Every Charlize Theron Movie Coming In 2026 & 2027

Theron’s character in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey is essential to the story. So far, we’ve seen trailers and clips with Matt Damon, Tom Holland, and Anne Hathaway, and we know it will follow Odysseus trying to make his way home. But who keeps him from getting back home for seven years? Theron’s character, Calypso.

In the classic story, Calypso is a nymph who captures Damon’s Odysseus on his way home from the Trojan War. Charmed by him, she tries to convince him to marry her. Unfortunately, that doesn’t work, as he’s devoted to his wife, played by Hathaway, and only with help from higher powers does he gain his freedom. 

The only thing we can’t help but note is that with Theron not appearing in the trailers and the movie being under three hours, we’re probably not going to see as much of her character as fans want.

The Odyssey premieres in theaters on July 17, 2026.

Like many of the movies on this list, Tyrant sees Theron pulling double duty by starring and producing. In a lot of respects, this film is just as star-studded as Nolan’s The Odyssey. Tyrant is set in NYC’s high-end culinary world and described as Wall Street (1987) meets Whiplash (2014) because of how obsessive and brutal this world is often painted as. At the center of this movie is, of course, Theron. She’s joined by Demi Moore, Julia Garner, Omar Apollo, and Paapa Essiedu.

But what’s really going to get fans in theaters, besides Theron, is that Heated Rivalry (2025) star Hudson Williams will also be in the movie.

Theron’s upcoming movie Two for the Money has nothing to do with Al Pacino and Matthew McConaughey’s sports drama Two for the Money (2005). Instead, it’s an action film starring her and Daniel Craig that focuses on three major jobs and the interaction between the thieves at the center of them. With Theron and Craig being A-list stars, it’s easy to assume that they’re the thieves.  

Not so surprisingly, Theron will be producing this film. But what is a welcome surprise is that Justin Lin is set to direct. He and Theron have worked together on F9 (2021) and Fast X (2023). In those movies, Theron played the villain Cipher, with Lin acting as director.

Theron is partnering up with Channing Tatum for the upcoming family comedy Dance Parents. And like other movies on this list, details are scarce. What we do know is that it’s set in the world of young competitive dancers and their passionate parents. This will be Theron and Tatum’s first time acting together, with both of them acting as producers. 

Even though this will be Theron’s first dance-centric movie, it isn’t Tatum’s. He previously starred in the first Step Up (2006) movie and the Magic Mike (2012) trilogy. But don’t count Theron out when it comes to dancing. She trained as a professional ballerina before an injury changed her career path.

At the time of writing, Dance Parents does not have a release date.

Jane sees Theron pulling double duty again. Not only is she a producer, but she’s also the lead of the upcoming biopic. Last we left off, the Alfonso Cuarón-directed movie was still in pre-production, with him not directing a film since the 2018 movie Roma. Jack Thorne, whose most recent work includes Lord of the Flies (2026) and Adolescence (2025), is slated as writer. 

This biopic is based on the personal life of science fiction author Philip K. Dick. It tells the fictional story of the relationship between Dick and his twin sister Jane. The twist is that Jane died six weeks after birth. So, if Theron is set to play Jane, then she’s most likely a manifestation of what his sister would look like if she had lived. 

At the time of writing, Jane does not have a release date.

After the success of the spy thriller Atomic Blonde (2017), fans have been begging for Theron to return to the role of Lorraine Broughton. Even though she’s attached to the film, the last update we got about Atomic Blonde 2 was in 2019. At that time, director David Leitch told Slash Film that if the movie was going to happen, it would probably go to a streaming service. 

Hope for a sequel was only bolstered when the movie landed on HBO Max in 2025, bringing in a whole new group of fans. Since then, Theron has proved herself to be an action hero you can’t help but want more of with other films like Apex (2026), The Old Guard (2020), and The Old Guard 2 (2025). With all three of these being Netflix films and Atomic Blonde finding new success at HBO Max, maybe either of these giants will take on the sequel.
