Jennifer Aniston Shocked Billy Crudup With Her Netflix Guilty Pleasure | Sorry Not Sorry
Jennifer Aniston rose to fame on the iconic Friends. On the show, she played Rachel Green, a character so popular that she spawned her own haircut, with fans flocking to look just like their favourite character. As well as having perfect hair, the character of Rachel was also a fiercely loyal friend, and it seems that quality is something that Aniston shares with her onscreen alter ego.
Since leaving Friends, she has gone on to work with comedian Adam Sandler on multiple occasions, the two having become close companions off-screen.

The truest test of a celebrity friendship is whether they remember one another when alone, and in Jennifer Aniston’s case, the work of Adam Sandler is never far from her mind. During an interview with JustWatch alongside her The Morning Show co-star, Billy Crudup, Aniston couldn’t stop singing the praises of Sandler’s work.
Jennifer Aniston Is A Big Adam Sandler Fan
The Morning Show actors were each quizzed about what programmes they can’t help but rewatch over and over. Billy Crudup’s response was not that of a show, but rather a clip from an awards show: “There was a performance with Justin Timberlake and Chris Stapleton at some awards show. They did a little mash-up, and I’ll confess I go on binges where I just have to watch that like five times in a row.” We can all get sucked into watching videos online on repeat, but Jennifer Aniston was quick to offer Crudup some alternative viewing in the form of one of Adam Sandler’s Netflix specials.
She began, “You know what I watched many, many, many, many times, over and over again? Which was 100% fresh? It was Sandler's first show that he did for Netflix, where he wrote all these songs…” The mention of songs was enough to elicit a “what?” response from Crudup, and the actor became more bemused as Aniston told him more. He uttered an “alright” to Aniston’s declaration that “it’s brilliant.”
The Friends legend also assured Crudup that “you will laugh” and “you will cry”, before affirming, “it is incredible.” By the end of her impassioned speech, Crudup appeared to be won over by Aniston’s words; the only problem, though, is that she didn’t share the special's actual name.
The ‘100% Fresh’ Adam Sandler Special That You Need To Watch
From some digging around in the Netflix library, it appears that the Adam Sandler special that Aniston can watch on repeat is actually called Adam Sandler: 100% Fresh. Technically, Aniston did mention the words “100% Fresh”, but her wording was a little confusing. Her terminology alluded to the special having received 100% on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes rather than being called 100% Fresh, but even without the title being clear, she managed to sell it to Billy Crudup.
If her claim of 100% fresh was in reference to Rotten Tomatoes, then she still wasn’t far off, with the special currently holding a critics' score of 90% and an audience rating of 91%. The critic consensus highlights that “an energetic Sandler jumps back into the spotlight with fresh songs, stories, and spoofs in Adam Sandler: 100% Fresh, a wonderful return to form for a beloved comedian.” With Adam Sandler now best known as a movie star, it is easy to forget that he started his career as a stand-up comedian before becoming a part of the cast of Saturday Night Live. If you are unfamiliar with this side of Adam Sandler, then 100% Fresh is a great place to start. And for those that are Sandler fans, 100% Fresh deserves your attention as it is his first return to stand-up in over two decades!
Should you be as bowled over by 100% Fresh as Jennifer Aniston, another Netflix Sandler special to check out is Adam Sandler: Love You, which boasts having been directed by one-half of his Uncut Gems directors, Josh Safdie.
All the Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler Team-Ups You Need To Watch
Jennifer Aniston shouting out Adam Sandler’s work is proof that celebrity friendships are more than just for show. Although having been friends since the ‘90s, their working relationship didn’t begin until 2011 when they appeared together in Just Go With It. The romantic comedy might have been a critical disaster (currently 20% on Rotten Tomatoes), but Just Go With It proved that the duo had undeniable onscreen chemistry.
This chemistry is something that Netflix capitalised on with Murder Mystery and its sequel, Murder Mystery 2, being big ratings winners for the streaming service. These films place Aniston and Sandler as a couple who find themselves entangled in a series of mysterious crimes. Once again, the pair’s friendship shines out of the screen, their chemistry easily pasting over any of the slightly sillier aspects of the script.
Given their success, it's only a matter of time before we are treated to another outing from these famous friends, and audiences are definitely ready.
