, is one of the more comical villains that Daredevil faces in the comics. His main gimmick that aids his crimes is legs that can raise him up and help him tower above buildings.

Ironically, Season 1 of Daredevil showed these legs in Potter’s workshop, raising the question of whether or not this character could actually work in live-action. Now, with Daredevil: Born Again Season 3, it could be a chance to see Daredevil or the other Defenders face more ridiculous villains following Kingpin’s violent reign.

The Owl

daredevil-the-owl

In the comics, Leland Owlsley is the only Owl, a criminal financier who becomes a crime lord with owl-themed powers. He remains one of the most ruthless villains and crime lords in all of Marvel Comics, but his fate in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is much different.

A major player in Wilson Fisk’s rise to power in Season 1 of Daredevil, his boss kills him after Leland reveals that he tried to kill Vanessa. However, with the reveal that he has a son, Lee, there’s no reason that he can’t appear, older and bitter, to try and run New York City’s underworld and pay off another long-standing plot thread fans want to see.

Mister Fear

Though there are a few people who have the name Mister Fear, the main idea of the character is the same: a villain who uses fear gas to terrorize his victims. When Matthew Lillard was cast in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, fans assumed he could play this character since he already had ties to horror with Scream (1996), but that wasn’t the case.

Now, with Born Again Season 3 promising more villains, enemies like Mister Fear give the show a chance to branch out with dangerous rogues that have a unique gimmick. It’s something fans and the show need to make the street-level venue of the MCU feel more alive.

Typhoid Mary

Typhoid Mary is a classic Daredevil villain named Mary Alice Walker, who is a pyrokinetic mutant that also deals with Dissociative Identity Disorder. She’s a violent killer and worked for and even married Kingpin in the comics.

In the MCU, Typhoid Mary first appeared in Iron Fist Season 2 but was never seen again. With Daredevil: Born Again Season 3, it’s the perfect time to bring this character back and the final personality that could embrace her more comic-accurate roots and appearance while adding another mutant to the canon.

Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer with heightened abilities, is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.
